Hear Me Out!

Any hope for a familiar reality within these podcast walls best retire and retreat, lest that ill-fated hope slowly and painfully perish of thirst for lack of viable sustenance. For real, this episode is a party, packed with enough Mischief Night Mayhem to make your head spin! No regular format this week - only extra spooky games, trick-or-treaters that give treats, cartoons in costumes, costumes of cartoons and some of the most terrifying soda flavor creations to ever come to life (srsly tho, Fanta - hit us up! We really did it, yeah??).

Happy Halloween! We love...

BOOYAH it’s round two with screenwriter and podcaster, Scotty Landes!! Aileen and Nicole are delighted to have one of Hollywood’s most positive dudes back on the pod to discuss a smorgasbord of topics, from international travel to horror movies to wizards being fired from their jobs. Btw who hired the wizard in the first place…? Scotty also dives into the nitty gritty of working within the never-ending chaos that is the film industry amidst a handful of classic Hear Me Out games and activities. Does Scotty’s knowledge of weird news give him the edge in the Two Trut...

Welcome to the floor show! Whether you feel like a wild and untamed thing or see yourself as a more subdued Colonel Mustard type, this episode has something for everyone: music, comedy, glitter, communism (it’s just a red herring), monkey brains, human brains, butlers, maids, time warps, secret passageways and Tim Curry Tim Curry Tim Curry!! Ooh and curry popcorn!

On this dark and stormy night, Aileen & Nicole find themselves on the steps of one very creepy mansion to celebrate the life and work of the late, great Timothy James Curry with lively discussions of The Ro...

As Dolly Parton once said, “Find out who you are and do it on purpose, with purpose” and over the course of this week’s episode it becomes 100% obvious that Dolly was a self-assured, intelligent woman of her word.

Join Aileen & Nicole as they have a rootin’ tootin’ boot scootin’ good time celebrating the life and work of the beloved legend of sight and sound, Miss Dolly Rebecca Parton. They cover two of her early acting roles, Doralee in 9 to 5 and Miss Mona in The Best Little Whorehouse in Texas, and get down to the nitty gritty of what it me...

Have you enjoyed the last year of Hear Me Out! as much as Hear Me Out! has enjoyed bringing you the last year?? Hope so because this episode is nothing short of a disco dance party celebrating the joy and growth the podcast has experienced over the last 12 months. Aileen and Nicole completely abandon all of the show’s traditional formats to make room for a supercut of lol-inducing cut-ups, a slew of embarrassing linguistic stats and enough pop quizzes to make your head spin. And then. There was this cake. You will want to hear about the cake. Th...

“Happy Friday, HMOmies! Today is August 21 and it’s a great day to learn something new. The lunch ladies are serving grape jelly Uncrustables and iced brownies for lunch, and don’t forget - any Ramones records found during our mandatory drug testing will be added to the ever-growing bonfire in the courtyard. Let’s make today amazing!!”

Woohoo! It’s back to school season and Hear Me Out went all in this week like a cheer squad on speed. During first period, Aileen & Nicole cover the usual with what they’ve watched since the last episo...

From the grey divides of cold war Berlin to the colorful landscape of the New Zealand bush, there’s nowhere a Sam Neill performance could go that audiences wouldn’t lovingly follow. Didn’t matter if he was dastardly chopping a finger or tenderly resting atop a dinosaur, his presence spiced up any film’s storyline. He brought depth and humor with him to every character he embodied, all for the love of acting and making other people happy. And for that, he will be greatly missed.

This week, Hear Me Out celebrates the two ends of Sam Neill...

~*Here's just a little something from the new book we’re working on! We don’t want to have to drink : ) *~

Oblivious Boy! Selfish Empty-headed Splinters Spawned Ill-fated One-wish Nikki!

And now, foolish Bear, you must face the choices you make through the very actions you refuse to take. May they strike as hard as bricks and offer as much comfort as you did Sandy.

Who’s ready to dive into the depths with Aileen and Nicole this week as they discuss the horror phenomenon Obsession?! Find out the verdict on cat...

Yeehaw! Hop on board with Aileen and Nicole as they kick the tires, light the fires and get ready to defeat some alien scum because it’s the 30th anniversary of Independence Day, big daddies!!! Hunker down in your bunkers as the ladies navigate their way through the movie’s plot and fun facts, nuking the conversation with plenty of sidebar games and activities. If this is all getting a little too punny for you, then you picked a hell of a week to quit drinking. You’ll get that joke twofold once you listen.

After the movie...

At 100 years old - today! HBD, Mel! - Melvin James Brooks (né Kaminsky), continues his work as a comedic force with which to be reckoned. In honor of one Hear Me Out’s favorite guys, here is a re-release of our episode covering his life and work. Ain’t it good to still be the king?

Original description: Men in tights! Interracial friendships! Sexually liberated women! Satire in the face of fascism! For almost a century, Mel Brooks has been delightfully sticking it to The Man with his trademark blend of slapstick comedy and social commentary. Love that...

