Without fail this week has snuck up on us once again. It is NFL COMBINE week aka every dude's favorite (and only?) week to deliberately turn on the TV to watch other dudes run around in their underwear (or so the story goes). But in all seriousness, we talk about some of the main guys we have our eye on this week and what results have surprised us already. We also debate the actual significance of the Combine as a whole. Does it really show us everything so many people claim it does or is it, nowadays, more of...

As we embark on a new Saints season, we are embarking on a new journey ourselves. Your favorite Saints Podcast now has a NEW name: the Saintsaholics Anonymous Podcast. Fret not, for we will still take every opportunity to reference 28 to 3 and all possible ways the falcons suck, but for reasons stated in this episode, we're going in a new direction with the name and the brand. It's one that every true die-hard Saints fan can absolutely resonate with.

This is PART ONE of a two part series, in which we look back on what we had to say about the offense and defense BEFORE the season - in our Season Preview Ep - and now, give our takes on how close or how far off we were after the dust has settled on the year. In this one, we briefly recap our Saints last game of the year. Hardest thing about it was we know Shough wanted to get at least one against the falcons this year, especially in a game that we really did some good things, and bested the other team in a lot of key statistical categories. BUT...this last game simply closed one chapter so an even greater one can begin! Now that the dust has settled on 2025, we know that we will go into the offseason armed with the EIGTH pick in the draft and have a much easier...

Saints keep Shough'ing ROLLING! FOUR wins in-a-row! STREAKING!! The Saints twice faced a ten point deficit and just kept pressing the issue on their way to an impressive win. We all agree this was a total team victory, but the second half performance of Tyler Shough definitely led the way. We get into why this performance from Shough (compared to last week's) especially showed a reason for increased optimism that we really "just might" "have our guy" for years to come. We get into that and whole lot more in this one. TUNE IN! WHO DAT?!

Definitely didn't think we'd ever utter this phrase early in this season, but the Saints have just completed a THREE game win streak by taking down the Jets in the Dome Season Finale. With the running game injured as hell, Kellen put the game on Shough's shoulders and he delivered. We get into the performance from the offense, some actual debate in awarding the players of the game, including great defensive performances all around. We have basically every angle covered for this time of the year in this episode. TUNE IN! WHO DAT?!

Last home game of the year for our Saints - can we make it worth it? Do we play it conservative against a lesser opponent, or do we open things up and try to put on a fireworks show for the home fans in the last game? We give our predictions on that as well as players of the game, PLUS, as special holiday edition of COREY'S LOCKS! Three games left to go, does he go conservative or does he "GO BIG OR GO HOME"? Another week, another NFC South division leader unseated by our Saints. The first win streak of the season came in dramatic fashion as Irishman Kicker CHARLIE SMYTH drilled the game winner to finish off the team's 4th quarter heroics, lead by some clutch defensive stops AND, obviously, by rookie QB1 Tyler Shough and the offense. It truly seems like ages ago that a win in the dome felt like this one. Corey and Max were in attendance to bring you the full report and breakdown of the win. Can the Saints keep the winning ways going as they come back to the DOME after two games on the road? They got a big win against the Panthers last time they swapped paint against em - can they do it again? We make our calls on that and hand out our predictions for players of the game. Our Saints went into Tampa and literally weathered the storm to come away with a tough team victory against a division opponent. SOLID defense kept us in it, and our rookie QB1 , TYLER SHOUGH, showed off his WHEELS running for two scores plus making some solid throws along the way. While the weather may have slowed down some of Tampa's offensive weapons, the defense definitely took advantage either way, coming up with some KEY stops when it mattered the most. At this point, we're likely out of the running for a draft pick high enough to draft a top...

Saints head to Tampa to take on Baker and the Bucs. Do we think we can put up more of a fight this time than we did in the dome? It’s another game for Shough to try to prove to the Saints that they don’t need to draft a QB in Round 1. Can he keep the positive momentum going and have a game that looks more like last week’s second half than first half? We get into all of it and have your picks, plus LOCKS!! TUNE IN!

*Collective yell in frustration from the top row of the terrace* Out of all the games, especially the home games, we wanted to down the birds in the DOME. We wanted to FOUGH up the falcons, but instead we GOT foughed. We recap the disappointment in this one, do our best to hand out “players of the game” and overall just lament what we saw on the field Sunday as we say GOOD RIDDANCE to the L we took against the shitbirds. Our favorite time of year: falcons HATE WEEK! "Fough" (and fuck) the falcons! We preview the first matchup of the year for the Saints vs. the team from atL, so we break down what we can expect from this one. Falcons come in hobbled, but as we all agree, this game is never short of surprises and just weird happenings that don't make sense. Obviously, we're looking for our guys to be on the winning end of that. We each give our picks, players of the game, and Corey brings it with his LOCK! Can he get back in...

"JUST" like we predicted...the Saints marched right into Carolina and DOMINATED the Panthers behind incredible QB play from their rookie Tyler Shough! Obviously....sometimes it's nice to be wrong, and that was definitely the case after Sunday. Before the game, we thought our defense would be gashed by Rico Dowdle (54 yds, 2.9 ypc); and we thought Shough would definitely struggle against a stout Panthers D (282 yds, 2 td, 0 int). Like we said, nice to be wrong sometimes. We go full-in on all the highlights and encouraging signs. Do we still want to see more out of...Moore? AND does Shough's...

