A $1,000 Tip in the Middle of Chaos
So there’s this Mexican restaurant up in Kent, Ohio, and one Saturday night everything that could go wrong absolutely did. Orders backed up, people waited for hours, and the restaurant later described the whole night on Facebook as “complete amateur chaos,” which—honestly—might be the most honest restaurant post ever written.
But here’s the part that stopped me: a couple sat there for three hours, never got food, never got drinks… and still left a $1,000 tip on their way out. That kind of undeserved kindness is such a picture of grace—because if we’re honest, we’re all...
Saying Yes to God’s Invitation to Partner with Him
Sometimes God drops a simple idea into your day that hits deeper than you expect, and that’s exactly what happened when I heard someone describe Scripture as the story of a God who keeps looking for partners. He keeps inviting imperfect people into His work, not because they’re flawless, but because He loves to work through willing hearts. That thought stuck with me so much that it even shaped my prayer:
“Lord, if You’re still looking for partners… yes. You know I’m a sinner, but the answer is still yes.”
It’s a reminder that...
Animal News: Cat Living Quadruple Life
I was emotionally unprepared for today’s breaking animal news, which involves a man discovering his beloved cat starring—quite confidently—in real estate photos of a house down the street.
Turns out “Freddy” has been living a bold, unapologetic quadruple life, complete with multiple families and apparently zero shame.
Honestly, I can’t decide what hurts more: the betrayal… or the fact that the cat didn’t even try to hide it.
Spiritual Amnesia
Some days it feels like we’re all walking around with “spiritual amnesia,” forgetting the very things God just proved He could handle.
Sherri found an old journal entry from a year before she took her current job—full of confusion, stress, and a shaky decision to trust God—and seeing how He worked it all out brought her to tears. If I’d been journaling back then, mine probably would’ve just said, “Lord, please send me a smart, theologically solid, funny coworker,” and, well… look how that turned out.

The Universal Worldwide Look of Disapproval
Picture this: scientists spend years studying human behavior across continents, cultures, and time zones… only to officially confirm what every mom has been silently broadcasting since the dawn of creation. Apparently, no matter where you go—from Norway’s fjords to the bottom edge of Argentina—everyone instinctively understands The Look. You know the one. The “I saw what you just did, and I am deeply, cosmically unimpressed” face.
Researchers call it a universal nonverbal cue.
I call it “Tuesday.”
Easter Sunrise Celebration: Praising the Risen King Together with Calvary Chapel NW at the NW WA Fairgrounds
There’s just something about an Easter sunrise service that hits different—maybe it’s the coffee, maybe it’s the cold air, or maybe it’s the reminder that the Son really did rise.
Lynette and Pastor Tom are inviting Whatcom County to bundle up, show up, and celebrate Jesus as the resurrection and the life at the NW WA Fairground bleachers bright and early. If you’re craving hope, community, and a front‑row seat to God’s goodness (rain or shine), this will be the most meaningful way to start your Easter morning.

Weight‑Room Weak, Grocery‑Bag Strong
Ever wondered what truly fuels the male ego? According to Brant, it’s not bench‑pressing a small car or having biceps that enter the room before you do — it’s the sacred art of carrying every single grocery bag in one trip, fingers turning purple but pride fully intact. Brant explains that while he may not be “weight‑room strong,” he is absolutely “haul‑17‑bags‑from‑the‑car strong,” which, in his world, is the highest possible honor.

Why Should I Even Pray?
If you're struggling to know, why should I even pray? I understand feeling that way. I thought that way growing up. "Well, He already knows everything about what's going on." But that's looking at it mathematically almost, through this hyper logical lens. The truth is you actually read the Bible, you find God being really responsive in conversation with people.
Read the conversation He has with Moses on Sinai, for instance, or with Abraham. The back and forth stuff when people are being genuine is amazing. I don't want to miss that. And I ask Him to please...
The Day the News Took a Nap (and the Piano Took Over)
Brant, our resident “shock jock” who is only shocking in the sense that he occasionally remembers historical dates, kicks things off by retelling the story of one glorious day in 1930 when the BBC basically shrugged, said “Yeah… nothing’s happening,” and filled the news slot with piano music instead.
This concept Sherri immediately endorses because honestly, who among us wouldn’t trade today’s headlines for a little background jazz.

