Once more unto the breach....
Week 17 was very much an on/off affair, so it all comes down to Week 18. Three divisions are either all done and dusted in terms of promotion/relegation, but five most definitely are not. Two sides could win the Prem, one of two will be joining Twickenham in Div 1. Sal and Dan talk through all the various permutations out there.

Weekend to remember for Shay Boo
Shepherd's Bush v Teddington is rapidly becoming the MCCL's version of the Rocky films. Minus the Cold War politics. And Clubber Lang. No one really needs Clubber Lang. Anyway..... their fourth meeting of the season was in the QF of the National, and the Bush came through. Sal and Dan talk through all that was going on there. Plus, Stanmore slip into the bottom two, Harrow and Eastcote now looking more nailed on for promotion than ever. And, are you out if a part of your helmet falls off and hits the stumps? Listen in and you'll find out.<...
Teddington nudge back ahead
There was more topsy-turviness across the MCCL as a number of the top sides slipped up. Crouch End's sojourn at the top of the Prem lasted just the week, Harrow Town slip up in Div 3, as do London Sportif in Div 4. Ally Pally subsequently rise to the top of an MCCL division for the first time in a fair old while. Elsewhere, what do you do when a fielder inadvertently wipes out the 'keeper? Sal explains.....

Prem title race hots up
There is a new leader in the Prem. Teddington slip up, Crouch End pounce. In a day where top sides didn't have it all their own way, neither Harrow nor Eastcote win in Div 1 whilst Harrow Town slip on a banana skin in Div 2. Plus, no one out-gunned Tower Hamlets in Div 7. And, two MCCL sides move in to the quarter-finals of the National.Â

Half-way there
The MCCL has reached its half-way point. Time for Sal and Dan to begin taking stock.....and that despite the horrendous weekends that their respective sides enjoyed. Game of the weekend involved Bessborough and Kenton in Div 2, although Desperadoes v Actonians in Div 5 wasn't far behind. Do tune in for the full lowdown.

Hold your horses
If your side was top of one of the divisions of the MCCL going into Week 8 then there was a fair chance that results when against you on Saturday. Through the pain barrier.
Last summer Chris Woakes famously went out to bat against India with a dislocated shoulder. Enfield's Harry Wilkins can now officially say "Woakesy, hold my beer". Broken bones didn't prevent Wilkins from going out to bat one-handed in dramatic run chase against Bessborough on Saturday. Harry joins Sal and Dan to talk us through the day's events. Elsewhere, Teddington are held by Finchley, Harrow keep plugging along. And, Tentelow are - finally - off the mark in Div 7.

Low scoring drama
Sometimes the best games of cricket aren't ones where the ball is smashed everywhere. Week 6 in the MCCL is a great example of that. Twickenham pull off a miracle and win with only 78 on the board, West Harrow (somehow) nearly defend 39 against Enfield. Harrow Town win despite posting only 106, Ally Pally just about chase 101. Low scores, high drama was very much the order of the day.

Rain-dodging season
Just five 1st XI games managed to beat the weather on 6 June. One was in Div 7, two in Div 6, one in Div 4 and Twickenham v Stanmore in the Prem. And, Twickenham will be much the happier; by virtue of our old friend Vera Duckworth and her sums, they got home and with that their first ten points of the season. Plus, how bad exactly was that Test Match track and what's it like being an umpire on a rainy day? Spoiler. Not much fun....

Ealing and Teddington march on....
The premier division league table is taking shape, but not perhaps in the way many anticipated. Ealing are flying, North Midd and Shay Boo are - on the face of it at least - struggling. Elsewhere, unpredictability never seems to be far away. That's most obviously the case with Tentelow in Div 7; beaten by Gautum Buddha on Saturday, facing Shepherd's Bush in the last 16 of the T20 on Monday. They couldn't, could they....?Â

Plus, Wembley's Junayd Azar makes an immediate impact, and Swamibapa - just about - start off with a win.

Ealing offically rise from the dead
A month ago, Ealing needed to win four from four to stay up. The odds were against them. Kristian Martin's side cared little for that and completed their Lazarus-like comeback with a win against Harrow St Mary's in Week 18. Elsewhere, Finchley won the big game of the day in Div 1, but it was Div 5 that provided the real drama; heard the one about eight runs being the difference between top and fifth? If not, listen in. And, Sal and Dan round things off with this year's MCCL podcast awards......

Judgement day beckons in the MCCL
North Middlesex have been crowned Premier League champions, but there is still an awful lot of business that needs sorting in the MCCL. Ealing face off against Harrow St Mary's in a relegation shoot out and that's arguably the game of the day. Elsewhere, Bron and Finchley are fighting for the second promotion slot out of Div 1, Eastcote play Harrow to decide which of the two will be Div 2 champions. Ealing, back from the dead?
Lazarus has officially come to the MCCL. Ealing, once pronounced dead in the Premier League relegation battle, are now out of the bottom two. Quite the turnaround for the Corfton Roaders. Prem relegation bunfight hotting up
Who is going to go down from the MCCL's Premier Division? Ealing looked dead and buried until recently, but there's still hope at Corfton Road that they could do a Harry Houdini and stay up. Harrow St Mary's are also showing proper fight, defeating both North Midd and Shay Book in the last two weeks. Only those two title chasers plus Crouch End will genuinely be sleeping easy. Elsewhere, Twickenham win the big game in Div 1, Enfield slip up in Div 2, West Harrow are the big winners in Div 3. Plus, Sal and Dan cover plenty more besides.Â
There's life in the Prem's old dog(s) yet
Ealing still have a long way to go to maintain their Premier League status, but they are at least making positive strides. Harrow St Mary's are also on the winning path, they cause a shock against North Midd whilst Teddington leapfrog up the table. Elsewhere, the Div 1 promotion race has closed up, whilst Divs 3-5 remain as tight and hard-to-predict as ever. Plus, dig-in-of-the-day is back.....

Title race blown wide open
We're halfway through the 2025 season. Hornsey's Week 9 defeat of Shay Boo means the title race is now very much alive. At the other end of the table, Harrow St Mary's shock a struggling Ealing, whilst Twickenham lose their 100 per cent record at the top of Division One. Elsewhere, Eastcote are streaking ahead in Div 2, promotion race is much tighter in Div 3. For all on the above and indeed much more, do have a listen.Â

Is a big cheese on the way out of the Prem?
Teddington and Ealing have traditionally been sides that have vied to win the Middlesex County League title. Not this year. Could one of them even get relegated? Sal and Dan think the unthinkable. Plus, North London win the big game at the bottom of Div 1, and Kay Plus (finally) come a cropper (to Chiswick) in Div 3. How much longer will the four other first XIs with 100 per cent records go?

Ups and downs aplenty in Week 2 of the MCCL
