The sheriff who has become the national face of the Nancy Guthrie investigation, is now legally defending himself against growing accusations of misconduct. Pima County Sheriff Chris Nanos is under fire for not being honest about his past work history, including 8 reported suspensions while working as an officer in El Paso. Among the allegations, that he nearly beat a handcuffed suspect to death with a flashlight. A process to remove the sheriff could begin as early as mid-May, as the investigation into Guthrie’s disappearance continues.

The long awaited autopsy report was finally released by the medical examiner and it showed a brutal and gruesome death for 14-year-old Celeste Rivas Hernandez. Singer D4vd is due back in court today, pushing prosecutors to reveal the evidence they have against him, as he maintains his innocence. 58-year-old Chadwick Scott Willacy will die by lethal injection at 6 pm tonight for the brutal murder of his neighbor nearly 36 years ago. Scott was convicted of first degree murder after bludgeoning, strangling and then setting 56-year-old Marlys Sather on fire. Sather’s son has been waiting decades for justice and plans to witness Willacy’s execution tonight.

The LA District Attorney just announced first degree murder charges against singer D4vd for the killing of 14-year-old Celeste Rivas Hernandez. Authorities say David Anthony Burke invited Celeste to his Hollywood Hills home on April 23rd last year and that was the last time she was seen alive. Burke is also charged with lewd and lascivious acts with a minor and mutilating human remains. Police say there is enough physical and digital forensic evidence to prove Burke murdered the teen, beyond a reasonable doubt. Burke’s attorneys maintain their client’s innocence.

An investigation is underway following a mass shooting in Shreveport, Louisiana early this morning that left 8 children dead. Details are still emerging, but right now police say a total of 10 people were shot, and the 8 who were killed ranged in age between 1 and 14-years-old. New DNA technology has allowed police to finally link notorious serial killer Ted Bundy to the brutal rape and murder of 17-year-old Laura Ann Aime. The teenager was found a month after she went missing from a Halloween party in 1974, her body naked, bound and badly beaten. DNA sitting in an evidence locker for more than 50 years was finally able to be recognized and matched to Bundy’s, creating a DNA profile that investigators say can now be used to provide answers in other unsolved cases where Bundy was a suspect.

An Alabama doctor has been charged with manslaughter after his patient died during surgery. Prosecutors say the doctor made an unfathomable mistake:  he removed the wrong organ. The patient was supposed to have his spleen removed, but instead, the doctor took out his liver. But, it’s not the first time the doctor has made such a mistake, and it’s not the first time one of his patients died from surgery.

This is a breaking story.  Police just confirmed that former lieutenant governor of Virginia Justin Fairfax and his wife were found dead at their home overnight.  Police say it was a murder-suicide and that the couple's two teenage kids were at home dring the incident. One of them called 9-1-1. Police say the couple was going through a "messy" divorce. Fairfax was a rising star in politics before accusations from two women changed his fate.

Victoria Police have confirmed to an Australian news outlet they are investigating pop star Katy Perry after claims made by Ruby Rose regarding a 2010 incident. Rose went on social media first, detailing an alleged sexual assault by Perry at a Melbourne nightclub. Perry has categorically denied the incident and posted a message to fans in response to Rose’s allegations.

A fifth woman has come forward, accusing Congressman Eric Swalwell of rape. Lana Drewes just held a powerful, emotional press conference where she detailed a horrific account of what she says happened in a Beverly Hills hotel room in 2018. She describes being incapacitated from one glass of wine and then being choked so violently she lost consciousness. Drewes announced she was going straight to law enforcement from the presser to make a criminal report against Swalwell.

After 5 days in Bahamian police custody, 58-year-old Brian Hooker is a free man. His wife, Lynette remains missing after he claims she fell overboard from their 8 foot dinghy in rough seas. News outlets have revealed text messages where Lynette described a rocky relationship, saying she “can’t be out there with him” referring to boating with Brian. Despite suggestions of foul play from Lynette’s daughter and friends of the couple, authorities say they don’t have enough evidence for charges, however, Brian Hooker remains a suspect as the search continues for Lynette.

The 16-year-old stepbrother of Anna Kepner has officially been charged with first degree murder and aggravated sexual abuse after Kepner was found asphyxiated, under her bed on a Carnival cruise ship in November of last year. Her step-brother is being charged as an adult and prosecutors say he is “a danger to others” claiming he committed “the most serious, egregious and violative crimes one person can inflict upon another.”

California Congressman Eric Swalwell has officially ended his bid for Governor, announcing on X late Sunday that it’s his fight to face false allegations, not his campaign’s. Swalwell is facing a criminal investigation in Manhattan for an alleged rape of a former staffer in 2024 and a possible expulsion vote in Congress this week. The Manhattan DA’s office has opened a criminal investigation into the allegations made by Congressman Eric Swalwell’s former staff member who claims Swalwell raped her in a New York City hotel room in 2024. 58-year-old Brian Hooker told a friend via text that his wife fell overboard in choppy seas and “swam towards the sailboat” the night she went missing in the Bahamas. Hooker’s texts to a friend reveal new and inconsistent information surrounding the disappearance of 55-year-old Lynette Hooker. Hooker remains behind bars, and has not yet been charged in his wife’s disappearance, but his attorney says he nearly drowned himself while being arrested and is “heartbroken and deeply distressed.”

A three judge panel is weighing whether to acquit Sean “Diddy” Combs or reduce the 50 month sentence he received at trial. Comb’s attorneys argued their client received the highest sentence ever imposed for the prostitution crimes he was convicted of last summer.
