Balance Selections Podcast

Hailing from La Rioja in Argentina, Juan Ibañez is part of a new generation of South American producers bringing fresh energy to the scene. His growing international profile has taken him across Europe, Asia and Latin America, while his productions continue to find an audience well beyond his native Argentina. In 2026, he collaborated on ‘Auralis’, a richly textured progressive house cut featured on the This Is Balance Croatia 2026 compilation. Beyond the studio, Ibañez is also the founder of Desierto, an event platform dedicated to developing electronic music culture in northern Argentina. On this Balance Selections, the producer shows his fo...

The title track ‘Run For Cover’ taps into the wide-eyed escapism of the mid-’90s without slipping into nostalgia. Psychedelic details flicker across the drums like LED trails in a dark room, while a restless walking bassline gives the whole thing a wonderfully physical pull. Elements drift in and out of focus, resisting an obvious genre tag while maintaining an easy, heads-down momentum. It’s progressive music in the literal sense: constantly moving, never particularly interested in announcing where it’s going next.

On “Stupa”, the mood opens outward. There’s an unmistakable Balearic quality to its sun-warmed percussion and serrated bassline,a groove that immediately suggests open-air dancefloors and late-afternoon light. A woozy synth gradually sends proceedings into more narcotic territory, while soft vocal fragments, keyboard flourishes and flashes of guitar keep one foot planted somewhere recognisably human. Nothing is hurried or overplayed. Instead, Warren lets each element breathe, resulting in the kind of patient, transportive dance music that comes from knowing exactly how little you need to do.

Colombian DJ NAJEYS has developed a sound rooted in the melodic and hypnotic strains of progressive house. With a background in vocals and percussion, she began exploring electronic music in 2016, developing an approach to DJing that balances driving rhythms, atmospheric textures and emotive melodies. A resident at Medellín’s Club Sonorama and winner of Colombia’s Best Progressive DJ award in 2022, NAJEYS has performed at major festivals across Colombia, Mexico, Curaçao and Argentina. She next opens for Martin Garrix at Medellín’s Davi Arena on December 5th, with new music also on the horizon. On this Balance Selection...

Solis [US] is the progressive and organic house project of Madison, Wisconsin-based producer David Hammond. His sound moves between melancholy and uplift, pairing rich melodic arrangements with organic textures and syncopated rhythms. That sensibility is evident on the Tisno EP, his recent two-track collaboration with Simply City and debut on Balance Music. Hammond’s ear for unexpected melodies lends the release much of its character. On his Balance Selections mix, Solis [US] delivers a two-hour journey fit for immersion. Featuring tracks from Alex O’Rion, Mike Rish, Tonaco and more, the mix moves between melancholy and optimism, exploring the more emot...

Alej Ch is a producer and DJ working across organic, deep and progressive house. His releases have appeared on labels including Warpp, Songuara and Melody of the Soul. A self-taught musician, he came to production through piano and guitar before developing a sound built around intricate melodies and dramatic flourishes. His recent work sits comfortably between the more organic end of house and deeper, club-focused territory. On this Balance Selections mix, the Greek producer delivers a polished 60-minute session that marks him as one to watch. Featuring tracks from Ezequiel Arias, Redspace, Maze 28 and more, it offers a sharp snapshot...

On the optimistic ‘Hikari’, a rolling bassline drives the track forward with an infectious low-end pulse that will be difficult to ignore on the dancefloor. A stretched vocal sample drifts across uplifting melodic keys, creating a genuine feeling of space and freedom. In Japanese, hikari means “light”, a word often associated with hope, positivity and clarity. It’s a fitting title for a track that channels those exact qualities.

