The Serendipitous Jen

The Serendipitous Jen accidentally got carried away and skipped Day 6 of the roadtrip and in her defense, Internet and WIFI is really spotty out of the van. Here we are on Day 7 of the road trip. Learn all about the adventures in Durango and then she is off to New Mexico to visit family & refuel on all the love and energy they have to offer.

The Serendipitous Jen and Carlos are on day 5 of the roadtrip to visit National Parks and eventually end up at Durango, Colorado for another train ride! Today they travel from Moab to Cortez and make pitstops along the way, of course. Tomorrow they will finally land in Durango...stay tuned!

The Serendipitous Jen and Carlos make their way to The Arches National Park from Bryce Canyon. They had a few pitstops along the way. Grateful for the experience and the safety they have had so far. Next stop...Four Corners Monument on the way to Durango, Colorado.

The Serendipitous Jen and Carlos got started on the road a little later than anticipated today to embark on their journey from Zion to Bryce Canyon... so they did NOT record this until the end of the day when they were both exhausted. They learned about Bison, kind humans & the biggest Ace Hardware store that Jen has ever seen!! Enjoy and stay tuned for day 4 tomorrow.

The Serendipitous Jen and Carlos spent too much time at a local casino in Nevada and Jen has another epiphany about life and the lessons that she has learned along the way. The sights are beautiful to see as they travel from Nevada through Arizona and land in Utah. Don't ask anyone in Utah about a location of a Chase bank! Learn all about that in this episode. The Serendipitous Jen and Carlos are fleeing the state once again to discover new unmarked territories.The final stop will be Durango, Colorado for The Durango Blues Train ride. Today was filled with stops at Calico Ghost town, Speed Vegas for some drifting in a Dodge Charger Hellcat, then off to gamble in the casinos and just when they were making their way to Utah... Carlos got a whim to gamble some more! They will spend the night at a casino / resort in Mesquite, Nevada before making their way to Bryce Canyon tomorrow. Stay tuned for day 2.

The Serendipitous Jen and Carlos talk about what they did to share 4 days together to celebrate the 4th of July extended weekend. Who knew that shooting pool was such a technical sport? The Serendipitous Jen and Carlos head out to Yosemite on a whim. Here's how it started...Carlos and Jen tried to get a spot at a local beach for the weekend to camp in the van, but all the spots filled up months ago. They start throwing out ideas of where they can go on short notice and get away for the weekend. There is so much to see and do in California and we have a lot of the most gorgeous places right here in our backyard. The van is always set up and ready to go & Jen...

The Serendipitous Jen is happy to get caught up with Carlos regarding how they spent Valentine's weekend this year. They went to The Heated Room for a 45 minute relaxing sauna session on Saturday afternoon, then Carlos prepared dinner. They then woke up early on Sunday morning to head to Disneyland. They talk about the day, the rides, the fun and talking about it is like living the adventure all over again them.

The Serendipitous Jen & Carlos take off from Sedona and head up to Zion. Stops along the way include Horseshoe Bend and The Antelope Canyon in Page, Arizona.  The sights they see are unbelievable and wow Jen with every bend on every highway. Jen knows how lucky she is to have acquired all this good fortune in this lifetime to be able to take off on some great adventures like this. Jen is humbly grateful for everything. The Serendipitous Jen and Carlos hop on again to share a recap of their time spent in Sedona. They share about the hike and what it felt like to be in the presence of such a beautiful place. They have a new game that Carlos made up just for the time they spend driving in the van! 

The Serendipitous Jen and Carlos travel their way from Williams down to Sedona. Wow, Sedona is breathtaking for sure. They take a 3 hour round trip hike through Boynton Canyon in search of the healing properties of a vortex. They climb to the top of the ridge to find caves and hieroglyphics. The sights they see are spectacular and the people that they meet along the way are so much fun, too. 

The Serendipitous Jen and Carlos recap and chat a bit about their day spent on the train to The Grand Canyon and the day that they had together. It starting off kind of rocky, with Carlos being so mad that fog had rolled in and he wasn't able to see anything! The creator cleared up the fog for him and gave hime small glimpse of the majestic canyon. He could not believe his eyes! Hear it from him how he felt and hopefully this will encourage others to take that exit next time you drive along highway 40 and go...

The Serendipitous Jen and Carlos are off to a great start on Day 2, (this is part 1) in the snow, driving from Flagstaff to the Grand Canyon. They board the Grand Canyon Railway Train at 8:30 and have an epic day with lots of photo ops off cliffs and elk sightings and a very entertaining train ride. 

The Serendipitous Jen and Carlos hop in the new Sprinter van to hit the road for a seven day roadtrip to include The Grand Canyon, Sedona, Antelope Canyon, The Horseshoe, Zion, Bryce Canyon and Vegas. Day 1...leaving for the roadtrip is always fun! Jen is looking forward to showing these natural wonders to Carlos for his first time. On their journey back, they see a man stumbling down the side of the road and a few minutes later they discover a truck in the middle of the road tipped over on its side. Jen & Carlos pull over to help the truck, not realizing that the guy walking had crawled out of the sunroof...

The Serendipitous Jen and Carlos go on their nightly walk around the neighborhood. They are still together, walking, talking & Jen continues laughing all the way. Carlos opens up about a recent tragedy that the two of them just went through with a family member that affects them so deeply. Carlos also shares about the "extra" role that he played in a movie as a gardener...so stereotypical! Jen finds all kinds of adventures along the trail and always has lots to talk about especially the things that she loves...their Harley Low Rider, camping, family...Enjoy.

The Serendipitous Jen is at it again making new friends. She found Brittany Giese from social media and the two hit it off instantly and Jen learns that Brittany is fired up about going after bullies. The two women agree that there is no room left in this world for hate. Hurt people hurt people is so true. And, Bullying isn't just for the kiddos in school, even as adults we are bullied for standing out or being different. Did you know that bullying is generational? The way that Jen sees it is that her life is revolving and sh'e no longer on dating apps & being liked by only younger guys on those...it was time for a change in life and a change in the title. Jen chats with Britt Brandon about her week and both of the ladies have had some week! Seems like when things are going too well, minor things will pop up and send us spinning into a spiral of uncertainty. Life is all about learning and doing better one...
