ACC men’s basketball over the past few years has been less than stellar and pundits have been declaring an early death for the conference. Well, it appears that the slumber is over. Duke, Louisville, North Carolina and Virginia all hold spots...

11/17/2025

Isn’t a bit baffling that people are complaining about the wild and wooly world of ACC football? As if adding some excitement into their weekend was some kind of bad thing? Get real folks. Embrace the madness as it is truly epic. We’ve never had so much to talk about at this point in the season in years and that includes Coastal Chaos, which on the face of it was just ‘click-bait’ anyway. There’s no denying it. This IS a football conference and it’s only getting better.

Duke | Devils In The Details – 1 May Be A Magic Number
11/11/2025

After watching several weeks of unusual and unexpected finishes in ACC football who would have imagined Duke having a shot at the ACC Championship Game? That’s right folks, the Blue Devils could be in line for a trip to Charlotte but let’s not get too far ahead of ourselves just yet. The conference standings have Georgia Tech, Virginia, SMU, Pitt and Duke lined up with one loss thus far. Duke still has 3 games to go, Virginia, North Carolina and Wake Forest. Football | ACC Week 9 Review, Picks And Well, Bye
10/27/2025

It might be considered ‘beating a dead horse’ to continue harping on how much parity NIL and the Transfer Portal has brought to college football. The thing is, it’s a solid truth as evidenced by the up’s and down’s in every conference. You see it every week in the scoreboards, the number of upsets, overtime games and an unreal number of Top 25 teams showing themselves the exit or disappearing altogether. College football is a blast.

Football | ACC Week 8 Review, Picks And Special Guest
10/20/2025

What is ACC football? A wild adventure every week that feels a bit like the movie, ‘Jumanji: Welcome To The Jungle’. Parity has kicked in and there are more teams than ever before capable of fighting for a spot among the top tier of the conference. Granted this weekly topsy-turvy field of fun may not sit well with some fanbases (depending on the week) the most amusing thing is watching national pundits try to disavow how exciting ACC football has become and dig deep in their bag of tomfoolery to say things like you can’t ‘trust the conference’. What? Pack...

Football | ACC Week 7 Review + Week 8 Picks
10/14/2025

ACC football has entered the back half of the regular season and the countdown to the conference championship and bowl eligibility has begun. Apparently there are still some surprises available in the weekly grab bag both from teams and individuals.

The shorter schedule, seven teams were on bye weeks, still presented some fun ball. The wow-factor kicked in with Pitt and their true freshman QB Mason Heintschel who battled it out with Florida State in Tallahassee. Both the Panthers and Seminoles pounded it out on both sides of the ball where only a handful of miscues helped...

Quinlan doesn’t hold back and provides his unvarnished thoughts on how teams and individuals are and aren’t performing. Let’s just say, the title, Altered Expectations, Performance Issues is spot on though it sounds like an article that you’d find in, Men’s Health magazine.

Are you re-thinking how the ACC rankings should look? You’d be in the major...

Football | ACC Week 5 Review, Picks And Special Guest
09/29/2025

College football across the board was wild and wooly. From upsets to close calls it was a pucker up weekend for fans. The ACC began it’s weekend with a Friday night clash of leaders in offensive delivery as Florida State visited Virginia for a game that, on paper, sure seemed like a shoe-in for the Noles. As the clock wound down the slipper found on the stairs belonged to the Wahoos.

Special guest, Jacquie Franciulli, Publisher of Wahoos 247 was at Scott Stadium and drops in to share her thoughts and observations on the game. Can Virginia co...

Football | ACC Week 4 Review + Lazy Picks In Week 5
09/23/2025

Wins, losses and some head-scratching out-comes are all part of what makes ACC football so dynamic week to week. Will and Jim start off with some interesting news on added games for the future, thoughts on the ACC Network and The CW and reflect on why Clemson fans who are calling for Dabo’s head should take a chill pill with a big swig of Upstate’s finest shine.

Week 4 has allowed us to shake off enough dust off teams to see if there’s a Shelby Mustang under there or just a Dodge Dart. There are a few...

The guys received some stink-eye over their pick of Georgia Tech over Clemson but the proof is in the pudding. Hopefully you didn’t miss the Backyard Brawl because it was everything you’d want in a college football game, well, except the win for Pitt. Miami demonstrated their...

Football | ACC Week 2 Review + Upsets In Week 3
09/08/2025

What would ACC football be without some WT* games each week? Far less entertaining and this week was a blast on many levels. There were some sluggish performances, some games on hyper-drive and plenty of play that leaves folks scratching their heads. Will and Jim run them all down for you and share some observations from each in this review of week 2 on ACC Nation.

Here it is, week 1 of ACC football and there are some enormous matchups coming your way. Will and Jim run down the schedule and make their picks. As always there are some random thoughts tossed in for good measure as well. See if you agree with their selections.

The official start to the conference season began in Week 0 (shouldn’t that be 1?) with Stanford traveling to Hawai’i where they dropped a frustrating game that hopefully won’t be an indicator for the rest of the Cardinal schedule.

Syracuse | The Gems In Your Own Backyard

Florida State | Aggressive Out Of The Chute
08/27/2025

What exactly is it going to take to bring back the confidence and swagger once found in Florida State football? Head coach Mike Norvell has a monumental challenge on his hands, some created by him and a lot that hasn’t been. The Seminoles want, need to get back on track and there’s no better way than to be aggressive out of the chute with a huge first game matchup.

Special guest, Curt Weiler of Tomahawk Nation and Field Level Media joins Will and Jim to break down two aspects of this team. What was and what...

Wake Forest | Football 101: What Once Was Is No Longer
08/25/2025

Pigeonholing a football team like Wake Forest based on previous performance would be short-sighted. It’s been easy over the years to simply synopsize but now it’s approaching fool-hardy to not do your homework. We can all agree that NIL and the Transfer Portal have flipped college football on it’s head. There’s still some lack of equality but plenty of room for the creative.

Cam Lemons Debro of 247’s Demon Deacon Digest joins Will and Jim to provide a preview of how Wake Forest football has and is changing. It starts with a new head coach...

Cal | What’s Up In Berkeley? The Creative Juices At Work
08/11/2025

If you aren’t familiar with Cal then there’s one thing you should know. The creative juices flow and when they put their minds to something count on some creative twists and turns. When it comes to football you shouldn’t fall back on what the Golden Bears did last year to project what they’ll do this season. One key element to take into consideration is Ron Rivera. Special guest Jim McGill of Bear Insider previews the team with Will and Jim and explains what’s different.

It’s an interesting turn of events on and off the...

Virginia | What Makes For A Great Season?
08/04/2025

The answer to that question for Virginia football fans lies within this episode of ACC Nation with Will and Jim as Brad Franklin of CavsCorner previews the Wahoos. We’re hearing it more and more with ACC football previews, the number of players coming in from the portal is making it difficult to keep up with everyone. That ultimately leads to, how can anyone know with any certainty what that team or for that matter how any team will perform?

Fortunate for us we know someone similar to Nostradamus when it comes to the Cavaliers. Well, at le...
