Exposing Fraudulent Insurance Coding For Transgender Procedures on Minors
Earlier this year, Do No Harm released a report on the ways healthcare providers could skirt medical coding rules to receive insurance reimbursements for such procedures. REPORT: 29 Deaths in West Virginia's Child Welfare System
The West Virginia Legislature created the Critical Incident Review Team last year. Earlier this month, lawmakers heard from the team for the first time. The CIRT is tasked with reviewing fatalities and near-fatalities of children in the child welfare system, and make recommendations on how they could have been prevented. Lawmakers learned that there have been 32 incidents, 29 of which were child deaths between January and April of this year. Delegate Adam Burkhammer wants answers.

Kentucky Lawmaker Hopes for German Business Investment

WV Gov. Patrick Morrisey has concerns of misuse of the school clothing voucher program. Many families were left out of the program right before the start of school. Sen. Ohio Commissioner Faces Consequences
A former Scioto County, OH Commissioner and his wife have pleaded guilty to their roles in a “public contracting scheme,” according to Ohio Auditor Keith Faber. Bryan Davis pleaded guilty to felony counts of theft in office, receiving stolen property and filing an incomplete/false tax return. The auditor’s office says as part of his plea deal, Davis will be required to pay $67,000 in restitution.
