Mother speaks out after son shot by police after armed standoff
22-year-old Jaylyn Brown was shot by police after an armed standoff on Milwaukee's northwest side on June 13, 2026. Police claim that Brown had threatened to take his own life near 84th and Lynx before he allegedly fired shots at officers, and then running into an apartment complex. Police negotiated for Brown to come out of the building, eventually firing shots at him. He died from his injuries at the hospital. WTMJ's community reporter Tory Lowe spoke to Brown's mother after she saw footage of the police body camera video.
