Rivaling past blizzards on Delmarva, the Blizzard of '26 will be talked about for years to come. Highs winds brought down trees and caused power outages. Heavy snow bands dumped snow at rates similar to lake effect snow events in the Great Lakes. There was even thundersnow! Chief Meteorologist Rich Wirdzek and Meteorologist Jake Grant look at the data from the storm and discuss how this nor'easter was classic textbook in its formation and how this coastal storm impacted the entire region.
E5: February Thaw
Meteorologists Jake Grant and Erich Ahlf are back this week, discussing the slow shift back to near average temperatures across the mid-Atlantic. After several weeks of bitter cold and leftover snow and ice that was stubborn to melt, the next storm system is poised to be a rainmaker only as arctic air remains locked north in Canada.

Although not nearly as cold as arctic air can be in the winter, this pattern may reflect a sign of where we're headed as winter draws near. The cold air also brought the first snowflakes of the season to many locations near Delmarva...even south of the area!
