We also discuss Afo Fasogbon signing on for a few more years (at least) while Tomos Williams becomes the fourth Cherry and White to win Premiership Player of the Season.
Finally both Russ and Jim give their end of season reviews and we have a brief discussion about the Top 14 and ProD2 Promotion and Relegation.

Series 6 - Episode 32: Gloucester keep their playoff hopes alive; Welsh Rugby psychodrama continues; Gloucester Rugby announce leavers; England training squad announcement; Jim 's Dragon Boat Sunday

A bumper podcast with lots to get through! Firstly Gloucester kept their Playoff hopes alive with a vital bonus point win away at Falcons. Other results (sort of) went our way, meaning that although not entirely in the Cherry & Whites' hands, there is a clear path to a top four finish.
Meanwhile we discuss the latest announcements of leavers and new signings at Gloucester - including the disappointing confirmation that Chris Harris, Ruan Ackermann and Freddie Clarke are all off to pastures new (yet to be confirmed).
Elsewhere as England announce their first 33 man camp...
Series 6 - Episode 31: Playoff hopes damaged with defeat at Twickenham; Lions Squad announcement;

Another game at Twickenham ends in defeat for Gloucester, this time meaning that the Cherry & Whites playoff hopes hang by a thread as Quins outmuscled and outplayed us. We chat through what went wrong, the frustrations of our continued inconsistency - particularly in the big games - and what we can expect in the final two games of the regular season.
Meanwhile, we did get the Lions squad announcement and Tomos Williams is deservedly in! We share our thoughts and decide who was lucky, or hard done by in the selections.
Finally a brief chat...
Series 6 - Episode 30: A tribute to Mickey Booth; 2003 Cup Final memories; Northampton and Bordeaux upset the favourites to secure a Champions Cup Final place; Lions squad predictions

We learnt last Thursday of the passing of Gloucester Rugby great Mickey Booth. Our thoughts are with all of his family and friends. We were joined by Ian Taylor whose father played for Gloucester alongside Mickey in the 1960's to share his memories.
Meanwhile Ed and Russ attended the 4ED Charity event at Kingsholm reminiscing about the 2003 Cup Final victory over Northampton - the last time we won at Twickenham.

Series 6 - Episode 28: Chat with Ross Hancock (Gloucester supporter and Head of Marketing and Commercial at Cornish Pirates)

Apologies for the problems last week and the missed pod. Despite our best efforts, the file simply wouldn't upload - which is a shame because we can guarantee it was our funniest, most informative and almost certainly greatest pod ever (if you believe that you will believe anything).
This week, Ed chat with Gloucester supporter Ross Hancock - who just happens to be the Head of Marketing and Commercial at Cornish Pirates. They chat through the last couple of weeks and the two disappointing results and second half performances, before discussing the recently announced developments in the...
Series 6 - Episode 27: Gloucester thrash Bristol with an incredible performance; Financial concerns remain; A Middle East Rugby World Cup?

A sell-out crowd saw one of the most complete performances from a Gloucester side in recent memory. Unlike some of the more impressive results that we have seen in the George Skivington era (64-0 versus Bath or the hammerings given to Sarries or Newcastle) this was against the 2nd place team in the league who had just come off the back of an 8 try demolition of Chiefs. We dissect the tries, the performances, the strategy and simply how much fun it was to watch!
Unfortunately the good news didn't carry over to the balance sheets as Gloucester...
Series 6 - Episode 26: Gloucester defeated away to Bath despite 1st half bonus point; New Kit supplier rumours; Away supporter areas in Rugby; Bristol preview

Back to Premiership action last week for Gloucester and despite a combative performance in which the Cherry and Whites secured a try bonus point in the first half, Glaws were unable to stamp their authority on the second forty as Bath ran out comfortable and deserved winners in the West Country derby.
The lads chat through the game, the performances and the key points of difference plus where we see the positives for the remainder of the season.
We also discuss the rumours around the new kit supplier, the upcoming trial for Away supporter areas...

