Oh crap! Runner's trots, puking, black toe-nails, and more...

Running isn't all rainbows and roses, that's for sure.  In this episode, we'll dive into all the grossness that can be a part of running and how to make the most of these hard situations.  This episode has definitely been approved by middle school boys using all the great words like poo, puss, and puke.  Let the nastiness begin, and don't forget a few laughs as well.

For avoiding chafing: Body Glide

That's Why It's Called Training

What is training?  How is it different from just "running"?  What does training look like and how does it help us?  What if my training doesn't "work"?

In this episode, I talked about my running backpack, which is super handy for those long runs.  Looking for a running backpack for yourself?  Try some of these: https://amzn.to/3mpPgiV

Pacing 101
#8
04/07/2023

So many people, especially new runners, struggle with pacing.  How fast should I run?  How long should I run at that speed?  How do I know what a good pace for me is?  How do I get the most out of my workouts?  All of these questions can be answered by understanding pacing...and then practicing a lot!  Pacing is the number 1 skill to master for new and experienced runners alike.

The Marathon - Conquer or Be Conquered

The marathon!  The race of all races.  I've been chasing the dream of conquering the marathon for over 10 years now and am about to try it again.  In this episode, I'll share some triumphs and defeats in marathoning, both for myself and other runners.  It's an amazing race distance, but certainly not for the weak of heart.

Injury Prevention - From one runner to another

Injury!  That dreaded word most of us runners hope to avoid, but often don't.  My running journey has taken me in and through many injuries, but I didn't give up.  I'll share with you simple things that have helped me and other runners I coach stay healthy and strong.

Disclaimer: I am not a medical doctor, nor do I have any specialized training or certificates in preventing injuries.  That's why this is from one runner to another.  If you are experiencing a severe injury, please consult your doctor.  More about that as well in this episode.

"I am a runner!": mindset to match your goals
#4
03/10/2023

Equally if not more important than physical training is the mental training that goes into being a runner.  In this episode, we'll discuss what it means mentally to "be a runner" and how to bridge that gap and become the runner you want to be.

In this episode, a concept from the book: "Atomic Habits" is used as a guide for our discussion.  Find the book here: https://amzn.to/41LSA6V
