This week on Nessie’s Dead we are taking the plunge into some dark history and hauntings! Specifically with sanitariums and a detention center for boys. While these places were intended to help or heal, much death and tragedy occurred, making them centers of suffering. And you of course know those places become a hot spot of ghostly activity.

Since the late 1700s, gothic horror has terrified and intrigued people, while of course leaving its mark on Halloween season. So for Halloween this year we are taking the plunge into classic gothic horror stories and real life cases of these horrors through history. From mad science experiments to homicidal monsters, this Halloween we will resurrect the real life classics!

In June of 1836, a group of boys set out to Arthurs’s Seat in Scotland to do some rabbit hunting. While there, they came across a collection of tiny wooden coffins..and by tiny we mean 3-4 inch tall coffins. Word of this spread and studies revealed that inside were tiny wooden figures. Who made these unique coffins and why did they place them where they did?

Former police officer, David Paulides, coined the term “missing 411” to describe the clusters of missing people in North American national parks. The theories of course run wild but in this week’s episode we will plunge mostly into the paranormal theories…Mostly discussing a close friend of our show, Sasquatch!

February 24th, 1978, a group of five men, known as “the boys”, went missing after watching a basketball game in Chico, California. However, after attending the game in Chico, they drove 50 miles the opposite direction from their homes, never to be seen alive again. The Chundawat family ran a grocery store in the Burari neighborhood of Delhi, India for about twenty years. They were known for their hard work and ideal family structure so people took notice when the store didn’t open promptly on July 1, 2018. Investigations commence and police are horrified to find all eleven family members dead inside the house with their mouths gagged and hands bound. The cause of each of their deaths’ was hanging. The Irving family moved to the Isle of Man with the intention of starting a new life in 1917. However, it turns out their new home would end up being haunted. Like most haunting cases, it begins with knocking and other strange sounds and things escalate from there. But this was no normal haunting. Brian Egg was known in his community for being a very sweet and generous man, looking out for everyone. So when he suddenly vanished in may of 2018, people in the area took notice. In a two month period with him no where to be found, and police negligence, neighbors report odd activity coming from his home. After police finally investigate, they are horrified to find his body, headless and handless, submerged in a fish tank full of chemicals. February 1993, Gary Sudbrink flew into New York on a spur of the moment trip to surprise his family.Upon arrival, he began receiving very strange phone calls from an unknown caller with strange questions and comments. This caller seemed to know more about Gary and his whereabouts than they should have. From the 1970's into 1980's, the Connecticut River Valley region of New England was plagued with an unknown killer. Bodies of women were being found in the woods around quiet rural towns.