Our Habits Determine Our Future
People do not decide their futures, they decide their habits and their habits decide their futures. -F.M. Alexander
We all love dreaming about our future selves, but Brant & Sherri remind us that it’s our everyday habits—not the big plans—that quietly steer the ship. Even if they’re not totally sure who FM Alexander is, they’re all in on the idea that what we repeatedly think and do shapes where we end up.
The Art of Not Getting Pulled Into Everything
Some situations practically beg for us to jump in and fix them, even when they’re not really ours to manage. Brant & Sherri remind us that pausing to ask whether our involvement actually helps can save a lot of stress. And for those who lean on faith, sometimes the wisest move is stepping back and trusting God to handle what we don’t need to carry.
Chuck E. Cheese: Where Pizza Meets Pandemonium and the Police
If you’ve ever wondered what happens when you mix flashing lights, unlimited tickets, and other people’s children, Brant & Sherri have the answer—and it apparently involves police sirens. Turns out Chuck E. Cheese isn’t just serving pizza; it’s serving full‑blown gladiator energy.
Burger King CEO Shares His Phone Number and Brant Immediately Turns It Into a Royal Recruitment
Brant and Sherri kick things off by unpacking the boldest customer‑service move in fast‑food history: the Burger King CEO handing out his phone number like a coupon. Naturally, Brant treats this as an invitation, leaving Tom a voicemail pitching the greatest crossover in fast‑food history—buying Grimace, the big purple free agent McDonald’s keeps forgetting they have, and crowning him the new Burger King. Because nothing says “marketing genius” like a royal purple blob choosing better fries.

Breaking Animal News: Llamas in England Capture Thief
Brant and Sherri have breaking news that suggests animals are about three weeks away from running the justice system: eight llamas in England allegedly surrounded a fleeing thief, screamed their official llama siren, and then calmly escorted him to police like woolly hall monitors with badges. Sherri questions the legitimacy of Brant's news, but of course Brant is absolutely convinced it is, and the llamas—somewhere in a field—are probably drafting their union contract.

Brant Hansen on the Disco Disaster on Wheels
A bus ride took a hard left turn into disco-fueled chaos when one passenger put “Freak Out” on repeat—prompting several grandmas to do exactly that. Brant swears everyone survived, but the song definitely didn’t.
When Humility Has the Loudest Voice
Paul’s humility hits differently when you remember he wrote most of the New Testament, yet never once did he try to brand himself as “The Apostle Paul.” Instead, he chose titles like servant of Christ and even chief of sinners, reminding us that greatness in God’s kingdom is never about spotlight or status. It’s a quiet nudge to lay down our own need to be impressive, and pick up the joy of simply belonging to Jesus.

Behind the Music, Movie & Book: Lynette Interviews Bart Millard
Bart Millard is back with a brand‑new chapter of storytelling, and this time I Can Only Imagine 2 dives into the real‑life journey behind “Even If” and his family’s battle with his son’s early diabetes diagnosis. Between the movie and his new book, Bart shows how faith, honesty, and a whole lot of heart can turn even the hardest seasons into something beautifully redemptive.
A Better Day is Coming
It’s completely normal to feel like a tough season is never going to end. When life is heavy, it’s hard to imagine anything different. But the heart of this message is a gentle reminder: if you’re trusting God, you’re not stuck. Better days are coming. Not just a little better—layer‑after‑layer better, like stepping into a bigger, brighter world each time.
We get small glimpses of joy here, hints of something so much richer ahead. So if you’re in the middle of something hard and it feels endless, take a breath. It won’t last fo...

Your Prayers are Good Enough
There’s something so sweet about the way kids proudly hand you their drawings—no perfection, no pressure, just pure connection. In this episode, Brant and Sherri use that simple moment to remind us that prayer works the same way: God isn’t grading our words or waiting for us to “get it right.” Like a loving parent, He delights in the effort, the honesty, and the heart behind every prayer we bring.
God is Not Far Away - He is Right there With You
We all have moments when God feels far away, like we’re sending up a long‑distance call and hoping He picks up. But in this episode, Brant & Sherri remind us of a much gentler truth: God isn’t distant at all—He’s as close as your next breath. The kingdom of heaven is right here, and God is already near, simply waiting for us to turn toward Him.
Brant Hansen on Short Prayers
Some days we have time for long, lingering prayers—and other days all we can manage is a quick, “Lord, I need You.” The beautiful thing is that Scripture reminds us those short, specific, urgent prayers still matter deeply. Whether you’re walking into a tough meeting, facing a hard conversation, or just trying to get through the day, a simple, honest cry for help is enough to bring God right into the moment with you.
Don't Discount Yourself - You Were Placed Here on Purpose
Sometimes we’re so quick to overlook our own worth, brushing off the idea that we matter as much as everyone else seems to. But the truth is quieter and far more beautiful: you’re here because God wanted you here. You’re part of His vision for a world filled with beauty, peace, and purpose, and your presence in it is no accident.

