Comic Patrol Pod

Look. We know it's been a while. And sometimes, life gets in the way - and that's exactly what's been happening the past six-ish or so months. BUT WE'RE BACK! And first order of business is to tackle the Batman issues we've missed:

New Bracket segment - this was a surprise for Dank, nobody told him he'd have to be making some quick decisions.

Well its been months since the first official trailer dropped for Avengers: Doomsday, hits theatres by years end. But D'Weapons couldn't hold back in what they thought was coming with the first look of the 5th installment, in a record-breaking franchise.

With the promise of Doom, both Coke and Dank are wondering what we will get on the screen when Marvels finest (Spiderman, Iron Man, Thor) and Fox's rejects (X-Men) all share the screen this December 18th.

Buckle in soft cheeses, this is the dooms-day-of-trailers

SPECIAL EPISODE ALERT NU MEATZ!!

This week on Arc Analysis we have a: FAN SUBMISSION!!
Eddie O Shea, an avid anime fan, has written a book about lead character Ethan, "a young man discovering his powers in a world of superheroes." called Retribution Rising.

Coke N Dank love a chance to read something new and experiemental and Retribution Rising falls right into that wheel-house.
Buckle-in Nu MEATZ as we talk all things about Eddie O'Shea's passion project that he shared with us and now you!

Hey EDDIE, if youre reading this y...

Continuing on from our last Ed Brubaker and Sean Phillips story we posted a couple of weeks ago, we're back for more of this legendary duo.

Criminal: Lawless is the 2nd volume of the classic tale of gritty crime stories. In this one, the question is asked, how far would you go to avenge a family member you barely knew? How much of a motivator is the feeling of guilt? In this volume, we get a glimpse at how a man with nothing to lose inserts himself into a unit of organized crime to get revenge for...

We don't want to bury the lead on this one but you know we love us some Brian K Vaughan and Fiona Staples' SAGA. And you can see for yourself that, with this being the 4th volume we've covered, it's a series that's in our wheelhouse.

With our main characters moreso in hiding than actually on the run, can they find a way to raise Hazel while also staying safe? Prince Robot hasn't given up on searching for them, and a large chunk of the galazy now knows about them too.

An empire only really e...

It's been a while since we covered an Ed Brubaker / Sean Phillips book, but we made it. This team was due for another round of coverage (even if we already did a 6-pack for them, that was ages ago), and we deliver here.

Last volume, our main character, Dylan, was introduced to the literal demon on his shoulder who was forcing him to kill people. It was an adjustment to say the least... But now with volume 2 of Kill or Be Killed, Dylan has learned - and seems oddly comfortable - to live with his passenger. If...

Episode 120 and the Weapons - Keep. Pulling. Comics.  The fun doesnt slow down, but it does change tones as we wait finally get a taste of the new creative team to uphold TMNT(2026) arc, we get a double dose of turtlepower this month!

Tony Stark is dead and Victor Von Doom takes up the mantle of Iron Man, whether anybody wants it or not.

That's the premise for Brian Michael Bendis and Alex Maleev's Infamous Iron Man book. It's a great idea and fun to think about the possibilities of how Doom could twist his newfound identity for his own gain, so hit play and listen to what Coke N Dank have to say

November 16, 1947.
That is when All True Crime Cases #26 was released to the public. Who wrote it? We don't know. Who drew it? We also don't know, but we can tell you what it's about: Totally true crimes that all children should definitely read about...
This comic flows through about 5 different stories, ranging from mobsters with guns to murderous circus acts and cowboys. All of which, of course, was marketed towards kids, because of course murder and crime is what junior should read about.
All MIGHT be forgiven if it's actually any good, but... you'll have to l...

Listening order:

And we ain't done yet! We're going to keep going, periodically, with this TMNT run because this specific stretch of issues needs to be consumed. Kevin Eastman, Bobby Curnow and Tom Waltz have stuff to say!
And so here we are, the next volume, after the brothers return from their much needed break. They left New York, regrouped, found themselves and are back in the city that never sleeps only to find... More trouble. Shredder...

Coke and Dank had a bit of an off week but they didnt stop reading!

TMNT/Batman Pull List continues on as we follow the new creative team taking over the TMNT 2025 series. As well as learn more about Gotham City that Bruce Wayne must navigate. There were laughs, there were explainations, there were comics reviewed, but more than anything there were two guys who found a way to keep talking about TURTLES

Coke's Pulls:

Dank's Pulls:

With this 5th volume, Rick Remender and Wes Craig's Deadly Class is now our longest running Arc Analysis saga, beating out Fraction and Aja's 4 volumes of Hawkeye. Considering that Deadly Class vol 1 was our first ever Arc Analysis episode, it seems fitting that we're here with it now.
This volume is an introduction to the "new class" of characters, spinning out of the bloody, fiery end of the last volume. That means a lot of new faces, some very familiar ones, and definitely some surprises that readers may or may not love, but to know for sure, you'll...

Remember that book we did last week? The one by Tom King and Gabriel Hernandez Walta? Ya, well we realized it is only two volumes long, so we finished it off in it's entirety, back to back.
The Vision wants a life of his own, away from the hustle and bustle. He just wants a nuclear family (that he made himself), go to his 9 to 5 (the Avengers), and have completely normal (creepy) neighbours!
But it isn't always that easy... Especially when you're an android burying your head in the sand of a world that misunderstands you.
