Ep 212 - Wednesday Rant - Busy Doesn't Mean Better
In this week's Wednesday Wisdom, I talk about a trap I see golfers fall into all the time: being busy instead of being productive. It's easy to spend hours at the driving range, hit hundreds of balls, and walk away feeling like you've worked hard.
But if your practice has no purpose, no feedback, and no plan, those hours often lead to very little improvement. In this episode, I explain the difference between simply putting in time and practising with intention. Whether you're a junior golfer chasing bigger goals, a club golfer trying to lower your handicap, or a...

Ep 210 - Robert Garrigus: The Community College Golfer Who Made It to the PGA Tour
This week, I’m joined by former PGA Tour winner Robert Garrigus. Robert shares the journey from community college golf to competing against the best players in the world, proving there is more than one pathway to the PGA Tour.
We discuss how he became one of the longest hitters in professional golf, his breakthrough years between 2010 and 2012, what it's like contending in major championships, and his memorable T3 finish at the 2011 U.S. Open. We also dive into his unique short-putter setup, the realities of life on tour, lessons learned from playoff defeats, and the advice he'd give as...
Ep 209 - Wednesday Wisdom - Is Your Set Up for Short Game Costing You Strokes?
One of the biggest mistakes I see golfers make around the greens is using the same setup regardless of the lie. When you've got a soft, wet lie, the club can dig into the turf very easily. A simple adjustment that can make a huge difference is standing a little taller and allowing the shaft to sit more upright at address. When golfers get too bent over with the handle very low, the leading edge tends to dig. By standing taller, you can encourage the club to work through the turf with less resistance and use the bounce more effectively...
Ep 208 - Earl McGlinn: Building Australia’s Next Generation of Elite Golfers
In this episode of the Your Golf Performance Podcast, we sit down with Earl McGlinn — one of Australia's leading high-performance golf coaches. We dive into Earl's journey from player to coach, the lessons he learned caddying for emerging tour professionals, and what separates talented juniors from those who successfully make the leap to elite amateur and professional golf. Earl shares his coaching ph...

Ep 203 - Wednesday Wisdom: "Swing Your Swing" – The Most Misunderstood Advice in Golf.
Wednesday Wisdom: "Swing Your Swing" – The Most Misunderstood Advice in Golf.
One of the most common phrases you'll hear in golf is, "Just swing your swing."And to a point, I understand what people mean.
When you look at the best players in the world, not everybody swings the club the same way. Jim Furyk, Matthew Wolff, Bubba Watson, Scottie Scheffler – they all have movements that look unique.
But here's what most golfers miss...Those players have spent decades building those swings. They've hit millions of golf balls. They've learned exactly how to time those movements and make...

Ep 201 - Wednesday Wisdom - Invest In Yourself.
In this Wednesday Wisdom episode, I dive into one of the biggest separators between average golfers and players who actually improve long term — investing in yourself.I reference LIV Golf winner Lucas Herbert and how, after earning one of his first big paydays in professional golf, he immediately reinvested into his career by surrounding himself with the right team: coaches, physios, fitness trainers, and mental performance support.
Too many golfers say they want to improve, yet they continue to guess their way through practice, avoid the uncomfortable work, and spend more time doing what feels good instead of what ac...

This week on Wednesday Wisdom, Brent Dale dives into the incredible career journey of Justin Rose — and why golfers should follow the PLAYER, not just the TOUR.From finishing 4th at The Open as a 17-year-old amateur, to missing cuts, losing confidence, rebuilding his game, winning a U.S. Open, becoming World No.1, and fighting through form slumps later in his career… Justin Rose’s story is one of the best examples of what elite golf REALLY looks like. This episode explores:Why golf careers are never linearThe hidden struggles even elite players faceWhat juniors, parents, and golfers can learn from R...

We also chat about Scotty...

Ep 195 - Wednesday Wisdom - Follow a PLAYER, not the TOUR.
In this week’s Wednesday Wisdom, Brent dives into a simple shift that can completely change how you view your own golf… Stop following the PGA Tour — and start following a player. When you watch the PGA Tour highlights, you’re seeing the absolute best of the best, at their absolute best. Flagsticks getting attacked, putts dropping from everywhere, and scorecards that look almost unrealistic. But that’s not real golf. In this episode, Brent explains why following an individual player gives you a far more accurate picture of what the game actually looks like — the ups, the downs, the missed cuts...

Ep 175 - Wednesday (midweek) Wisdom - The 32-Metre Gap That Wasn’t a Swing Fault
This week I want to share a really interesting lesson from a coaching session that opened up a bigger conversation about performance. I had a client who has been improving really nicely. His swing is trending in the right direction, contact is better, and overall ball flight has improved. But there was still one big frustration… inconsistency with his irons. So we put him on the launch monitor. With his 7 iron, his carry distance was ranging anywhere from 109 metres to 141 metres. That’s a 32-metre gap with the same club. For any golfer, that’s nearly the difference between being on the...
