18-year-old Romanch Mahajan was celebrating his high school graduation with his parents and younger brother with a once in a lifetime trip to NYC. The family decided to take a relaxing ride through Central Park in one of its iconic horse drawn carriages. When the driver stepped away to snap a family photo of the group, the horse bolted and accelerated, throwing Romanch to his death. Now there are renewed and urgent calls to end the decades long tradition in New York, and demands for a full investigation into the tragedy.

Trump backed GOP candidate Jackson Lahmeyer has dropped out of his congressional race in Oklahoma, just one day after Election Day.  Lahmeyer was headed toward a runoff in November when a British tabloid printed flirty text messages between Lahmeyer and a former campaign staffer who was not his wife. Lahmeyer released a statement saying he and his wife had already dealt with the matter privately, but decided to suspend his campaign to avoid further distraction to his family and the church where he serves as pastor.

A New York judge sentenced 62-year-old serial killer, Rex Heuermann to three consecutive life terms plus 100 years to life for the murders of seven women. Heuermann had to listen to dozens of victim impact statements detailing the heartbreak so many families have had to endure based on his crimes.  As the judge gave the harshest ruling possible for Heuermann, we also heard from his now ex-wife and daughter who did not attend today’s sentencing, but asked that the focus be on the victims and their families.

Woah, this episode was a surprise for many fans, and the ending was a nod to a real life tragedy that unfolded in real time for the villa. We saw the couples choose each other via love letters, which left two islanders without a mate.  But in a shocking twist, the newly singly islanders got to remain coupled up, in the spirit of love. Host Ariana Maddox referenced the sudden passing of the show’s producer, and the surprise ending was followed by a beautiful tribute to producer James Barker.

HHS Secretary Robert F. Kennedy Jr has refused to allow Florida resident Angela Perryman to leave the quarantine facility in Nebraska, because Florida has refused to comply with federal regulations on how to monitor her. Many people believe this standoff may be more about politics than public health, and 47-year-old Perryman is caught in the cross hairs. Perryman describes the quarantine like a prison, saying she doesn’t want to be dehumanized anymore and is appalled that RFK Jr “would override the doctor and violate the law just to keep me locked up.”

A tragic and inexplicable shooting in Los Angeles has a dog owner and several organizations demanding answers. While responding to a report of a woman screaming, officers knocked on the door of Knick’s fan, 45-year-old Marie Marseille who’d been screaming following her team’s historic victory. Her 2-year-old St. Bernard, Golden Retriever, Poodle mix dog named Jameson ran out of the apartment and according to police, charged the officer.  Now people want the body cam footage to see what really happened.

A Florida couple has reached a custody agreement with the biological parents of the daughter Tiffany Score gave birth to last December. Score, along with her husband Steven Mills, believed little Shea Score Mills was their biological daughter after they had an Orlando fertility clinic implant one of three embryos they created. The couple, who is white, immediately knew there was a mixup at birth, when the baby was brown and looked nothing like either of them. Meantime, Kenzie and Corbin say “F*ck it” and secretly resume their makeout sessions, but first swear each other to secrecy, so Mel and Caleb won’t get upset. 16-year-old Timothy Hudson is waking up in federal custody this morning for the first time since he was charged with the murder and sexual assault of his 18-year-old stepsister, Anna Kepner.  Now that Hudson is being tried as an adult, a judge reversed his earlier decision of allowing Hudson to remain in the custody of his uncle as he awaits trial. But the judge went even further in his ruling, saying Hudson’s alleged crime “suggests a level of psychopathy and lack of remorse” that raises concerns he could snap at any time.

New York Knick’s star Jalen Brunson has asked Swifties to calm down as they rally to the pop star’s defense after a New York’s Knicks reporter got caught on a hot mic saying Taylor Swift wasn’t a Knicks fan and to “get out of here, girl” when she saw Swift courtside at Game 4. Jalen Brunson saying to the Swifts that “she’s a really good one, cut her some slack.”

The episode began with tons of tears! Gabe cried over Beatriz, Mel sobbed over Sincere, and an overall awkwardness descended upon the villa. A tragic story out of Brazil this weekend. Video of a 21-year-old woman attending a bungee jumping event is circulating online. It shows the final moments of Maria Eduarda Rodrigues De Freitas with a helmet and harness being lifted up by three men and then thrown off the bridge. The problem, the rope wasn’t secured and De Freitas fell to her death. The three men who threw her are now facing homicide charges. We talk about just how dangerous bungee jumping is, before you plan your next adventure.