With a prolific career spanning nearly seventy years, Steven Spielberg is one of the world’s most beloved movie directors and his latest effort, Disclosure Day, proves in a big way that he’s still got it. Aileen and Nicole go in depth (big spoilers!) discussing the new release: their thoughts, feelings - oh so many feelings - and theories regarding what it all means and why it made such an impact on so many people. Before they get into all that, they both share a breakdown of their favorite classic Spielberg movies with plenty of games and activities to k...

Awoken and emblazoned by the power of atomic energy over 70 years ago, Godzilla swiftly became the Japanese King of the Kaiju, securing a place in pop culture as one of the most iconic and revered forces of nature of all time. Skreeeonk!

This week, Aileen and Nicole tackle the bookends of this infallible beast with their breakdown of 1954’s Godzilla (Gojira) and 2023’s Godzilla Minus One mixing summaries of the films with a healthy dose of world history and games for some much-needed levity. There are some exciting new activities introduced plus a delightful new round of Trap...

To say four movies about technicolor hyper-sexual goth ~VIBES~ led Aileen & Nicole to reconsider all of their life decisions up to this point might be a slight exaggeration. Not much of one though. But hey! At least they had a good time and something something it’s all about the journey, right?

And what a journey it is as the ladies wrap up the second part of this series with The Love Witch and “Wuthering Heights.” According to the general public’s opinion, this episode is going to offer quite the differing perspective on both so definitely tune in t...

Bright lights! Beautiful people! Big excitement! Maybe none of that at all! Decide for yourself if this week’s movies fit into the theme in part ONE of Aileen & Nicole’s TWO part series discussing and soaking in Technicolor Hyper-Sexual Goth ~Vibes~ or whatever some of these movies think they’re doing…

By pure coincidence, part one covers male-directed films while part two will showcase more recent female-directed ones leading to an interesting conversational dynamic. Kinda like a “gimme the bad news first so I can enjoy the good news” sort of thing. So, sorry about that but there ar...

Grab your red ribbons, put some flowers in your hair and get ready to crash head first into surreal worlds of anxiety, misandry and straight up whatthefuckery as Aileen & Nicole discuss May Day traditions and corresponding themes over the course of almost THIRTY movies and tv shows. Wowza.

This episode has a little bit of everything - history, an unprecedented number of mad libs, two different surprise treats and plenty of laughs. Oh and this wretched round of Trapped in a Car is almost over but this week’s additions are another round of hideous doozies. Mary Al...

Holy cow, you won’t believe this week’s podcast! What is it, you ask? Well, it’s an audio program made available in digital format for automatic download over the Internet but there’s no time for formal definitions - we have spoof movies to discuss!

Take to the skies with Aileen & Nicole as they tell you about it. What? All about the movies Airplane! and They Came Together, which are both hilarious. You can say that again. All about the movies Airplane! and They Came Together, which are both hilarious. Tell me about it.

Nope, no...

Hey, buds!! Definitely grab a snack for this wild ride because Donovan from the podcast Too T3rpd joins Aileen & Nicole in celebrating the ~magic~ of marijuana, both in spirit and for real for real. Another pal rolls in and out of the conversation for some extra LOLs as an extra treat. Treats are sooo good. Don’t forget to stock up on treats.
What? Oh right, anyway, the gang knocks out a couple of hits with a continuation of the worst round of Trapped in a Car and some dope Blimpets. They also cover a lot of tv...

So what if St. Patrick’s Day is already over? Isn’t the rule that the whole week gets to be birthday week? Wait is that not what St. Pat’s is - Ireland’s birthday?! Jk jk all the Guiness is gone so we had to craic open the Paddy’s and things have gone considerably off the rails.

Aileen & Nicole keep things moving, though, with a feisty discussion about The Matchmaker, Waking Ned Devine and In Bruges. Watch out now because there are A LOT of FMKs for three decidedly un-horny movies. But let’s be real, Ral...

Bitchy friends. Bad spouses. Bombs everywhere. Each its own uniquely hellish landscape that has, at one point or another, been analyzed painstakingly so as to be broken down and then crafted into the most enjoyably digestible entertainment. Who the heck can multi-task like that?! Women, that’s who! Probably some other people, too, but today’s class is about women and the films they direct.

Aileen and Nicole are back to basics with the ~classic~ three film format this week, each having assigned a first watch to the other and the third choice being a first watch for...

If your favorite film is Ahhhhhviator and you know just how much ~*God loves a terrier*~ then this is the Hear Me Out! episode for you. Whether you’re here for Cookie, Sally, Kate or Moira, there is absolutely no shortage of delectable activities for whatever your proclivities.

So grab your headphones and listen up, ya filthy animals, it’s been a rocky road to (Dublin) get here but Catherine O’Hara is worth it! You cutie pie listeners are worth it! The hard work will always be worth it, Alexahhs!

Intro Music...

