Cat Filters, Ham Radio, and the Wildest Marathon in History
#169

It turns out the internet didn't invent weirdos—it just gave them a screen. This week, we dive headfirst into the delightfully bizarre subculture of late-night ham radio operators, where the airwaves of the 75-Meter Band feel like an unmoderated 1970s Reddit forum broadcasted out of a garage. We also break down a DIY audio disaster involving cat water fountain filters, trace the unexpected wartime roots of Electro-Voice microphones, and recap the legendary chaos of the 1904 Olympic Marathon (featuring stray dogs, rotten apples, and literal rat poison). Plus, we close with a sober look at the current headlines, tracking Uk...

Pizza Psychopaths, Fast Food Power Rankings, & Space Telecoms
#168

Summer is rapidly approaching, Gregg Allman is blasting, and Bree is officially questioning the psychological stability of anyone who doesn't have an opinion on pizza crust. From the massive 150% menu surge of Detroit-style industrial square pans to the actual data behind America's regional pizza wars, we break down why your food choices dictate your trustworthiness in society. Plus: a quick look at the best fast-food double cheeseburgers, and how SpaceX wants to buy T-Mobile.

Cockatoos, Groceries, & Uncle Jesse
#167
Last Monday at 4:47 PM

Grab your favorite beverage, adjust your blanket situation (unless you're driving, please don't), and get ready to be non-aggressively pampered. Today, Bree breaks down her latest grocery haul—including a highly anticipated $6 bar of Tony's Chocolonely—and dissects why her Discord friend thinks she has "smart cockatoo meets loyal black lab" energy. Plus, we check in on the John Stamos takeover of her newsfeed, review the premiere of 100 Cooks, and ask the ultimate question: Has the Dubai Chocolate trend gone too far now that Pepsi has turned it into a soda? We wrap it all up with a nostalgic trip...

Of Midcentury Libraries, Spy Turtles, and a Knicks Miracle
#166
Last Sunday at 5:12 PM

Grab a warm mug of dark roast and let the rush of the world wash away. Today, Bree celebrates an unbelievable sports milestone before diving into the shifting legacy of corporate giving—asking why today's tech giants give us algorithms instead of the physical libraries of the past. Plus, a nostalgic dive into the bizarre food marketing of the '70s, a look at John Stamos's unexpected internet headlines, and a trip into the strange reality of deep-sea "spy turtles" and recently declassified Pentagon UFO files. Pull up a chair, adjust your headphones, and let's take it slow.

A Little Treat for Your Brain

06/08/2026

Drop your shoulders, unclench your jaw, and welcome home to Bree’s World. In this episode, Bree shares an indulgent musical array, dives into a fascinating little piece of audio history from the 1930s (no test at the end, promise!), and offers a gentle reminder to treat your mind with utmost kindness. Grab a warm drink, settle in, and give yourself permission to just be.

#163
06/05/2026

Grab your coffee and a piece of chocolate, because host Bree is taking you on a wild ride through the delightfully absurd corners of history, tech, and the internet.

In today’s episode, we kick things off with a brief, beautiful musical intermission featuring Sjowgren’s "Cool Over Kind" before diving headfirst into the great late-night debate. Is David Letterman truly the GOAT, or does Johnny Carson still hold the crown? Bree breaks down the subjective nature of late-night comedy and reminisces about the golden era of The Daily Show and The Colbert Report (circa 2000).

Then...

Nicotine Gum, Broken Tables, and My Apology to the Neville Brothers
#162
06/04/2026

Welcome back to Bree’s World! In today’s episode, Bree opens the show with the song "If You Leave" by by Orchestral Manoeuvres in the Dark, clears the palette with some B.B. King and issues a solemn, soul-crushing apology for a major naming error on the last show. Plus, a sudden accidental gift leaves her with 380 pieces of nicotine gum, Sydney inflicts a battle wound right under her eye, and the EV RE320 tracking number is officially being watched. We’re also breaking down a disappointing, greasy trip to Sonic, the magic of lion’s mane mushroom bars, a...

