Laurie Lawrence is a living legend; undoubtedly, the most passionate swim coach the world has ever seen. Laurie has helped coach, guide, and support Australia at 8 Olympic Games.

In 1956, his father became the manager of Trobruk Pool where the Australian Olympic swim team held training camps. He grew up as a kid being around the very best: Forbes Carlile, Dawn Fraser, and Murray Rose, just to name a few. This was his introduction to the sport of swimming. 

As a coach, over 30 swimmers have made the Olympic team under Laurie, including Champions...


#152 Jeremy Linn
Last Thursday at 1:44 PM

American Jeremy Linn won Silver in the 100 Breast at the 1996 Olympics in Atlanta. He was also part of Team USA's World Record breaking 4x100 Medley Relay that captured Gold -- his fastest split ever.

While at the University of Tennessee, he won 4 NCAA titles and held the 100 Breast record for a decade. 

He's been a long time coach with Nation's Capitol Swim Club getting to start NCAP West out in Warrenton, Virginia from scratch. NCAP is one of America's premier swim clubs with over 2,000 kids at 11 sites.

#151 Andrew Baildon

Andrew Baildon is a 2x Olympic swimmer (1988 & 1992) from Australia, making his first team at just 16 years old. In 1990 he won multiple gold medals at the Commonwealth Games in Auckland, shooting him to stardom in Australia.

In 1996, along with his wife Karen, opened the Andrew Baildon Aquatic Centres. They now have 60 swim instructors teaching over 5,000 swim lessons a week in Queensland. 

Andrew is also currently on the Board of Directors at Swimming Australia.

#150 Bill Pilczuk

Bill Pilczuk is the Head Coach of the Men's and Women's Swimming & Diving teams at The Savannah College of Art and Design. Bill is the reigning NAIA Coach of the Year. The Women's team has won 3 straight NAIA Championships. 

As a swimmer, Bill was a dragon slayer. He became World Champion in the Men's 50 Free at the 1998 World Championships in Perth, Australia, taking down the greatest sprinter of all time in Alex Popov.

Kim Vandenberg won an Olympic bronze medal as part of Team USA's 4x200 Free Relay at the 2008 Games in Beijing. She qualified and swam at 5 straight US Olympic Trials, capturing the dreaded 3rd place in the 200 Fly 2 times.  

Kim is a mentor for Rise Athletes, a Fitter & Faster coach, a serious Yogi, world traveler, and small business owner. Todd DeSorbo is the Head Coach of the Men's & Women's Swimming & Diving Teams at the University of Virginia. The UVA Women just took home their first ever NCAA Championship while the Men's team placed 9th.

Roland Schoeman is a 4-time Olympian from South Africa. At the 2004 Olympics in Athens, Roland won a Bronze (50 Free), a Silver (100 Free), and a Gold (4x100 Free Relay). Regarded as having the best start in swimming, Roland was the first human to break 23 in the 50 Fly LCM.

Bill Kirby is an Olympic gold medal winning swimmer from Australia. He was part of the 4x200 Free Relay that won in 2000. They broke that relay's World Record 3 different times (1998, 2000, 2001).

Bill has recently moved back to Perth and opened up a swim school & swim team: Kirby Swim.

Zach Apple is one of Team USA's premier 50/100/200 Freestylers. He won the 100 and 200 Free at the World University Games in 2019 and was part of Team USA's World Champion 4x100 Free Relay in Gwangju that same year.

Corona came. Zach didn't touch the water for 3 months. Then he ripped a 48.5 in practice after just 2.5 months of doing singles.