Hey friends! Due to technical difficulties, our Catherine O’Hara episode is ever so slightly delayed until next Friday. We’re back on track after that so it’s a one-two hit with a celebration of female directors the following week. What a time to be alive, things are nuts but we sure do love ya. Everyone get some sleep and we’ll see you next Friday❤️

Men in tights! Interracial friendships! Sexually liberated women! Satire in the face of fascism! For almost a century, Mel Brooks has been delightfully sticking it to The Man with his trademark blend of slapstick comedy and social commentary. Love that for him.

In an episode that is on brand with the meshugaas of Brooks’ work, Aileen and Nicole go slightly off the rails while discussing his filmography, personal life and an exciting discovery about youngest son Max Brooks’ career path. There’s also a brand new, obnoxious round of Trapped in a Car plus everyone’s favorite segment...

Join the likes of Nigel Tufnel and Dr. Ian Kelson, turn this episode up to 11 and get ready to RAAAGE with Aileen and Nicole as they celebrate the greatest horror movie of 2026 (and of all time??), Nia DaCosta’s 28 Years Later: The Bone Temple. They address the minor controversy surrounding one of the film makers’ character inspirations but spend most of the time gushing. It’s a really good movie, you guys.

Following the discussion, it’s a full-blown celebration of the spectacular Aileen herself who had a birthday this week! Find out fun birthday facts about January 2...

Last year will, of course, be most remembered for introducing Blimpets to the world. Those delicious, delectable, delightful bits and baubles that make life worth living, make the good fight worth fighting!! Lol jk 2025 was crazy as hell. But while the last twelve months might have been super bizarre and often scary, indulging in Blimpets wherever possible certainly made things more fun.

In this first episode of the new year, Aileen and Nicole each count down ten of their favorite things from 2025. From movies and shows to activities and even people, hear what they h...

Happy Nothing, Professors! It’s that joyous time of year again so grab the eggnog, nosh some grub and prepare the sacrifices while We (royal) settle in to celebrate a little bit of everything on this week’s episode.

Ever wonder how many deities were born on December 25th? Or which holiday myths have been holding humanity hostage in a world of lies? What would an ideal casting of A Christmas Carol look like or did The Muppets execute it perfectly, no notes? All these mysteries unveiled plus so, so much more as Aileen & Nicole explore the w...

LOOK OUT! It’s only Movies with Which to be Laid to Rest!

Alas, we have passed. Just kidding, no passing away for us! But stay tuned in right here to find out how if we had, what we’d bring to watch if we did, the things that shaped us before we do and which films we’re enjoying the most while we don’t. Pretty sure everything is over anyway since there’s an opinion rift re: Terminator 2 Judgement Day.

Stuff your ears with the delicious sounds of a friendly post-Turkey Day decompression. Or maybe all the madness that comes with the (*illegally obtained) holiday territory will erupt forth from you like a boiled gravy, amping you up in the name of truth and justice everywhere, consequently leading to you cleaning the grout with a toothbrush. Nothin’ left to do but listen and find out, ya turkeys!

Plenty more puns and LOLs where that came from on this week’s episode when Aileen and Nicole dig into the uniquely American tradition that is the celebration of The Alli...

🎼🎶The pod is alive with the sound of muuusic🎶🎼 Join Aileen & Nicole this week as they slink through the streets of London then onward to Paris, exploring heartache, freedom, love…And Mad Libs? Get HALLOWEEN EXXXTREME with Aileen and Nicole this week while they cover as much creepy crawly territory possible. Beginning with their fave festive flick picks, things eventually spiral into depravity and madness with unhinged FMKs, sassy little slideshows and enough blasphemy to shock Mr. LaVey himself. Listen closely, though, because there just might be a sweet little summary of how their friendship began tucked in amongst the chaos. Grab plenty o’ candy snacks cuz these birds sure went for it this time innit?!

Intro/Outro Music: “Haddonfield, Illinois” by My Revenge!

On this week's episode, Aileen and Nicole are joined by special guest, screenwriter, podcast host, and all-around really cool dude, Scotty Landes! He did not disappoint when he supplied a perfect list of some of his favorite freaky films spanning the decades. Listen as the ladies eventually figure out how to talk to a famous person and find out which horror trope scares these three more than anything else: will they choose to swim in shark-infested waters, hang out in narrow underground tunnels or take their chances against an enraged psycho killer? Which movie do YOU think would make...

Eat the rich, ignore government protocols, save the adorable kids. Those are the directives on this week’s episode as Aileen and Nicole take the deepest dive yet into communication failures with Train to Busan, The Host and The Night Eats the World. Could it be possible that the most disgusting FMK of all time is buried somewhere deep within? Could it also be possible that overarching authority is the spookiest monster of all? Happy October!!

It’s all fun and games on this week’s episode as Aileen and Nicole dive head first into the Coen Brothers. The worlds within Raising Arizona, O Brother, Where Art Thou and Burn After Reading prove fruitful territory for FMKs, character superlatives and much more.
