Americans have a negative view of Islam
VERBATIM: A new poll from the Pew Research Center finds that 51% of the general public thinks that Islam is more likely than other religions to encourage violence by its followers. 76% of Republicans believe that as do 29% of Democrats. The survey also reveals that 42% of Americans think that Muslims have had a negative impact on the country, versus 17% who say they have had a positive impact and 40% of respondents who say it has been neither good nor bad.