Barry Graul from MercyMe Chats with Lynette About Their New Album and Upcoming Concert
Lynette sat down with Barry Graul from MercyMe, and he's here to remind us that God’s wonder can still break through our busy, coffee‑fueled lives—and sometimes that comes by way of a guitar riff!
Their new album, Wonder and Awe, leans into joy and rediscovering the beauty of God’s creation, all while the legacy of “I Can Only Imagine” continues tugging at our hearts. With the Abbotsford concert on April 23rd and I Can Only Imagine 2 hitting theaters February 20th, the band clearly isn’t slowing down anytime soon.
Three Things Brant Would Tell a New Believer
Stepping into faith for the first time can feel both exciting and overwhelming, and Brant offers three simple, grounding reminders that speak right to the heart.
He encourages new believers to tuck God’s Word into memory so it can steady and guide them in everyday moments, to lean into community because we were never meant to walk this journey alone, and to keep your eyes on God rather than the imperfections of people.

Faith in Action: How The Resilient Project Transforms Young Lives with Nat Tillis
There’s something powerful about watching God restore hope in a young person’s story. The Resilient Project, founded by Nat Tillis in 2019, is a faith-driven mentoring program supporting underserved youth who have faced trauma and adversity. Caring adults commit to spending weekly time with their mentees, helping them uncover the gifts God has placed within them. With 64 kids enrolled and only half currently matched, the need for mentors is still great. To learn more or make a referral, visit resilientproject.org.

The Town Name So Long It Deserves Its Own Zip Code
Have you ever stumbled across a town name so long it feels like someone fell asleep on their keyboard? That’s exactly what Sherri and I got into—specifically an 85‑letter New Zealand town name that I’m convinced requires both a linguistics degree and a hydration break to pronounce. And all I could think was: imagine being a high school cheerleader trying to fit that on a megaphone. Honestly, by the time you finish the first syllable, halftime is over.
The name of the town you ask?

Why We Don’t Know Our Neighbors Anymore (and Why It Matters)
Brant and Sherri dive into how most of us barely know the people living just a few feet away, and honestly—it’s kind of wild how normal that’s become. Between garage‑door living and packed schedules, it’s no wonder we’re waving at neighbors we couldn’t name if our lives depended on it.
This is a reminder that real community doesn’t magically appear anymore; it grows slowly, on purpose, with tiny moments of effort. And if it feels hard, that’s because it is—but it’s also worth it.
"Get Out" Is the Christmas Song We Didn’t Know We Needed
Holiday cheer meets holiday boundaries in Brant’s original song, “Get Out.” 🎄🔔 It’s the perfect festive anthem for those guests who just don’t know when to leave—complete with jingle bells, polite hints, and a tongue‑in‑cheek threat to call the cops.

Does Asking for Advice Really Make You Smarter?
Harvard says asking for advice makes you look smarter—but Brant isn’t buying it. After all, nothing says “genius” like wandering AutoZone or Home Depot looking lost while internally begging for help with car parts or power tools. Sherri’s with him on this one, proving that sometimes “competence” is just a fancy word for “I still don’t know what I’m doing.”
Hope in the Storm: Samaritan’s Purse Serves Flooded Communities
When floodwaters rise, so do opportunities for God’s people to show His love in action. In Lynden, Samaritan’s Purse—led on the ground by Jacob—is once again stepping into the gap, just as they did in 2021, to serve families facing heartbreaking loss. With teams removing damaged belongings, offering prayers, and staying ready for the long haul, their presence is a reminder that hope is stronger than disaster. Whether you’re in need of help or feel called to volunteer, this is a chance to see the body of Christ at work—meeting physical needs while pointing hearts to eternal c...

Taylor Mills on Ways to Connect With Each Other During the Holidays
Christmas is more than twinkling lights, festive songs and family gatherings. It’s a season to draw closer to God and to one another. For couples, creating faith-centered traditions can transform December into a time of spiritual connection and intentional love.
Whether it’s lighting a candle each night while offering prayers of gratitude, sending Scripture-inspired messages of encouragement, or enjoying a phone-free evening to truly listen and engage, these practices invite Christ into your relationship and make the season deeply meaningful.
