Universe of Weirdos
Discussion in Democracy - A 1948 PSA Review
It's time to vote, and we have a lot to learn about democracy itself. We take a trip back to 1948 and learn all about what is going to happen once our elected candidates take office. We get to join in on a group of students who want to help their city with their fire problems. Aside from stopping an arsonist, they debate whether or not a new fire engine is the solution. As always, we will review the modern relevancy, and in this case some VERY awful acting. Come fellas and dames, back to 1948 and learn everything we need...
Sometimes Politics Are Funny
Meet me at the Four Seasons, because I am going to grab you by the podcast. We got weird screams, we got Bushisms, applause beggars, and weird mayors. We strip away the issues and bring both parties together in order to have a laugh at some of the funny side of politics. And of course, we answer the hard hitting questions, like "what's wrong with the beer we got?".
Origins of All Things Scary
Wrapping up our Spooky Season Specials with the origins of horror and Halloween. Who was the first serial killer? Where did werewolves, zombies, and vampires come from? What was the first alien sighting? Who invented trick-or-treat? And most importantly... Where did that razor apple, poison candy urban legend come from? Has anyone ever been poisoned by Halloween candy? We have the answers in this episode!
Chilling with Cryptids and Creatures
I made a list of 20 cryptids to talk about. Mainly, because I am running out of ideas for Halloween themed shows. I go over some classics, shout-out some lesser known monsters, and rank my personal Top 5 creepy creatures. Call up your favorite sasquatch and let them know that this episode is now available.
Best Headlines from the Weekly World News
We're back to talk about everyone's favorite grocery store tabloid rag. The Weekly World News was The Onion before the internet. It provided us with amazing stories about Gay Aliens, Time Traveling Titanic Survivors, and of course Bat Boy. I go through some of my favorite stories from The Weekly World News and we try to figure out if they are real or not... Of course they're not.
Remembering Sylvia Browne - A Psychic Grifter
Today, we remember and romance the most famous psychic of all time. Sylvia Browne wrote 40 books, appeared on every crap talk show, and grifted her way into a $70 million fortune. I go over my own personal memories of Sylvia, why I thought she was a trash romance novelist, and how she inspired the idea for my first piece of podcast merch. Not only that, but we listen to some of her most uncomfortable and incredibly awkward incorrect "readings". Come channel Sylvia Browne from the afterlife with me!
The Worst of Halloween - with Sean Jones Jr.
Check out Nerd and Life with Sean Jones Jr. wherever you get podcasts. Sean and I are going over, what we consider, the worsts of Halloween. Worst Candy. Worst Costume. Worst Monster. We discuss all of this and more. Be sure to listen to the Universe of Weirdos crossover on the Nerd and Life feed and follow Sean's show.
Laughing at The Weepy Voiced Killer
Back with another true crime story for spooky season. This is one guy that always fascinated me, because killers usually call 911 to taunt or leave clues. This guy decided to call to cry and whine about what a piece of garbage he was. Come listen to this psycho's 911 calls with me. I do my best to keep it funny, but we are talking about a psychopath who liked to ice pick people to death.
Halloween Safety (Second Edition) - A 1985 PSA Review
I'm back with Brother Dan to discuss more Halloween Safety tips. This time, it's from a public service announcement from 1985 instead of 1977. Same production company, but a more updated message. Does this one contain more relevant safety tips? Will the kids avoid razor apples and glass filled candy? Come back in time with us and let's find out together.
Halloween Safety - A 1977 PSA Review
It's time to get ready for Halloween, which means it's time to fire up the time machine and go back to 1977 for some safety tips. We get to hear what Halloween was like in the 70's and help a little witch have the safest trick-or-treat experience possible. As always, we give the PSA a good review and judge it's message and relevancy.
Did the Storyville Slayer Call The Howard Stern Show?
In August of 1997, a man named Clay called into The Howard Stern Show to claim he was a serial killer. Years have passed, more information has come to light, and it seems like this might have been a legitimate call. Around this same time, from where this man was calling from, there were several unsolved prostitute murders. Some details are different, but would a legit killer really give away all the information to catch him? Let's listen to the call and examine for ourselves. Was the caller Clay actually Russell Ellwood, the Storyville Slayer?
Reliving the Satanic Panic
We are kicking off spooky season by revisiting the Satanic Panic of the 80's/90's. We react to extremist preachers telling us that everything sci-fi is the devil. He-Man, ET, Rainbow Brite, all of them pure evil! This is not an anti-religion episode. It's simply a reaction to the weird overreaction of the things that I liked as a child and was told were evil.
Nostradamus and the Fine Art of Vague Nonsense
Nostradamus predicted so many things! Did he, though? Did he really? I'm diving into Nostradamus' predictions to examine what he allegedly got right, what he absolutely got wrong, and what we are still waiting to happen. Does any of it make sense, or is it all just vague horse crap? Let's examine this 500 years of predicting nothing.
