22 at the Lips
22 at the Lips is a podcast about EMS from actual in-the-field providers. With your Host, Alexis Stout, we'll talk about our downfalls, our positive aspects, and all the great things about this job. It's sporadic, it's organized chaos—it's our job.
Telemedicene: the good, the bad, & the glitchy...
Primarily during COVID-era times, EMS agencies utilized telemedicene protocols to mitigate "fixing" a patient enough to, per situational dependency, the patient could forgo an ER trip... I've had a dabble in some calls, and based on conversations and what I've learned, here are my opinions.

mental health matters
September is suicide prevention month, and on this podcast, I'm a huge proponent of mental health, and as you'll hear in this episode, maybe I'm also a fan of rambling and rabbit trails that relate to the same central topics:
- How mental health affects our patients/how we interact with them?
- How mental health affects us as first responders.
I also give some personal lore. Sorta.
Biggest thing: you matter. Suicide is never the answer, and the pain you feel is matched with the idea of never getting closure an...
EMS: job, career, or profession?
YEP, I'M BACK! (this episode is unedited, so, enjoy the "raw" cut :)
like a broken record, I talk about how this job changes you- but it shouldn't CONSUME you. Is a job in EMS, no matter your position, is it a career, a profession, or a job? I'll break down these terms, talk about how it relates to our field, and why EMS/being a first responder shouldn't be your identity.
