Matt tells me that First-Team managers are under so much pressure to deliver results. With their jobs on the line, they are more inclined to give experienced players a chance ahead of an academy graduate.

This is one of the challenges faced at Port Vale and the club is trying to change it's philoshy to give academy players more opportunities to play First-Team football.
