“He was just running.” Last week Vee and I discussed Hulu’s “Candy” starring Jessica Biel and this week I discuss HBO’s “Love & Death” starring Elizabeth Olsen with Hammer. The same true crime story told by two different streaming platforms. Both done extremely well and done within a year of each other. This one also stars Jesse Plemons as Allan Gore, Lily Rabe as Betty Gore, Patrick Fugit as Pat Montgomery and Elizabeth Olsen as Candy Montgomery. It’s a very shocking, fascinating and sad true crime case that people are talking about to this day.

“What is it… Judge Dredd?!” In our season 6 premiere we’re talking about the movie “Mercy.” We were pleasantly surprised by how much we enjoyed this movie. Chris Pratt, Rebecca Ferguson, and Kenneth Choi (Whom I immediately recognized from “Sons of Anarchy”) star in this movie about an AI justice system in Los Angeles. Yikes! Not gonna lie… feels a little weird… was Skynet involved in the creation of the Mercy Program? Where’s John Connor at?! It’s just a theory.

“They’re all gonna die.” How’d we spend our New Year’s Eve? Well, at the movie theater of course! We went and saw a midnight showing of the “Stranger Things” series finale on the BIG screen! Before we went to the showing, we sat down and recorded a little something about what led up to the finale and what our predictions and hopes were for how it all plays out. “Lightning really does strike twice.” We went to yet another surprise mystery movie at our local theater and it was “Song Sung Blue” starring Hugh Jackman and Kate Hudson. A real life love story about Thunder and Lightning a Neil Diamond experience. It comes out in theaters on December 25th. It’s a true story so like another mystery movie we went and saw (episode 48) it’s not really a spoiler alert type situation but kinda is… so proceed as you need to for listening to this episode!

“I’m so glad we saw that!” Our season 5 premiere is the delightful movie “Bugonia” starring Emma Stone and Jesse Plemons. Is she or isn’t she an alien? Is he or isn’t he batshit fucking crazy? This keeps you guessing all throughout the whole thing… even when his detached head flies out of the closet and headbutts her in the face… and even then you still kinda don’t know. Oh, what a delightfully weird little movie this was! We loved it so much and we think you will too!

“I have her phone! Hee hee hee!” Our season 4 finale! We’re discussing Selena Winters’ book “Carnival Nightmare.” While on a road trip to go get our hair done we decided to talk about this book so that’s your heads up that there’s gonna be road noise. And yeah… we make an hour and a half long road trip every couple of months to get our hair done because our hair stylist is that fucking good! You’re AWESOME, Nicole! Moving on… “Carnival Nightmare” is a dark stalking romance written by Selena Winters and it’s a part of her Carnival series…...

“Was it… Father?!” We saw “Predator: Badlands” and we loved it! Definitely one of our top favs in the franchise. Lots of “daddy issues” and it would appear possible “mommy issues” as well… I fucking hope so! That’s how they left it open for another movie and I hope they tap Sigourney Weaver to play Mother!

“It’s Barbara.” We saw this in the theater twice! That’s how much we liked it. And just like the first one… the actress who played the sister should get all the awards! Her name is Madeleine McGraw and she kicked this movie’s ass! Ethan Hawke is back as “The Grabber” and Mason Thames is back as “Finn” battling it out once again.
