In a somewhat surprising last minute offseason addition, the Rangers went out and signed unrestricted free agent Eeli Tolvanen to a 1 year deal to round out what I would consider to be a great offseason. Tolvanen is a former first round pick who has eclipsed 20 goals before, is tough on the puck, and plays a physical brand of hockey. I think the signing will be good for the Rangers if they can get the most out of him and is certainly a low-risk move. The New York Rangers had themselves an extremely busy weekend to kick off the offseason, and have reignited our hopes in potentially reaching the playoffs, and at the very least improving the result from last season. The draft started out with the selection of Alberts Smits, and a huge trade involving two first round picks for Pavel Dorofeyev, an elite scoring winger from Vegas.
