Dunks After Dusk

After a long week of two losses and some injury news, it was nice to see the Wolves bounce back with a cruise control victory. Jaden McDaniels was awesome, LaMelo Ball bounced back, and we all got to take the first trip to the Bone Zone this season.

The dream of 82-0 is dead after an OT loss in Cleveland. Everything about the team seemed just a little off on the second night of a back-to-back as we got our first look at how this team handles clutch time situation. And that answer is... a mixed bag!

Immaculate vibes as the Wolves improve to 3-0 with so much to be encouraged about on both sides of the court. All the sample sizes are small, but not overreacting to what we are seeing thus far is tough!

The Wolves can win with en fuego nights from Ant and LaMelo, and they can win without them. If this incredible offensive team continues to definte themselves on the defensive end with grit and hustle, there may be something special brewing in Minnesota.

But no over-reactions after game 2!

The Timberwolves new season is here and their debut was a thing of beauty. Anthony Edwards enters the Avatar State, LaMelo and Kuminga thrive in their roles, and Jaden McDaniels remains perfect.

1-0.

We know you all are tired of analytics driven preview by the experts. How about a season preview put into the hands of cold, hard chance?

Time to recap the most recent preseason games, take a deep dive look at the bench, and make our final Western Conference and Timberwolves record predictions.

It's the best time of the year again... Timberwolves basketball is back! We re-introduce ourselves, talk about preseason game 1, and offer some big picture thoughts on the Wolves starting group by looking at a big question, key stat, and our innebriation level needed to place a bet on a player prop.

The Timberwolves sign Jonathan Kuminga (presumably) rounding out the rest of the roster. Is it a good fit? We explore his potential offensive fit, defensive fit, and potential liabilities for why the Wolves were able to get a talented player at minimal cost.

Well... a lot has happened in a week.

The Timberwolves trade Julius Randle for nothing.

They draft Isaiah Evans.

And then this morning they trade Naz Reid and an unprotected pick for LaMelo Ball.

Lots to talk about, all culminating in a podcast ejection for the one of the hosts!

It's time to let all our thoughts on the 2026 Timberwolves (and beyond) out whether they are half baked, fully baked, or something we barely believe or put much thought into at all! Covered in this episode:

- KAT
- Timberwolves rebrand
- Olivia Miles
- Trades
- The draft
- And much more!

Our season wrap-up episode is about looking forward as Anthony Edwards enters into his prime:

Who on the roster fits his skillset and which of those players can compete in a series against San Antonio or OKC?

And with that, the 2025-2026 Timberwolves season has come to an end. Lots of offseason questions coming, but for tonight, a brief recap on game 6 with bigger offseason questions coming soon.

While Wolves put up more of a fight than in game 2, the end result is the same.

Ayo gets the big ticket and then a plethora of Shake Milton awards are given!

Wemby throws elbows. Ant makes clutch buckets.

Wolves even the series at 2-2 as it heads back to San Antonio.

Wemby was brilliant. Tip your hat and go out and get game 4.

The title says it all. No Big Ticket handed out in a playoff game for the first time in our podcast history!

The Timberwolves continue to be a team of junkyard dogs that grind opponents down and find ways to win in the clutch. With Anthony Edwards returning, the team steals game 1 in San Antonio.

The Timberwolves enter the series vs the Spurs as big underdogs, but both Mitch and Pat have some questions about that assumption after digging deep on the numbers and regular season matchups. Add in Anthony Edwards' looming return and we both think the smart money is on a prolonged series.

Two words: Jaden McDaniels.

The Wolves turn that ball over 25 times thanks to Denver's increased ball pressure which is story A,B,C,D,E... etc on this game.

Game 6 shifts to Target Center where the Wolves, with the right adjustments and gameplan intentionality, will have a chance to end the Denver Nuggets season.

While a lot of the conversation tomorrow is going to be about the status for their superstar's injury, tonight's game was all about the heart and grit of this Timberwolves team. Led by Ayo Dosunmo 43 points on offense and Jaden/Rudy's defense, the Wolves secure a 3-1 series lead against the Denver Nuggets.

Awooooo!! Some defense that would maybe even give game 2 of the 23/24 season a run for its money is what led to the Wolves taking a 2-1 lead over the Nuggets.

The rollercoaster Timberwolves grant us the highest high of the season with a 19pt comeback win against the Nuggets in Denver to even the series 1-1.

Unfortunately, game 1 of the Wolves postseason wasn't didn't have an M. Night Shyamalan twist; the Wolves haven't been reborn into something new but are the same team we saw in the regular season, albeit more injured.

Rudy was the big ticket, playing some very good defense on Jokic and being an effective offensive contributor.

Ayo and Donte were solid.

But no one else on the roster could elevate their game to the needed playoff level to take advantage of a subpar game from Denver.

The playoffs are here! Time for our seven big questions:

1. What does a statistical deep dive tell us?
2. What do the regular season matchups tell us?
3. How much are vibes impacting perception of the series?
4. What are the key injuries?
5. Who are the series X-Factors?
6. If the Timberwolves lose, what would be the biggest reason?
7. If the Timberwolves win, what would be the biggest reason?

And our final series predictions!

Mitch and Pat hop on the mics to wrap up the regular season by giving their thoughts on the final stretch of games, revealing the big ticket award rankings, and finally offering a brief 50,000ft view on the Nuggets series before their deep dive on Thursday.

TJ Shannon and the Wolves end the Rockets 8 game win streak playing their regular rotation guys, despite no Rudy, Julius, Naz and Bones.

While Mitch and Pat do the normal recap of the Wolves loss vs the Pistons, the overarching theme of the episode is simple: It's time to start resting up for the playoffs.

Ayo Dosunmo continues to be a revelation for the Timberwolves, highlighted tonight by his 2nd career triple double.

Basketball talk time! With defense and physicality, the Wolves match and exceed the Rockets, led by scoring bursts from Jaden McDaniels in the 4th quarter, and the heroics of Julius Randle in OT.

Scott Foster is an aging official with a conspiracy riddled past that has always allowed his ego, his personal baggage with players, and his disdain for fans to eclipse the basketball product and make it about himself.

The Timberwolves beat the Celtics in Boston for the first time in 21 years, and they do it led by Bones Hyland and Ayo Dosunmo.

The shorthanded Wolves take care of business against the shorthanded Suns in a game that should asuage worries for the moment about falling into the play-in.

We cap off the final (very late) game of this West Coast stretch with a running diary in the victory over the Warriors. The Wolves played... better! Got a little sloppy in the second half, but they still finish the night with a double-digit victory.

Ant soars, Ayo closes, and the losing streak is over!

Well, not the most fun game to attempt a running diary of. But at least it was a 10:15pm start that ended at 12:30am!

The Timberwolves win their 5th game in a row (and 8 of their last 9) by playing some of their best basketball of the season in the 3rd quarter tonight. Highlight after highlight leads the Wolves to a 4-23 record, now alone in 3rd in the West.

Mitch and Pat talk the Memphis game, SloMo's debut, and respond to a first ever listener voice note asking about why the tone of the podcast has been less positive this season.

Three wins in a row for the rollercoaster Wolves who are on another upswing with a victory in Denver. Jaden McDaniels takes home the big ticket, but the win was predicated on team basketball and a brief visit to the Bone Zone.

Well, the Wolves are back after the All-Star break! And unfortunately - they have not completely fixed their faults. The good is still there, but unfortunately the ugly reared its face a bit more during these two games.