A great weekend of Rugby saw England record their biggest ever win over Wales in Cardiff, while Gloucester-Hartpury made their own history completing the Three-peat of PWR titles as they beat Saracens in their own backyard.
We discuss both games, the achievements of Glos-Hartpury and where this leaves England and English players ahead of the Lions tour.
Finally we chat about the lack of Promotion and Relegation (again); a league wide loan to keep Newcastle Falcons afloat and Bill Sweeney threatening to take his rugby ball and move to Milton Keynes, because he missed out...

Series 6 - Episode 23: Gloucester-Hartpury reach their third consecutive PWR Final; The impact of Ilona Maher; Viva Las Vegas?; Championship clubs moaning again

With a very young and inexperienced Gloucester side narrowly losing away to Newcastle in the Premiership Cup (and so far, no highlights seem to be available), our attentions this week were focused on Glos-Hartpury and their bid for a third consecutive PRW Final appearance. After a slow start, the girls once again delivered with a fine performance and comfortable victory against Bristol Bears. We chat through the game, the standout players and why all of you lovely pod listeners should try and get down to the Stone X a week Sunday!

Meanwhile, Glos-Hartpury secured top spot with a commanding win over Quins - we look forward to the Semi this weekend at Queensholm.

Series 6 - Episode 21: Gloucester young guns and Hartpury play out an underwhelming draw; England snatch victory over France; Ireland thump a poor Scotland; Wales misery continues as Italy win in Rome

Gloucester played Hartpury in their final Premiership Cup home game and it was a bit of a stinker. A 7-7 draw with very little quality or entertainment, Jim and Ed give their very short reviews of the game and where we can find any positives.
In the Six Nations, England snatched an improbable victory over a misfiring French side; Scotland once again crumbled in the face of a dominant Ireland and Wales' misery continues to a 14th straight defeat as Italy win back to back games in Rome.

Jim and Ed chat about their respective experiences over in France and Spain last weekend as Gloucester succumbed to a heavy defeat away to Bayonne in the final weekend of group fixtures in the Challenge Cup. Gloucester have qualified and will face the very tricky task of a trip to Montpellier in the last 16.
After Jim and Ed guide you through the 'Wish you were here' segment of this weeks' pod, they then discuss the game, the performances that stood out and why it may end up being the right decision to rest so many ahead of...

<...Series 6 - Episode 15: Gloucester do what Gloucester do - a frustrating defeat to previously winless Exeter; Injuries are mounting, how concerning is it? Gloucestershire vs Pokemon Monopoly

As we return for our final pod of 2024, we unfortunately saw Gloucester fail to back up the previously good wins over Northampton and Quins, this time losing to previously winless Exeter away at Sandy Park. More of a concern is the growing injury list with confirmation that Zach Mercer, Ollie Thorley and potentially Afo Fasogbon are all out for the rest of the season.
We chat through the game, the positives including another superb individual performance by Lewis Ludlow and discuss whether the injuries are going to once again limit what we can expect from the rest...

Gloucester won their opening pool game of this seasons Challenge Cup against Edinburgh. It was an ugly win in difficult conditions (not the most entertaining match but a good result in the end). We chat through the game as well as all the weekends action and why its becoming more of a stretch for the average supporter to catch all the games they might want to. We also discuss Glos-Hartpury's return to winning ways before we answer some of your 'Listener questions': What is our go-to pint on match day? What have been Gloucester's most challenging weather experiences?

We discuss the performance, the improvements in overall attitude and the importance of backing this up during the next bank of league fixtures.

Gloucester's young players made it two bonus point wins from two in the Premiership Cup with a win over a competitive and exciting Cornish Pirates side. Meanwhile England suffered late late heartbreak again, as they conceded an 84 minute try and were beaten by Australia at Twickenham.
It was a bad weekend for all the Home Nations as Scotland, Ireland and hilariously Wales were all beaten too. We chat through the games, the key issues and also whether any sporting autobiography is ever any good - particularly as Danny Care has dared to suggest Eddie Jones is a...

Series 6 - Episode 4: Optimism fades as Gloucester defeated by Saracens in home opener. Preview of the Bristol Bears match

There was a genuine if not tempered sense of optimism ahead of Gloucester's first league game of the season. But a youthful Saracens side were far too savvy and clinical leaving the Cherry and Whites with only a try bonus point.
We chat through our thoughts on the game, what went wrong, what might be the easy fixes and whether the optimism we all had was simply misplaced on this occasion or wildly delusional.
