Sage Canaday

This week, Sage joins us for a good chinwag about all things running. We did also touch on doping, but quickly moved on to more important things such as Sage’s first Youtube video; a satirical review on Nipple Tips! One of the reasons we love Sage is his light hearted side alongside his more serious training content and it was great having him on.

We also discuss the other arm of Beyond Marathon; tracking and how...

Robin and I chat to Eric from Rasselbock Running. We discover where the name Rasselbock comes from and learn about his event format, which is focused on his runners and the community he has built up. Most of Rasselbock events are timed, which makes them inclusive to everyone, whether they want to complete one loop or race against the clock to see how many loops they can get in the time. We discuss the community that he has built around this and the concept certainly seems to work, as he now puts on 36 events a year.

Sarah Porter
01/11/2026

When I heard that Sarah Porter had been pulled out of the Spine Challenger South for safety reasons I was intrigued. When I learned it was because she received death threats for running in aid of women in Afghanistan, I knew I wanted to talk to her; if she couldn’t run for those women, at least we could share her story and the story of those girls.

Here’s some text from Sarah’s GoFundMe; please do help if you. The terrorists may have forced Sarah to stop running, but don’t let them stop her getting...

Jared has followed Laz for several years now and supported him on his Trans-America crossing a couple of years ago. He has gained a unique insight into the brain behind The Barkley Marathons and the Backyard Ultra format and having started this book, I can confirm it is a must read for anyone with an interest in Laz Lake and his races.

We are also excited to share that Core Body Temperature Sensors are our new...

Matt Field
11/21/2025

Within a few short years of running, Matt has come first at two 24 hour races, second at Manchester to Liverpool, first at Chester Ultra 50 and second at the highly competitive Thames Path 100. Not only that but he is our British record holder for the 24 hour fixed time format, where he’s ran an astonishing 281.3km. That’s an average pace of 5:07/km, for 24 hours, earning him his first ever Great Britain jersey to run in the World Champs. Unfortunately heart troubles late into his training, preven...

Sarah Webster
10/24/2025

Sarah broke the female World Record last weekend at the IAU World 24hr Track Championships, running an incredible 278km/173 miles. This was only her 2nd 24hr race and we discussed her running history and last couple of years competing which brought her to Albi, France this month. She also describes the team spirit; Sarah together with Kelsey Price (257km) and Sophie Power (233km) won the Female Team Gold Medal, but the rest of the British runners and crew worked hard to ensure they were supported should anything go wrong. A fascinating story and I’m sure we’ll see Sara...

Lindley talks about his many and varied roles as a Race Director, Medic and Spine kit checker and route planner. His races include the Suffolk and Thetford Backyard Ultras, Thames Ring 250 (now offering alternative distances), T184 and Peddars Way. Of course we couldn’t resist talking about kit check and complications that arise from that; there’s so much misinterpretation and misinformation out there that it’s a tough task he has to ensure runner safety. There was so much to talk about we could have gone on all day, but Robin had to go back to his day job!!<...
