You've built a career you're proud of. You run a company, lead a team, and deliver results. But somewhere along the way, your body got left behind."I should have this handled." "I start strong, then I fall off." "I can run a business but I can't sort my body." If you've said any of that to yourself, you know exactly what this show is about. The problem usually isn't effort. Most of the men I work with are already doing a lot, sometimes too much. They're running on discipline and willpower, the same system that worked in their 20s...

You tell people you don't have the time. Then you look at the diary and the hour is often there. Forty five minutes before work, a gap at lunch, six in the evening. The time exists. What's missing by then is the energy to use it.

So this isn't time management. I'd run your week like a P&L: what's coming in, what's going out, what gives a return, and where you're simply leaking. A difficult conversation costs you and may well...

Knowing Isn't Doing: Why a Doctor Needed Accountability
Knowing Isn't Doing: Why a Doctor Needed Accountability episode artwork
10/27/2026

You spend your working day telling other people how to fix things, and you are good at it. The one file you have never managed to close is your own body, and you have stopped mentioning that to anyone.

Alan is a physician with two children, nights on call and a travel schedule. He came to me in October 2024 already exercising five or six days a week. He was riding a bike for ninety minutes and then, in his words, eating the entire house. Time was never his problem. The efficiency of the effort was, and so...

The 80% Advantage
The 80% Advantage episode artwork
10/20/2026

You have probably kept a streak going, missed one session and decided the whole thing was ruined. Monday became the new start line, then next month did.

I think we have consistency slightly wrong. Your body doesn’t know you’ve broken a streak. It doesn’t know it’s Monday. It responds to what you do on average over time. That’s the 80% advantage: a very good average, held for long enough, beats short periods of perfection. I’m not talking about lowering the standard.

Say your goal is sixteen sessions in a month and you mana...

The Capacity Gap. Why Success Starts Asking More Than Your Body Can Give
The Capacity Gap. Why Success Starts Asking More Than Your Body Can Give episode artwork
10/13/2026

Your career has grown for fifteen or twenty years. More people, more decisions, more travel, more pressure. Physically you are still running roughly the strategy you used at thirty: train when you can, eat reasonably well, pull things back for a fortnight when the weight creeps up.

That difference is the capacity gap. The load has increased and your ability to carry it hasn't, and the usual response, wanting your old body back, is the wrong target. Your old body belongs to your old life.

So the question isn't how lean can I get. It's...

42lbs Down and Energy Left for His Family
42lbs Down and Energy Left for His Family episode artwork
10/06/2026

You have started things before. A gym near the office, a trainer, a class that worked fine until you moved house or the diary got worse. Nothing collapsed. It just quietly stopped, and a few months later you went looking for the next thing.

Nicolás is an economics professor in El Paso, 43, with a four year old at home and some family history of heart trouble in the back of his mind. He came to me with no emergency and no health scare. What he said on our first call was that he wanted to start a...

What an F1 Team Knows About Your Body
What an F1 Team Knows About Your Body episode artwork
09/29/2026

You've optimised the business, the team, the finances, the calendar and the tech. Your own physiology is the one thing still running on pure effort: another coffee, a later night, start again Monday. Because you're capable, you can make that work for years. The question nobody asks is what it costs you.

You're not underperforming. You're overpaying. I call it the performance tax: three coffees before you're properly switched on, four days lost after a flight to New York, rereading the same email at 4pm, a Friday you drink through and a Monday you spend undoing.

70% Beats 100%

09/22/2026

You've told yourself you're going to sort this out more times than you'd admit. After a photograph. After a shirt that didn't fit. You meant it every time. Then a quarter got busy, a trip came up, a weekend went off plan, and you were back where you began, carrying one more broken promise to yourself. You, the man who keeps every promise he makes to clients, his team and his family.

I don't think that proves you're inconsistent. I think it proves the way you've been trying to change was never built to survive your actual...

32lbs Down and a Sharper Mind
32lbs Down and a Sharper Mind episode artwork
09/15/2026

You might assume the body is the prize. Lose the weight, look better in the photo, done. And you assume the fog, the tiredness you have stopped noticing and the constant sense of pushing are simply what performing at your level costs.

Jamie, an actor in Los Angeles, lost thirty-two pounds of body fat in six months. When I asked what he was proudest of, he did not mention any of it. He said mental clarity. He is calmer, he can take a pause, and he no longer feels he has to push all the time.

I didn't realise how bad I felt until I felt good again.
I didn't realise how bad I felt until I felt good again. episode artwork
09/08/2026

Your blood work came back fine. Your doctor isn't worried. You're still performing, still getting through the day, so the conversation ends there.

But fine can just mean nothing has gone badly enough yet to force your attention. You are very good at adapting. Energy drops over five years, sleep gets progressively worse, three pounds go on each year, and you absorb all of it without noticing, because compromised has slowly become normal. You would never judge a company on one number in isolation. You would look at the direction.

So this is about what...

Why Your Best Professional Traits Are Wrecking Your Health
Why Your Best Professional Traits Are Wrecking Your Health episode artwork
09/01/2026

You solve problems fast, you override discomfort, you look for leverage, and you keep going when other people stop. Those habits built your career. They are also the reason your own body has quietly slipped for years, and no amount of extra discipline has fixed it.

The argument here is that you do not have a discipline problem. You have four professional strengths pointed in the wrong direction, and each one carries a specific cost.

Optimising becomes a substitute for executing, so you can know your testosterone to two decimal places and still not have...

Off His Meds at 62
Off His Meds at 62 episode artwork
08/25/2026

You've been on the blood pressure tablets long enough that you've stopped noticing them. Nobody's worried. Your numbers are managed, your doctor is content, the repeat prescription renews itself in the background. It's the version of health where nothing is exactly wrong and nothing is getting better either.

Chris Hembrough was there a year ago. COO of a 50-person business, 62 years old, a college football career behind him along with two knee replacements and four back surgeries. Then he held his granddaughter and worked out he'd be 80 at her high school graduation.

Twelve months on...

You Don't Have a Motivation Problem. You Have a Structure Problem.
You Don't Have a Motivation Problem. You Have a Structure Problem. episode artwork
08/18/2026

You've built a business on decisions you don't have to make twice. Monday's 9am meeting isn't up for debate every week, so why is your workout? If your health still depends on how you feel when you wake up, you don't have a motivation problem. You have a structure problem.

Motivation is an emotion, not a character trait, and building your health around it is exactly why so many high performers start strong and quietly drift back to where they began. I've got a client with twenty years of competitive training behind him who told me he'd...

I Can Run a Business but I Can't Sort My Body. Here's Why That Makes Complete Sense.
I Can Run a Business but I Can't Sort My Body. Here's Why That Makes Complete Sense. episode artwork
08/11/2026

You can run a company. You make hard calls under pressure, manage people, and deliver year after year. So why is your own body the one thing you haven't been able to sort? You've started things, stopped things, and somewhere in the background there's a quiet voice telling you that you should have had this handled by now.

The men who do transform their bodies aren't more motivated than you. Most of them weren't on a burning platform and hadn't had a health scare. They simply had the right conditions around them, and the difference between conditions...
