Rana Soluri, a 47-year-old flight attendant from Fort Worth, Texas, disappeared in March 2025 after failing to return to work following a medical procedure. Her roommate, Dennis William Day, confessed to strangling her during an argument and dumping her body off a bridge, leading to his arrest for murder while DNA testing confirmed her recovered remains in October 2026.

Her remains were then discovered in September 2023 in Saguache County, leading officials to rule her death a homicide caused by lethal intoxication from animal tranquilizers and reinstating intense legal scrutiny on the case.

While Brandon was driving home after celebrating the end of his college semester, he accidentally steered his sedan into a rural roadside ditch. Uninjured, he called his parents for assistance, remained on the call with them for 47 minutes while walking across farmland in the dark toward what he believed was a nearby town. The call ended abruptly after Brandon uttered a brief expletive ("Oh, shit!") followed by sudden silence.
