Project: Philippians

"Not that I have already obtained all this, or have already arrived at my goal, but I press on to take hold of that for which Christ Jesus took hold of me. 13 Brothers and sisters, I do not consider myself yet to have taken hold of it." (Philippians 3:12-13)

During my family's road trips, I am re-casting some of my favorite episodes from earlier in the book. If you like them too, consider sharing them with someone else you know. (And if they don't like them, I promise to give them a full refund!)

(Phil 1:22-24)

This may be one of the most important podcasts I've ever recorded. It certainly is the most transparent. Today, it is my goal to take you on a candid and revealing tour inside the vacillating heart of the Apostle Paul, and of my own. But though this may be a tour into a dark valley, I trust that you find that we will not get stuck in the misty depths, but we will emerge on the other side... and we will be transformed by the journey.

"For to me, to live is Christ and to die is gain." (Philippians 1:21)

As I write this, 2024 is half over. And do you know what the unrivaled highlight of this year has been for me? The answer might surprise you: it was the memorial service for my dear and precious mom. No, I was not happy to see her go. Far from it! It was a day of deep sadness and the most blubbery weeping that I have ever done in public. BUT, it was also a d...

'For the Arkenstone of my father,' said Thorin, 'is worth more than a river of gold in itself, and to me it is beyond price.'” (The Hobbit, J.R.R. Tolkien)

The theme of today's podcast is “themes”.

A theme is like the common thread that ties something together. It is the unifying idea. Themes elevate a simple sequence of events into a true work of literature or art. You might say that themes are the beating heart of all mea...

I don't want to walk with God anymore.

There. I said it.

I'm just kinda fed up with the whole thing. I've been doing it for years and I've just had enough. It was fine for a while, but, to be perfectly honest, I just feel like I've outgrown that stage in my life and I'm ready for something else. So I decided to come on this podcast and make a public announcement: I really don't want to walk with God anymore.

... I want to RUN.

Walking is for newbies...
