As the Silver Medal recipient of the Leeds International Piano Competition in 1972, he was launched into an international career as a performer and recording artist. Nicholas Pike is the composer of the Oscar nominated song "Sweet Dreams of Joy" from the documentary film "VIVA VERDI!". I sit down for an engaging interview ahead of the 2026 Oscars to discuss his background, his inspirations and how he came to be writing songs for film.
