I love getting presents from people, but do you know what is better than that?

The good feeling that comes from giving a present to someone last longer than when you receive a present.

Go figure.

Some things in life, when given away, come back to you in greater amounts...

Sharing something that you have to offer, be it a creative talent or a practical thing you can do, even if it's not the best in the world, is a precious gift...

Failure and mistakes are inevitable...

But it's what you do next that is really important.

Tough times can bring out the worst in people, but what we often forget, is that during those same challenges, we see the best in people come through.

When it comes to generosity and love, we cannot express what we have not received...perhaps we can notice when we have received it and help those who may never have.

It's not schadenfreude, it's freudenfreude and it's here to make your life much better...

Even though accepting a gift from someone can be a good thing for you and them, there might be times when it is better to say "no".

To an elephant for example.

Sometimes, just by accepting a gift from someone, you are showing them generosity.

It's all a matter of perspective, and it's not a bad thing.

There is a way for your world to grow, even if you are lonely and in isolation...

What we say matters, and how we behave also matters.

What about our viewing habits?

Being intentional about generosity means that you know how much, how often and to whom you are giving.

Giving first, before you spend, is a great way to ensure you are as generous as you want to be.

You'd be surprise how many philanthropists give to both major Australian political parties.

I'm not suggesting you do the same, but it goes to show that it is good to give to more than one organisation.

If you think that when you come in to a large sum of money you will be able to be generous and give some away, you are kidding yourself if you aren't doing that already.

Generosity doesn't start when you have lots of money at some random time in the future. It starts now.

It's not just because I didn't enjoy the subject in high school, it's also because Economic theories have some fundamental flaws.

It's Lorraine. She is worth her weight in gold, but doesn't earn a cent.

She probably deserves a pay rise.

My job is to raise money, and I used to ask people to give their money to Opportunity International Australia.

It felt a bit weird, so I stopped and tried something else.

Why do people give to charities?

It comes down to what they are trying to achieve in this world, and what their values are.

Doing what you have always done can be helpful, but if something changes perhaps your old habits are no longer serving you.

Ask "Henry", the vacuum cleaner.

We know they tell us to do that in an emergency flight situation, but most of the time we don't need to put on our own mask first.

In fact, it can be holding us back.

"I just call it as I see it!"

Sure, but if you call it like a jerk, you will see it like a jerk.

There is a generous way to be refreshingly honest.

Your purpose is not normally discovered somewhere "out there", but usually where you are right now.

There are little things that you can do today, right where you are to help uncover what your purpose is.

You go where you focus.

So are you aiming to do something or are you aiming to not do something. It sounds like a small thing, but it can make the world of difference.

Global population has skyrocketed over the last 200 years, is anyone still worried about it?

Can we really end poverty?

Jesus didn't seem to think so...

I'm not great, but the good news is that there are other ways to be generous...

Generosity. Here is what is, and what it isn't.

The opposite of love is note hate, it is fear.

Fear destroys. It is stingy.

Love is outrageously generous.