It was quite the spectacle on the South Lawn of the White House for the President’s 80th birthday.  While the UFC event was spared the predicted extreme weather, the White House wasn’t too happy with the meteorologists who warned about possible lightening and downpours. Just in time for President Trump’s 80th birthday, we are told workers have removed Donald J. Let’s go Knicks, time to celebrate!  The New York Knicks win their first NBA championship in 53 year and the city goes wild.  Unfortunately, a little too wild and a little too predictable.  While the NYPD hasn’t released official numbers, they’ve detailed “multiple arrests” with young men swinging from street poles, vandalizing school buses, smashing windows and even firing gunshots.  Thankfully, no deaths or injuries reported so far, but we go into the history of men getting violent when they’re celebrating… yes, there’s actual science behind the behavior.

The Pima County Sheriff’s Department is responding to a number of recent headlines surrounding the Nancy Guthrie investigation. Police say they are aware of a tip that led a Mexican group to search for a grave, but have not been contacted by authorities regarding any development. They also acknowledged they arrested three you tubers for disturbances outside Guthrie’s home. And finally, a kidnapper at large in the Tucson area, just 15 minutes from Guthrie’s house, has nothing to do with the missing 84-year-old mother and grandmother.

74-year-old Dwight William Rhone has pleaded not guilty to murdering four men over the span of 30 years and detectives believe there may be even more victims out there.  Rhone was in custody for the 2023 murder of Bernardo Moreno when they found human remains of Michael Brown buried under a home where Rhone was previously a tenant. After that, investigators were able to link two more unsolved murders to Rhone from 1993 and 2002 and are actively looking at Rhone in connection with at least two other dead or missing people.

The Supreme Court of the United States denied the state of Alabama’s request to execute 49-year-old Jeffrey Lee using nitrogen gas, agreeing with two lower courts that said it was cruel and unusual and therefore, unconstitutional. The late night decision, effectively halted Lee’s scheduled execution, but only temporarily. While Lee’s legal team declared it a victory, the state’s attorney general called it a miscarriage of justice and said Alabama is “prepared to do whatever is necessary to see Mr. Lee’s lawful sentence carried out.”

An incredible story out of Maryland this week! A young woman located her mother’s killer 12 years after her brutal murder. 24-year-old Kiany DeJesus was just 11 when her mother’s ex boyfriend lured her to a restaurant and stabbed her 27 times, then fled the country.  DeJesus finally found him through social media and this week, she faced him at sentencing where the judge gave him the maximum sentence.

The parents of 19-year-old Karmelo Anthony have given several, emotional interviews following their son’s murder conviction for stabbing fellow teen Austin Metcalf last year. The Anthony’s believe everyone lied on the stand and their son was never innocent until proven guilty.  While Anthony’s legal team has already filed an appeal, his parents are concerned for their safety, saying people want their family dead even after “they got what they wanted” with Anthony’s conviction.

A shocking and confusing story is emerging out of Chicago’s Grant Park. There is video everywhere of the large cross engulfed in flames, in broad daylight, along a busy street. Surveillance video captured a young man running from the scene wearing no shirt, dark pants and white sneakers. While police search for the mystery man, many have taken to social media claiming the cross burning is either a hoax or perpetrated by the Southern Poverty Law Center.

It’s a question the Supreme Court may answer at some point today, as Alabama maintains it will move forward with the planned execution of double murderer Jeffrey Lee despite lower court decisions.  Late last night, an appeals court upheld a judge’s ruling this week that Alabama’s nitrogen gas method of execution is unconstitutional because it is cruel and unusual. Alabama may legally follow through with tonight’s planned execution, with one of its other methods: lethal injection or electrocution, unless the Supreme Court steps in and allows the state to use nitrogen gas.

It was a stunning scene on Capitol Hill, one of the most powerful men in the world testifying before the House Oversight Committee for six hours. Billionaire Bill Gates voluntarily appeared before lawmakers and read his opening statement which acknowledged his poor judgment and described how Jeffrey Epstein attempted to blackmail him regarding his extramarital affairs. Lawmakers had different reactions to Gates’ testimony, some calling it intense and combative, others said he was “not forthcoming or candid.”

Within hours of Karmelo Anthony’s first degree murder verdict, Texas congresswoman Jasmine Crockett defended Anthony’s use of a deadly weapon, saying if she had someone on top of her, she wouldn’t be limited to fists either. The problem, Crockett was comparing a much different scenario than what happened at that Texas high school stadium. Earlier, Crockett explained the fear black mothers have for their black sons, but seemingly dismissed the pain of the Austin Metcalf’s mother, creating a wave of negative, racially charged comments online.

A federal judge has ruled that nitrogen gas executions are unconstitutional, now just one day before Alabama is set to execute Jeffrey Lee by that very method. Lee was convicted for the 1998 double murder of two pawn shop employees. Alabama is now barred from using nitrogen gas, so it’s unclear how or if they plan to move forward with the state’s two other options: electrocution or lethal injection.