ThinkPad Era Begins, Peach Cottage Cheese Wins & 10,000 Concerts
#151
04/15/2026

I switched to my ThinkPad T470, got a questionable Walmart grocery substitution (peach cottage cheese??), and somehow it actually hit.

Also in this episode: protein mashed potatoes are real, a guy with 10,000+ recorded concerts is uploading history to the internet, Kanye West comeback talk, a woman accidentally ordering the most expensive thing on the menu, and why there might be wild nutrias running around California on purpose.

Random, honest, and kind of all over the place—in a good way.

Also: why Spotify thinks I speak Spanish, early morning rain, and a bizarre case involving a missing nuclear official.

Normal day, right?

Gut Bacteria, AI Drama, and Some Music!!!!
#149
04/12/2026

Today’s episode is a mix of health routines, random thoughts, and some interesting headlines.

I talk about my current cottage cheese routine (yes, pineapple stays separate), drinking a cherry limeade Poppi, and how I might be going a little overboard with probiotics and prebiotics—basically “fibermaxxing” and “bacteria-maxxing” at this point.

Then I get into some thoughts on microplastics (including something weird about kitty litter), and shift into a discussion about the buzz around

Anthropic’s new AI model, Mythos. Some experts are pushing back on the hype—but it raises a bigger question...

We talk about microplastics floating in the air, a missing (and expensive) drone, and some questionable snack innovations like marshmallow peanut butter and pimento cheese crackers. Plus a quick look at new AI cybersecurity tools and a few random projects I’ve been working on lately.

Sonoma County voters approved Measure O to fund mental health, addiction recovery, and homelessness services—but is the money being used as intended? Out of $33.1 million generated, just $625,740 has gone toward housing. In this episode, we dig into where the rest is going, why mental health facilities are receiving the bulk of funding, and what that means for the region’s homelessness crisis.

I dive into Sonoma County’s Meas...

No New Updates (Friend Probably Can't Watch The Cats) + Discord Antics
#141
03/25/2026

Today’s episode is a mix of real-life stress and online nonsense. My friend might not be able to watch my cats after saying she would, and on top of that, Discord has been… interesting, thanks to a certain international user. If you’ve ever dealt with flaky plans or weird internet moments, this one’s for you.

Walmart Haul + Life Updates
#137
03/21/2026

Today’s episode is a mix of the simple and the serious. I go through my Walmart delivery grocery haul—what I got, why I chose it, and how I’m trying to stay grounded in the middle of everything.

I also talk about what’s coming next: my plan to move into the Bridges housing program and what that transition could look like. The biggest piece right now is finding a temporary foster home for my cats before I can make that move, which has been weighing on me a lot.

It’s a real-time...

Too Tired to Figure It All Out
#136
03/20/2026

Just a quick check-in today. I’m feeling really tired and trying to figure out my next move—whether to go straight to the Bridges temporary housing program or take the longer route through Opportunity House.

I also started writing a Craigslist and Nextdoor post to try and find a place for my cats, but I haven’t actually posted it yet.

This episode is kind of a snapshot of where I’m at mentally right now—no big conclusions, just real life in progress.

I Have to Temporarily Give Up My Cats
#135
03/19/2026

I had an interview today that could change my life — a real chance at stability, housing, something better.

There’s just one problem: I can’t bring my cats.

In this episode, I talk about Starshine and Sydney, what they mean to me, and the impossible decision I’m facing — stay in an unstable situation to keep them, or let them go so I can move forward.

I don’t have an answer yet. I just know I have to figure it out soon.

Ides of March Smoothies: Walmart Groceries, Healthy Habits & Hanging with the Cats
#133
03/15/2026

On the Ides of March, Bree checks in from home while hanging out with the cats and recording on a Blue Yeti USB Microphone. After two months of dieting and eating healthier, things are feeling noticeably better—both physically and mentally.

This episode is a laid-back grocery haul and lifestyle update: smoothie experiments with a Hamilton Beach Personal Blender, fruit-heavy snacks (bananas, apples, oranges), frozen strawberries, frozen Greek yogurt, and cottage cheese cups. There’s also a mix of practical pantry items like Ben's Original Spanish-style rice, organic black beans, ramen, and deli-style tuna salad pouches.
