Gettysburg history is just fascinating and no one explores it like we do! Doug Douds is back to ponder the question "who won opn July 1st?" Does it ultimately matter? No. The Rebs still lose in the end. But this question has been bandied about in recent years by historians and it's a fun mental exercise and interesting way to look at the battle from a different perspective.

Isn't Gettysburg history so interesting, the more you dig into it? We think it is. And this one is something we would have loved to witness.

In 1922, the US Marine Corps was fighting for its life. Many in Washington, including the Commander-in-Chief, wanted to disband the Marines even though they fought valiantly in WWI. So, the Marines campaigned to stay alive by showing the American People who they are and why they're needed.

General John A. Lejeune had two goals for the Marine Corps. He wanted Marines to become better fighters by learning from past wa...

As the nation's future hung in the balance, the Weather Gods delivered a wrath of fury on Union and Confederate forces throughout the Gettysburg Campaign. First, record-breaking heat and humidity wore down the warring armies during ungodly forced marches. Next, relentless storms plagued the soldiers with resultant muddy slogs on nearly impassable roads. As the armies met in mortal combat, soul-crushing heat turned the bucolic fields of Gettysburg into a sanguinary and barren expanse.
