It's easy to slip into thinking that faith is mostly about following the rules, checking the right boxes, and trying not to mess up. But Jesus invites us into something much deeper: a life marked by love.

As important as right actions are, Scripture reminds us that when love is missing, even our best efforts can miss the heart of what God truly desires.

We spend a lot of time dreaming about the day when technology does all the work for us. But here's the funny thing: people are spending millions of hours playing video games where they power wash sidewalks, mow lawns, run farms, stock store shelves, and even manage a 1990s video rental shop. Apparently, after a long day of work, we like to unwind by pretending to do... more work.

Maybe that's because work itself isn't the problem. Deep down, we all want to contribute, create, fix, build, organize, and accomplish something that matters. Long before work became stressful...

There are days when it feels like the world is working overtime to keep us anxious. Everywhere we turn, we're told what to worry about next. I've noticed something simple and powerful though: fear and love don't grow well in the same space. When I stop focusing on what's making me afraid and start praying for the people or situations weighing on my heart, that fear begins to lose its grip and God's peace has room to move in.

I know a lot of people feel this way too. Some days I talk about Jesus while barely having the strength to get out of bed. Some days I’m showing up with a smile, and other days—like today—I’m showing in from the middle of the mess of depression, still learning how to breathe and trust God when the weight feels heavy. But maybe that’s exactly where His grace meets us, not after we’ve “fixed” everything, but right in the thick of the struggle. If you’re in that place too, you’re not disqualified. God works beautifully through people who are still in process.
