Battlestar React-ica: Katee Sackhoff's First Watch of BSG

We're back for another season of one of the best shows of all time (look it up). And we're kicking off with the biggest guest of them all -- the creator of the show and the writer of this episode, RONALD D. MOORE!! From the return of Leoben to the one-eyed Colonel Tigh, Ron gave us incredible insights into the making of the show, BTS stories, and a perspective on the story that we couldn't get from anyone else.

Come along for a mini ride through the backstory of a few key characters that don't get enough regular screen time. Between S2 and S3, Jammer and Duck get some flushed out story while we also still get some great Chief and Tigh moments as well.

I have never watched my performance in Battlestar Galactica.. until now. Listen along for my real, unfiltered first reactions. It's like a DVD commentary, remember those? There will definitely be some behind the scenes stories ;) and if you're a visual person, check out the reaction videos over on YouTube.

Katee Sackhoff and Robin Gadsby hosted a live event with special guest Ronald D. Moore, the man who reimagined Battlestar Galactica. We watched select clips from across Season 2, reacted in real time, and then got to ask Ron the questions we’ve been dying to get answers to. Behind-the-scenes details, never-before-told stories, and plenty of moments that had the whole room cracking up.

All proceeds from the event went to the Sam Day Foundation and we were able to raise $33,000 for Pediatric Cance...

This may be the best Season Finale in TV history! There, we said it! Robin gets BSG stress chest and Katee forgets how much she and Michael Trucco make-out in this episode 😂 *Spoiler* it's A LOT. The political drama is intense as well, with the election between Roslin and Baltar hitting a climax that had us both stressed out. And the time jump? Wow...this season has been a wild ride, and they capped it off with a bang 🤯

We're back with Grace Park on the React-ica couch! We get her Cylon perspective on Sharon's journey back to Caprica to help the humans who killed her baby 😳 and the fleet stumbles upon a habitable planet that becomes the focus of the presidential election!

Grace Park aka Boomer aka Sharon aka Athena is on the show!! And we couldn't ask for a better episode to have her as we dive right into the "goo" of what it's like to be a Cylon down on Caprica. Like Katee, Grace remembers almost nothing from the show so it's like watching it for the first time 😆

The Pegasus has a new commander, Starbuck is a Captain, and Apollo is now a Major (douche)...just kidding! That's for all the people who complain that we hate on Lee too much 😂 This episode started out with a fun new perspective on the role of engineers in the fleet and ends with a debate about abortion rights. Thank you BSG. Looking forward to all of the totally chill and not at all triggering comments from the world wide web 😮‍💨

LIVE EVENT with Ron Moore! ➡️ https://givebutter.com/therealbattle Come spend the evening with Katee, Robin, and the man who started this all on September 11th in Portland! All proceeds go towards pediatric cancer research.

BILLLLLYYYYYY!!!!!!! We love you Paul Campbell. Cylon Sympathizers in one episode and now TOO MUCH Cylon sympathy in today's React-ica....the fleet just can't find a balanced take. And Starbuck performs a super awesome rescue mission that goes wrong through absolutely no fault of her own 👀.......Katee is listening.

We go from last week's episode where Starbuck is suspiciously non-existent, to this week....where it's all Kara Thrace all the time! And she is a hot frakkin' mess y'all. Katee talks about how frustrating it was to play Starbuck in this storyline, where she is constantly failing and being torn to pieces by Kat of all people...

"Black Market" is allegedly the worst episode of Battlestar Galactica across all 4 seasons, according to the internet. Katee and Robin have thoughts on this, as well as one major overarching question...Why the hell isn't Kara Thrace in this episode!?

We've had an Epiphany...you should watch BSG with us, cause it's frakking great! The last few episodes tackled some really heavy subject matter shown through the treatment of Cylon prisoners in the fleet. This week, the Battlestar creators lighten the mood with some fun debate about aborting a Cylon/Human hybrid baby....😳 Buckle up.

Apollo free floating in space, Starbuck on the assassination path, and Adama and Roslin's relationship makes Katee Sackhoff cry...hard. Tricia Helfer is back on the couch with us to complete the BSG Pegasus Trilogy of episodes, and we get to see her evolve her character(s) into territory we haven't seen from her before on the show.

