The girls read Katabasis by R.F Kuang, the author known for Yellowface. The dark fantasy novel delves into themes of ambition, redemption, guilt, and identity as Alice and Peter venture into Hell to rescue their professor. What begins as a mission to save him soon becomes an introspective journey filled with self-discovery and forgiveness. 

Hannah definitely didnt love this book, whereas Paris rather enjoyed it... Tune in to discover the biggest gap between star ratings and opinions on books.  

We just wrapped up our deep dive into "The Emperor of Gladness" by Ocean Vuang, and let me tell you, it was a journey. The contemporary fiction novel felt heavy and emotionally charged, it also left us reflecting on addiction and family dynamics.

This book is a testament to how life can be both ordinary and extraordinary at the same time. Hai's story is a poignant reminder of the complexities of mental health and the impact of relationships.

Hannah and Paris review the historical drama novel, ‘The Women’ by Kristin Hannah. This episode features a lot of love for the author as well as the magnificent story. It focuses on themes of love, grief, mental health struggles and substance abuse.  The book follows Frankie McGrath, a Vietnam war nurse, and her journey to reassimilate into civilisation. What she finds is a nation that doesn’t support the war effort or recognise the efforts made by women who served.