After an abysmal loss, our Saints take the “show” on the road to the surprisingly 5-4 Carolina Panthers. Will it be more of the same struggles or can the Saints pull out a W? We each have our picks in this one. Also, in true 28-3 Pod fashion, we veered off into a debate: As a whole, are the Saints “competitive” this season, despite our record??

A collab a long time in the making. This week, we've teamed up with co-hosts of the DOME PATROL Podcast (Jason Montegut) and The Saints City and Me Podcast (Dan Harper) to rehash the bucs game, commiserate in the Saints current woes, talk Shough being QB1, and just BS in general, including Dan and his fellow brits recent journey across the Atlantic from the UK to catch our Saints in the DOME, and also some more enjoyable things they've done around town. This was a fun one - catching up, talking Saints (and of course dishing out some shots...

It’s been a while since our Boys in Black & Gold have been 1-6. Kinda reminds us of old times…But, we know what this year is, so question is: Will we see our Saints bounce back and at least perform better this week than last? Obviously, we want the W, but an upset/win would be lagniappe at this point. We get into what we want to see in this one and what we think we’ll actually see.

His defense made the Saints offense look pretty inept, and seemingly exposed what happens when Rattler gets more aggressive with his passing decisions. But, it was not without "some" positives - two solid drives to close out first and open second half - more strong play from some rooks; but...the positives just about ended there. We all agree that Rattler's performance against the Bucs coming into the dome will tell us a lot about his ability to bounce back and, more than likely, a lot about how...

The Saints head to Chi-town to face their old coach. Some might call it a “revenge game” for DA, but it should really be one for the Saints to get him back for the two years of pain he inflicted upon us as HC. Also, Rattler gets his first chance to duel it out against the guy who took his job at OU. Will our QB1 show out more due to added motivation?? Another one-score loss in the books against a decent opponent, and similar to the other ones, this one had some positives that can be taken away but also exposed some glaring weaknesses in this roster.. We all agree this was Spencer Rattler's best game yet, as he continues to show improvement. Also, Kellen Moore appeared to do all he could from a play-calling perspective, but it was certain key skill players who we should be able to rely upon that dropped the ball...LITERALLY. We break down those who frustrated and give flowers to those who played their asses...

Took five games, but WE GOT ONE! Was great to see Kellen Moore get his first win as an NFL head coach, see Rattler get the monkey off his back/end the winless streak as a starter, and simply see the home crowd have something to cheer about. Now…did the Giants help us out a decent bit with a multitude of mistakes? Sure, but at the end of the day, the Saints capitalized when they needed to. Our Saints are back in the Dome on Sunday, but we have made our annual fall beach trip to Destin, FL but that didn't stop us from dropping our PREVIEW EP this week. Now...no promises that everything in this one is as "on point" or that there aren't extra tangents given the circumstances/vibes, BUT we still bring the heat in this one. By far the best thing from Sunday's bout against the Bills (at least from a loss) was that the Saints squarely put their performance against Seattle in the rearview - or, at least, successfully avoided a repeat terrible performance. We all agree there were definitely positives to take from this one, i.e. a serious/legitimate looking rushing attack, total reduction in bonehead/presnap penalties, and much more competitiveness against a much more talented road opponent (than last week vs. Seattle). BUT...(there's always a "but"...especially with this team) we also agree, there are some serious and significant...

No rest for the weary. Coming off one of the worst losses in recent memory, the Saints travel to the land of the Bills Mafia to take on what could be the best team in the league this week. Given the team's current makeup/performance thus far, unfortunately, we are far from expecting a win, BUT can the team show improvement from last week? We break down the test the Saints will be facing and what we want to see, even if it isn't a W, as the Saints head up north to take on the BILLS. Speaking of "...

Man. We knew we were in "rebuild" mode, but still didn't think we'd see it look that bad this year. Hard to describe the Saints loss in Seattle as anything other than embarrassing. If it could go wrong, it did go wrong. Naturally, this led us to some heated discussion and debate, plus a lot of venting about some of the glaring things that went wrong in this one. We agree that Rattler in no way lost this one - this was a total team level of let down - BUT, did another week of him under center show...

The Saints first road trip of the season is a long one as they head up to the Pacific Northwest (Kaden Ellis Country!) to take on the Seahawks in Seattle. Coach Moore said earlier this week that he loves road games because they bring the team together, so we'll see if that's the case. Two straight home games for the Saints to open the Kellen Moore era and it's now two straight one score losses, ending on potential game-winning drives for the Saints. In the not-too-distant past, this would have had the whole fan-base up in arms; but, since it's the first two games for a first year head coach and coaching staff, this is "to be expected", right?? We all agree the leash should be reasonably long for Coach Moore, and Staley (as far as the defense goes); but, we still dive in to our thoughts on the game as a whole...

A second straight home game for the Saints to begin the season, question is: can they actually pull out a W?? The niners will come into the dome hobbled with key losses to their QB1 and Kittle at TE, so we agree, this suddenly presents a good a chance as any the Saints will have at victory this season. We also hand out our Offensive/Defensive MVP predictions and final score predictions. PLUS for COREY’S LOCKS, a slight change in programming. Perhaps combining the lock with one of the above?? Not many expected the Saints to win their season opener, even with it being in the DOME and spruced up by the gold jerseys and gold endzones, BUT...it would be safe to argue the team looked pretty competitive even in a losing effort - or, at least, more competitive than many thought they'd look.