Turning the Corner on Jerry Banfield - A Podcast Apology
I made fun of him, called him a creep, and picked him apart relentlessly. I take none of that back, but I will say this... I like Jerry Banfield. He's hilarious. His videos make me laugh, and yeah, maybe it's AT him and not WITH him, but he is still providing legitimate quality entertainment on YouTube. So, I am back to give his content a fair review. We travel with Jerry to an AA meeting and find out exactly why the internet is starting to love him so much. He's overly honest, somewhat delusional, says the quiet parts out...
Pocketful of Oddities
I'm doing a mix bag of bizarre clips for this episode. These are strange things I have collected in the playlist over the past year, with no real category to fit into, other than just "weird". We get to learn about ice cream tasting, bowel care, and listen to Urkel's attempt to make music. You get all of this wackiness and so much more, on this random and silly episode.
Alcohol is Dynamite - A 1958 PSA Review
We are going back to the 1950's once again, to learn about the evils of drinking, and specifically underage drinking. What starts as two teens just looking for an adult to buy them some booze, turns into an epic lecture that holds these kids hostage on the sidewalk. Crack open a cold one, jump back in time with us, and enjoy or you'll be one dead duck, buster.
Origins of Hack Comedy
Ever wonder what the oldest recorded joke in history is? Who wrote the chicken crossing the road joke? What about The Man from Nantucket? Knock, knock. We've got answers for you. We trace the origins of open mic hackery all the way to the first person to do stand up on TV. Break out your propeller hat and be sure to share this episode with your favorite birthday clown. Wocka, wocka.
Reviewing Jerry Banfield Dating - A Predator Fit for a Queen
Jerry Banfield has his own dating channel on Youtube. Jerry offers you advice on your dating life. Jerry also made a private video for a woman he was trying to date, and that video is now public. Jerry shows what a creep he his, what a manipulator he is, and how he will weaponize anything he can in order to get what he wants. This dude is a hypocrite and has no room to give anyone dating advice. I challenge anyone to listen to this man and think he shouldn't have to pre-register for certain offender registries.

Mel Gibson Meltdown Part 3 - Fakers
The Finale of our Mel Gibson meltdown review. Let's go Beyond Thunderdome and listen to Mel scream more about oral, get creative with the insults, and leave a lot of really odd voicemails. Things get glum, things get common, but they always remain angry. Be sure to hit up Spotify or Amazon Music and check out some of Oksana's tunes.
Mel Gibson Meltdown Part 2 - Grief and Bad Publicity
We're diving back into the Mel Gibson tapes. Oksana isn't the best at balancing sound levels, but we still do our best. We talk about Mel's struggle to hold onto the power dynamic in this failed relationship, and how he really doesn't want it to end. Lots of over-the-top fake anger and attempts to make Oksana feel bad, but it comes with a lot of hilariously quotable lines. Look forward to me and Oksana's duet album "Going to Jacuzzi" coming this Christmas.
Mel Gibson Meltdown Part 1 - Just Smile
Part One of Three. It's been 10 years since Mel Gibson destroyed his career and we are going to revisit those infamous tapes. Mel and Oksana have a pretty typical, shallow, Hollywood relationship, but Mel wants something more from their dynamic. He thought he could buy a woman and then got mad when she spent his money. A hypocritical tale as old as time. We listen to the first part and try to see the comedy in this awful situation. It's hard not to laugh at Mel Gibson as he gets way too over-the-top with his anger.

Addressing Tragedies and Answering Questions
It's another FAQ episode, but I am addressing the thing that has been bothering me over the last couple of weeks. Trigger warning: It is gross and my departed former-friend is disgusting. But, I do go over some listener questions. Will I use AI to write jokes? What would be my internet grift, if I wanted to pull a Clara Dao? Have I ever had a gay experience? Come listen to this weirdness of a feedback and questions show!
The Internet Will Never Catch On
I'm still not really feeling myself, but I don't take time off. I am going over some stuff from the mid-90's that explains the internet. What is Internet? Is it a place you can go? It's bizarre to hear people not understand something that is so dominant in our lives today. Come travel this information super-highway with me and learn all about the internet and online shopping. Will it ever catch on?
Podcast Therapy - An AI Producer Show
I've been dealing with a personal tragedy and lost a friend that I was very close with. On top of that, I have a cold. On top of that, my town is flooded. Life is rough and pretty depressing right now, so I need some podcast therapy. I owe it to you and myself to at least TRY to be funny. So, instead of wasting a perfectly good premise on a dark and depressing mood, I am going to let Squeak McBeak takeover and produce this one for me. I hope you enjoy another special AI Producer episode.
<...Habit Patterns - A 1954 PSA Review
The Universe of Weirdos time machine is fixed up and ready to blast back to present day, but we have unfinished business in 1954. We've previewed this Habit Patterns PSA on a few previous episodes, and I don't like how crappy the narrator is treating our friend Barbara. Like, always, we will review the relevancy of this educational film, but we are also going stick up for Barbara and defend her personality. We might even put her in the time machine and bring her back with us.
