Do you think about the audience whenever you're doing something? Most of us do. Does constantly worrying about what our audience is thinking about us helps us? Of course not. 
In this episode, I talk about my thoughts in this subject area and what we can do instead. 

This is the story of an experience I had back in 2009 when I was training office workers of a 30 person company in Chicago. 

Having a hard time finding time to work out but you know you need to? Obviously, you know that you're not alone. Almost everyone struggles with this. 

I found one particular method that has been truly helpful. Listen to this episode and see if this might work for you as well.

We hear this question all the time: How are you? 
How do you answer this question? Do you complain or do you just say the word "good" like most people do? Is there a formula to what we can follow going forward? That's what I explore in this episode. 

Do you enjoy filling out surveys? Most of you will say no. 
Yet we still expect our employees to fill out surveys to provide us feedback or input on something "we" care about. 

Why would they do that? What's in it for them? 

Surveys don't usually get filled out until an employee gets super frustrated and starts ranting about their issues on a survey.

You want your work, your initiative, your applications to be sticky to users. The actual usage of your applications makes it all worth it, right? 

But the reality is that this doesn't happen to even the most beautiful looking applications. There is no one magic bullet for digital adoption (also referred to as user adoption). 

So what's the answer..? 

There are actually five specific steps that you can take to achieve sustainable user adoption on any web application. In this episode, I lay out those five things.

Many times things we do just feel like they are automatically happening. 
But were they always automatic? Didn't we have to learn those things at some point? 

So then can we convert other things intentionally from being conscious actions to unconscious ones and make them automatic as well? 

That's the argument that I make in this episode.

Tune into radio WIIFM of others otherwise they will tune you out. Understand that tuning in means empathizing with others and matching their station's frequency. 

There's a cost we pay for context switching and that cost is in the form of productivity loss. The good news is that there's a flip side of the story as well and we can use context switching to our advantage if we want. 

When discovering the true pain points for people, we have to understand the complete picture - not only what we are seeing but what is actually happening. 

This episode talks about my experience with a consulting project I was on where we were tasked to make processes more efficient. What I learned talking with the stakeholders on this project was a timeless lesson that I want to share with you.