"Let's just be...friendly!" In your dreams Starbuck, this is BSG. Admiral Cain and Commander Adama call a truce, but that does NOT last. Tricia Helfer is on the couch with Katee and Robin as we watch dual assassination plots unfold. Meanwhile, Baltar is making progress with Model 6 "Gina", until she tries to choke him out. Or maybe that is progress? 🤷‍♀️

Tricia Helfer is back for an episode that represents a dramatic shift in her Cylon portrayal. It's also a complete cluster F of moral and ethical questions as we discover that another Battlestar has survived, and they have an entirely different...culture let's say, on board their ship. Tricia is able to give us incredible insight into this pivotal moment in the series as two fleets merge. The dynamic that Michelle Forbes brings onto the show with her character Admiral Cain is incredible television!

This episode of the BSG React-ica dives into some VERY far fetched ideas. A computer virus that can learn, adapt and eventually destroy us all? No way that's ever going to happen 👀 Katee and Robin are once again amazed by how relevant this show still is. Plus Chief builds a stealth fighter, Sharon saves the fleet, and Chief and Helo get into fisticuffs!

We're back with Tahmoh Penikett aka HELO! This time we get to react to one of the most referenced episodes in Season 2 apparently. It's also our first introduction to LUCY LAWLESS on the show! Tahmoh is, as expected, a joy to have with us watching this episode. He gives us his views on stunt casting, ignoring the multiple camera's (one cameraman named Tim in particular who always popped out of nowhere) and more!

Tahmoh Penikett is here! We get to see him and Helo react to the news that he’s having a daughter 🤯 and it sure gets awkward when Chief Tyrol shows up in what was one hell of a fleet reunion. Stick around to the end to hear us dive into some fan questions and find out even more about Tahmoh’s experience on BSG.

Starbuck, Helo and their new/old Cylon buddy Sharon return to the fleet! And Katee and Robin think they maayyybe should have planned their entrance a little better. Meanwhile, Adama struggles to keep his part of the fleet afloat, Tom Zarek plots some villainy, and President/Prophet Laura Roslin plans a trip to Kobol that is GUARANTEED to cause some bloodshed. Phew....we may be due for a lighthearted romp like "Tigh Me Up, Tigh Me Down" soon.

Aaron Douglas is back for another Triple Banger (if you know, you know). It may not be a very Chief heavy episode, but Aaron gives some great insider commentary on "The Farm" as we spend some time digging into Starbucks dark backstory and get some more (handsome)face time with Michael Trucco's character Sam Anders.

The Chief himself is on the show! Aaron Douglas joins us on the couch to watch Ep. 4 Resistance. And what an episode as Chief Tyrol and Boomer are reunited for the first time since before Adama was shot. Aaron gives us some incredible insight into filming this episode but also a ton of great stories from the show in general. So stick around to the end!

It's a double header with Cylon Six AKA Tricia Helfer on the couch! This episode gives us some strong Sam Witwer action as Crashdown leads the stranded team on Kobol against a troop of Cylon Centurions. Meanwhile, Desperate Housewives of BSG star Ellen Tigh is stirring the pot on board the Galactica by drawing attention to President Roslin's drug withdrawal symptoms. Colonel Tigh is in over his head....

This is it...our first guest on the couch! And we couldn't be happier to be sitting next to Tricia Helfer. Besides reacting to "Valley of Darkness" together, we also get to hear from Tricia about what it was like playing a Cylon, how she had to fit into tiny spaces in order to 'appear' as Six, and much much more.

"Kobol's Last Gleaming Part 1" is probably the sweatiest we've ever been while watching television.. Katee remembers all the dirty little details of a certain sex scene, and Robin's head almost explodes in the opening sequence of the episode. Come along for the ride!

Join us for a nice quiet vacation on the Cloud 9, a luxury space cruise liner where nothing bad ever happens and everything is super chill and relaxed.. PSYCH! This is BSG so there's an assassination plot, political backstabbing, a bar brawl, and Starbuck shows up at the end in a little blue dress that is very cute -- until Robin finds out her dance with Baltar goes WAY further than he wanted to hear.

Episode 7 'Six Degrees of Separation' gives us some of the finest Baltar moments of the season and Katee and Robin swoon over James Callis' performance. Not to be sidelined, Trisha's transformation from Cylon Six into Shelly Godfrey is phenomenal. Plus, a sexual moment between her and Commander Adama had us reeling!

Episode 6 Litmus is like Law & Order: Sci-Fi edition.. but with bombs.. and better writing.. and a character who fights robots on a nuked planet where the fleshy robot replicants beat the crap out of one of their own in some kind of confusing long con to trick the human, who is also falling in love with one of the fleshy replicants..
