By 1525, Zwingli and his beloved Zurich was thoroughly Protestant, and the Reformed Christianity became a major force in Christendom. Cruelly murdered after a lost battle on October 11, 1531, Zwingli's task of reforming the church fell to others. In 1536, that task was taken up in Geneva by the scholarly pastor John Calvin; and by 1560 in Scotland, by the firery preacher John Knox. That history makes Zwingli the world's first Presbyterian. The Constitution Day Speaker, Kathryn Kimball Mizelle recently completed clerkships with Associate Justice Clarence Thomas on the US Supreme Court and with Judge Gregory Katsas on the US Court of Appeals for the DC Circuit.