Lead cut ‘Find a Way’ draws on the genre’s classic foundations, built around a warm vocal sample and bubbling synths. A beautifully measured breakdown opens the track up, as melodic layers gather around the vocal before the groove locks back into place. It’s A-grade dancefloor material, with enough presence to become the defining moment of a set. @drunkenkongjp

David Mayer’s sound reflects a life spent moving between cultures. Raised across Germany, Spain and Norway before settling in Berlin in 2004, he developed an approach to dance music that has never sat comfortably inside a single genre. House and techno form the foundation, but the real through-line is rhythm: funked-up low end, muscular four-on-the-floor grooves and a sense of swing that keeps even his deeper productions firmly connected to the dancefloor. As both a DJ and producer, Mayer favours music with weight and immediacy, balancing hypnotic detail with an instinct for hooks and forward motion. It’s a combination that...

Criminal lawyer by day, DJ/producer by night, Pau Grossi is an Argentine artist whose sets move between deep house, progressive and techno without settling too neatly into any one lane. Groove is the constant, underlined by patient shifts in energy that shape her approach. Now increasingly focused on production, she is translating that same sensibility into her own music, qualities also evident in recent appearances with The Soundgarden and La Biblioteca.

'Astraea' is built around a melody that's utterly arresting. It dances and twinkles with a playful ease, weaving between notes like sunlight on water. Beneath it, a warm, driving bassline provides momentum: a steady current beneath the shimmering surface. This is progressive house at its best: optimistic and emotive. This feels more like a celebration than a composition.

Like the Adriatic coast itself, 'Tisno' evokes a sense of cosmic connection that borders on the spiritual. A rubber-band bassline snaps back and forth beneath a top-line melody that glistens like a canopy of stars. As captivating as the opening is, the true payoff arrives in a breathtaking second act, where a tonal shift delivers the kind of euphoric release that defines unforgettable dancefloor moments. This is destined to become a secret weapon in the bags of discerning selectors.

CAMILA (AR) is an emerging electronic music artist from the province of Chaco, in northeastern Argentina.  With a sound that is rooted in progressive house, she regularly explores the edges of the sound. It's a space where bright, emotive passages give way to darker, immersive stretches. The result is music built as much for introspection as the dancefloor. It’s this ability that has seen her sign with Balance Music, with a forthcoming release set to further underline the depth and versatility of her sound. On this Balance Selections, the producer has compiled a journey of deep progressive filled with col...

Diego Moreira has spent more than a decade refining a strain of progressive house built on dark protocols. Since 2018, his releases have carried that approach well beyond his native Argentina, earning regular support across specialist radio, clubs and the wider progressive circuit. Moreira’s music is defined less by obvious peaks than by the way it gets there: fluid, measured and always conscious of the journey. On this Balance Selections, the Argentine delivers a set steeped in those same principles. Featuring music from Claudio Cornejo, Kyotto and Stas Drive, alongside a stack of unreleased material from Moreira himself, this is a...

Originally from Buenos Aires, Agustín Ficarra developed an early connection to music through Argentina’s diverse band culture. That background continues to shape a sound rooted in house and its various offshoots. After establishing himself in the electronic music scene as a DJ, he began producing in 2020. His collaboration with Kabi resulted in the Let You Go EP on Balance Music, with its second track, 'Keep You Close' featured in this mix. It forms part of a growing discography that regularly receives support from leading figures across the scene. On this Balance Selections, Ficarra delvers a 70 min plus mix fil...

On ‘Empty Sky’, the atmosphere stretches across a vast landscape of synths and plucked strings. The drums are warm and deeply inviting, a sure-tell sign that this is an Eli Nissan production. Drawing on a euphoric template reminiscent of vintage progressive, the track’s central melodic movement feels like pure bliss. As the title itself suggests, this is music designed to make you soar.

A throbbing bassline forms the foundation of ‘Euphoria’, riding atop driving drums with an infectious sense of momentum. In the distance, a shimmering melody begins to emerge like the Northern Lights cutting through the night sky. Its slithering fragments seep through bursts of FX and swelling textures, steadily tightening the track’s grip on the dancefloor. There won’t be many floors capable of resisting this one.