Marriage for Moderns - A 1954 PSA Review
The time machine is broken down and I am stuck in the 1950's. We drop in on Frank and Honey, who are having some marriage problems. This educational film from 1954 is still surprisingly relevant, when it comes to things couples argue about. We help them determine Who's Right, where they are going wrong in their relationship, and how they might be able to fix it.
What Makes a Good Party? - A 1950 PSA Review
Brother Dan joins me, once again, as we hop in the time machine to blast back to 1950. We go over an old PSA that teaches us how to have a good party. As usual, we go over the audio, decide if the advice is good advice, and add our own twist of modern relevance. Put on your finest poodle skirt and get ready to party like it's 1949.
Learning About Clara Dao
Join me as I learn who Clara Dao is in real time. A text conversation between me and an old friend turns into a strange podcast episode, as I learn all about body-positive influencer Clara Dao and how she betrayed her entire fanbase. I've never done a show like this before, so I hope it's entertaining enough.
SummerSlam Wrestle Cringe
I'm back to react to more wrestling failures. Summerfest, N-words, slurs, going off script, and of course Scott Steiner. I am here to check out this fan requested wrestling promo awfulness. Celebrate the end of WWE Summerslam the correct way, by listening to wrestlers screw up with me.
FAQ 102
Feedback and Questions! I recorded this episode five minutes after waking up. A lot of Opie feedback to go over. I hate mosquitos. How is the vibe different from when I do solo shows versus a co-host? How many clips do I decide to react to spontaneously without listening to them first? And I also give out some advice to a listener going through their first breakup. If you want in on a future FAQ episode, send your feedback and/or questions to [email protected]
Universe of Weirdos 101
Welcome to University of Weirdos. I'm going over some of my favorite clips that I have reacted to on previous episodes, and I am reacting to them again. If you are looking for a good place to jump into the podcast, or some recommendations for previous episodes to listen to, this episode is for you. I don't know how you can't be happy about that, okay baby? B'bye.
Controversies with Candace Parker - A Planet W Crossover
My two podcast worlds collide once again, as me and Brother Dan go over some oddities in the life of basketball legend Candace Parker. She found herself involved in a strange situation with Don Imus and she also participated in the WNBA's own version of Malice at the Palace. Join us for a fun time mocking a racist and examining an epic basketball brawl. Subscribe to Planet W wherever you get podcasts.
Growing Up Funny
My most requested topic to discuss on this podcast is my journey into comedy. This is the best you're gonna get. I find comedy to be pretty boring as a business, so I will give you my experience of growing up as a funny kid, being a funny adult, and trying to pursue funny as a career. Comedy can be pretty serious sometimes.
Making Fun of Opie Radio - A Podcast Panhandler
I am back to do a follow-up from my November review of Mr. 1 of 5 himself, Opie Radio! Gregg "Opie" Hughes recently discovered that episode and decided to try to mock me out for doing so. This is my response to Opie coming after me directly, and disputing his claims that he is a success, a millionaire, or someone that is even remotely entertaining. Come laugh at Spuds Buckley with all of us!
Improve Your Personality - A 1951 PSA Review
We are back in the Time Machine and blasting back to the 1950's once again. This time, we are improving our personalities. These tips from a 1951 instructional film will surely help us become the hippest guys and gals on the block and get us plenty of swell dames and/or fellas.
In Training
We are going over some really bad training videos. We have another Wendy's song, some awful KFC nonsense, and even some training how to be a real man. Get ready for some really awkward audio, but you might just learn something. It's time for some training.
Girls Beware (1979) - The Sequel
Brother Dan is back with me to go over the sequel to the 1961 "Girls Beware" PSA. We will question the message, the relevance, and the effectiveness. We will also make fun of a lot of the really silly stuff. Don't miss this one, especially you ladies out there. Your life could depend on it.
The Dating Game of Life
I'm here to help your dating life! We'll go over some old audio teaching you how to flirt and we will see if there are any singles in the area that are right for you. This episode is your source for all things romance. Guaranteed to land you a significant other, or your money back!
Boys Beware (1980) - The Sequel
Wrapping up Pride Month the only way the Universe of Weirdos knows how. We are making fun on an anti-gay PSA from 1980. It is a sequel to the 1961 PSA of the same name, that we reviewed in a previous episode. Come listen, laugh, and make fun of this homophobic nonsense with us, as we end Pride Month in style.
Fa-Q, Buddy
Feedback and Questions. Once again going over some of your odd inquiries and feedback to the last batch of episodes. Am I a good dad? Was I bullying the Final Fantasy cult? Which character could I soul bond with? And, of course, a nice backhanded compliment. I cover all this and more in my latest FAQ episode.
