Residents 65+ may apply for this assistance by November 22, 2026. The first 200 qualified residents will have access to this program for a cost of $200, with service provided between December 2026 – March 2027.

This program cannot be combined with the Outdoor Maintenance Assistance Program.

Gas prices are expected to jump 6 cents tomorrow and then drop 7 cents on Friday. 
Truck drivers are organizing a protest against high diesel prices. They are planning to park their trucks starting October 1st and go on strike. 
Today marks 45-days until Halloween and 100-days until Christmas.

The Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) has released a new Unsolved video retracing the final steps of a woman murdered in Trenton 25 years ago, as the search continues for those responsible.


In early 2001, 19-year-old Kathleen MacVicar moved to Ontario from her hometown of Glace Bay, Nova Scotia, to begin a life on her own. On Wednesday, June 13, 2001, at approximately 10:00 p.m., Kathleen was seen leaving a friend's house, walking toward Canadian Forces Base (CFB) Trenton, where she was living with relatives. On Saturday, September 5th, at about 12:30 p m, Dufferin OPP were called out to River Road in Mulmur for the report of a serious collision involving a motorcycle with a driver and passenger.

Members of the Dufferin Detachment of the Ontario Provincial Police (OPP), along with Dufferin County EMS attended a serious  single motor vehicle collision in Mulmur.

On Saturday, September 5 , 2026, at approximately 12:20 p.m., officers attended River Road in Mulmur for the report of a serious collision involving a motorcycle with driver and passenger.

It has been 16 years since Sonia VARASCHIN was killed and police continue to investigate and urge the public to come forward with information.

On Monday, August 30, 2010, the former Orangeville Police Service (OPS) launched an investigation after Sonia's white Toyota Corolla was discovered abandoned behind a business on Broadway in downtown Orangeville. Sonia, who was 42 years old, was last seen on Sunday, August 29, 2010, leaving her parents' home in Bolton. At the request of the OPS, the Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) was called to support the investigation.

An assault investigation in Bolton has resulted in an additional charge after the victim succumbed to their injuries.

On Monday, August 24th, shortly after 8:00 p.m., Caledon OPP responded to a report of an assault outside a business near the intersection of King Street West and Queen Street North in Bolton. The victim, identified as 54-year-old Oleksandr GRABYN of Bolton, was transported to hospital with life-threatening injuries and pronounced deceased on Sunday, August 30th.

On August 24th, police laid charges in relation to this investigation.

Officers from the Caledon Detachment of the Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) have charged an individual following an attempted child abduction and are asking for any additional victims or witnesses to come forward.
