Evidence 4 Faith is an apologetics ministry founded in 2021 by biologist and Bible speaker Michael Lane to equip Christians with the tools to defend their faith and point people to God through the study of the Cosmos. Ask Michael: Isn't the Bible Wrong About the Size of a Mustard Seed?
Was Jesus incorrect when He was sharing the Parable of the Mustard Seed that is recorded in Matthew 13:31-32? He claims that the mustard seed is the smallest of all the seeds and that it will grow into a tree that is larger than all the plants. But though the seed is indeed quite small, it will only grow to a tree about eight feet tall. Is this an error in the Bible? Or is there a reasonable explanation as to why Jesus said this? The Gospel of John Lesson 43: The Judge - 5:22-24
As we have been studying chapter 5, it is becoming quite clear that Jesus was stating that He and the Father are equal – they are of one mind, have perfect harmony, and are of the same essence. In today’s passage, we read that Jesus states that He is the Judge, and as we know from Genesis and Psalms, God is the Judge of the earth. The Gospel of John Lesson 42: The Authority of the Son - 5:19-21
Jesus was not just a wise teacher or a prophet, He was, and is, the Son of God. In today’s passage we see Jesus defending this claim. His equality with God is equal in person, works, and even power to raise people from the dead. He can do all things that the Father can do and cannot do what the Father cannot do – sin. Many critics say that Jesus never claimed to be God, but in today’s passage, He does indeed make that claim. Jesus is equal to God and He is the Son of God. The Gospel of John Lesson 40: The Sabbath Breaker - 5:16-17
The past few lessons our studies have focused on the story of Jesus healing the lame man on the Sabbath, breaking the man-made laws of the Mishnah. In today’s passage, Jesus declares that God is always working and He Himself is God. God never ceases to work – He is constantly sustaining all of Creation. And so, if God doesn’t cease to work, then we can expect the same from Jesus, as He is indeed God.

The Gospel of John Lesson 39: Who is the Man? - 5: 12-15
At first, the once lame man from Bethesda did not know who it was that had healed him. When the Jews asked him, he could not give them a name. Artifact Facts: The Shroud of Turin Part One: The Image
The Shroud of Turin – the most intensively studied artifact of all time. This ancient linen cloth depicts the image of a man who we can visibly see was beaten, bore a crown of thorns, scourged, stabbed, and clearly crucified Roman style. Could this have possibly been the burial cloth of Jesus? Michael was skeptical and doubted the authenticity for years, but has further studying of the artifact changed his mind? Artifact Facts: Broken Idols of Hazor
In Joshua 11, it is recorded that Joshua and the Israelites destroyed the city of Hazor, burning it to the ground. And according to the Law of Moses, they would have destroyed and burned all the pagan idols, not leaving one untouched. Many people have heard of King David, King Solomon, and even King Hezekiah, but the king who claims the title of having the longest reign, is unfamiliar to most.
