A Review Review Spooky Season episode for THE squeal to the subject film from the last episode?! You better believe it!  The film in question "Army of Darkness” (dir. Raimi 1992) Starring: Bruce Campbell, Embeth Davidtz, and Marcus Gilbert. Viewing order can have a massive influence on us when it come to things like franchises. We hope you enjoy this breakdown of the 3rd "Evil Dead" film between 3 people who all started from different places! Oh, and RIP to that kid that Paul hit in the head with a detached chair leg. Tragic. 10/22!

A Review Review RAPID FIRE episode for a SEQUEL in the middle of a trilogy/franchise?! Holy smokes! It’s “Evil Dead 2: Dead By Dawn” (dir. Raimi 1987) Starring: Bruce Campbell, and Sarah Berry . Sure, we could spend a lot of time going over this remake/requel hybrid, but when you want to get serious, we have our pitch for “Air Bud: Air Bud The CHUD,” ready for you. 10/15!

It's another Review Review RAPID FIRE for Spooky Season! Paul’s Pumpkiny Pick for our annual celebration of movies that spook you is "The Stepfather,”  (d. Reuben 1987). Starring: Terry O’ Quinn (Lost, The X-Files) and Jill Schoelen. We are going about as crisp Pacific Northwest feels as they get with this underseen thriller. Which includes an incredible turn from Terry…Larry…Jerry…Barry…PISTACHIO? HIGHLY REGARDED AWARD WINNING ACTOR WILLEM DAFOE?! Nope, it was in fact, all Terry O’ Quinn. What a performance! And we finally learn what it takes to be a StepFATHER, and not just a St...

As we like to try and do our level best to keep October spooky across the entire "Review Review Niverse," even here on Shelf Help, Paul brings you the SteelBook 4K edition of "A Nightmare on Elm Street," (1984 d. Craven). This rerelease of the MANY times released classic includes multiple commentaries, a full restoration from the original negatives at New Line (it is "The house the Freddy built," after all), and one of the cooooler cases you'll find...literally, it's steel. It gets cold.

Cooooooo-SATNZA. Eric Driscoll of Mr. D Likes Movies & The Yada Yada Podcast is back with his pick to kick off our annual Spooky Season "Deep Blue Sea," (dir. Harlin 1999) Starring: Thomas Jane, Saffron Burrows, and Stellan Skarsgard. We celebrate the magic and majesty of practical stunts. We ask ourselves the hard moral questions re: playing god, and what lines we would be willing to cross. And what the possible motivations are, for this peak Thomas Jane performance. 10/1!
