That's Not Cranberry Sauce (Blood Rage)
#258
Last Tuesday at 3:00 PM

It's the start of NOGcember and as usual we're still chewing on our Thanksgiving Leftovers. This year's Thanksgiving Leftovers episode is on a movie we were suppose to have talked about last year, Blood Rage.

This year we didn't skimp on anything and are gonna make sure you get all the fixings, including the cranberry sauce.

Before we can start on Blood Rage there are a few new trailers that we need to talk about including, Return to Silent Hill, Send Help, and Night Patrol.

After those trailers it's onto the main even w...

Snake the Drain (Malibu Express and Hard Ticket to Hawaii)
#257
11/25/2025

Well it's the final week of Thankful For Action November, and as always we're always doing the action movies that bang that hardest. This week we're talking Malibu Express and Hard Ticket to Hawaii and when the guns aren't firing the explosions are still going off. Luckily there's always a cool shower to get out of the heat and into the fire.

These are two movies where the action isn't always hand to hand but there is a lot of contact... They're Andy Sidaris films starring Playmates. They're... Subtle.

Anyways at the end of this...

Maniac V Samurai: Battle of the Cops (Samurai Cop)
#256
11/18/2025

The third episode of Thankful For Action November is a battle of the cops, Robert Z'Dar otherwise known as Maniac Cop vs Mathew Karedas the Samurai Cop. They're gonna clash blades, and eat bullets in a fierce battle in which only one can survive. Jesse was unable to handle the intense action of the film and had to bail out, luckily our Robert Z'Dar specialist Kenneth Leonard decided to step in his spot.

Before we can talk a movie this intense we have to work our way up to it with a few trailers. In this episode...

It's a Kind of Magic (The Magic Crystal and New York Ninja)
#255
11/11/2025

Thankful For Action November continues with a Cynthia Rothrock...kind of... Double header. We're talking two martial arts extravaganzas, The Magic Crystal and New York Ninja. One of which features Rothrock in all her full blown baddassery and the other putting the focus on her acting chops as she drops her voice over a 1980s... Masterpiece?

We'll break down both of these movies and let you know whether or not they are... BLOODY GOOD FILMS!

We encourage everyone to watch along while you listen and make sure to comment and let us know what you...

Eternity of Friendship (Miami Connection)
#254
11/04/2025

It's finally the most special time of the year, Thankful For Action November. The month where we focus entirely on action cinema. This week it's an action classic, Miami Connection. A movie that shows you what a synth band full of orphans can do with the power of friendship and Tae Kwon Do!

Before that we have to catch up on some trailers. We're talking the trailers for The Carpenter's Son, Stranger Things, Silent Night Deadly Night, and Scream 7.

Then it's onto the main feature where we break down Miami Connection and let you know...

Fun Size Movies (Trick R' Treat and VHS Halloween)
#253
10/28/2025

This Horrortober hasn't been in as much of the Halloween spirit as usual. So we figured we'd hit you with a lot of shorts to make up for it. We're talking two anthology movies with some fun sized Halloween goodies for you, Trick R' Treat and VHS Halloween.

We'll dig into every story in these anthologies and determine whether or not the sum of them makes them... BLOODY GOOD FILMS!

We encourage everyone to watch along while you listen and make sure to comment and let us know what you think. If you haven't already...

White Wedding (Hatchet For the Honeymoon)
#252
10/21/2025

It took Josh getting married for the Bloody Good Film Podcast to finally do a Giallo film! Had to save it for a special occasion apparently. This week is another episode recorded in advance to celebrate Josh's wedding and for the hosts to take some time off. We left you all with Mario Bava's Hatchet for the Honeymoon... A movie surprisingly devoid of hatchets.

We'll go through the movie and answer the whether we do .... Or DO NOT think Hatchet For the Honeymoon is a bloody good film!

We encourage everyone to...

Grapes of Wrath (Psychos in Love)
#251
10/14/2025

It's October, or as we like to call it on the Bloody Good Film Podcast, Horrotober. Why is there a horror comedy that has absolutely nothing to do with Halloween being covered? Because Josh just got married dummies! To celebrate we recorded two wedding related episodes weeks ahead so he could enjoy a little married life without worrying about the podcast. Psychos in love was actually recommended by frequent guest host Kelly (who does appear on the podcast.)

They're gonna break down Psychos in Love and by the end of the episode they're gonna answer your question...

Rob Zombie's Halloween (House of 1,000 Corpses and 31)
#250
10/07/2025

That's right we have yet another Rob Zombie Halloween episode, only this time it's the night HE didn't come home. We're talking House of 1000 Corpses and 31. That's right... we're not clowning around this week... Or maybe we are actually. Notice the return of the biggest clown to the podcast Jesse, who has been mysteriously missing in action!

We're gonna go over each of these films at the start of our odd Horrortober Schedule and let you know if they are in fact... BLOODY GOOD FILM!

We encourage everyone to watch along while you listen and...

God Hates Us All (God's Not Dead)
#249
09/30/2025

You're looking at the title of this episode and wondering what the hell is going on? There was supposed to be some Toxic Avenger or a Sgt. Kabukiman NYPD this week instead you're seeing an episode on the David AR White Film, "God's Not Dead." Well... I'm gonna throw my cohost under the bus and tell you to blame Jesse for this one. We burned through all of are back up episodes in one month and as a result I had to ask friend of the podcast, Richard Gilliver of Sceptic Takeout if he didn't mind me reposting the...

Cunning Linguist (Sinners)
#248
09/23/2025

Your eyes do not deceive you. You have just received an episode of the podcast that was actually on the monthly schedule. Hopefully this wasn't just a fluke and is something you can at the very least count on for next week. Though schedules are not what you read this for. You read this blurb to hear about what's on today's episode. Who wants to live in a world of mystery when you can read a synopsis and know everything that's coming!?

This week we're talking the Ryan Coogler film, Sinners. We'll break down all the symbolism...

We Weren't Ready (Ready or Not)
#247
09/16/2025

Two weeks in a row and we haven't followed through on the schedule that we promised. Trust me it's weird for me too. Luckily when we burned our back up episode last the previous week we had this one already locked and ready to go. This was supposed to air next month the week when Josh got married but we were unable to record last week. So instead of leaving you with nothing you're getting our episode on Ready or Not!

By the end of this episode we will let you know whether or not Ready or...

Rotten to the Core (Top 10 Films Rated Under 20% on Rotten Tomatoes)
#246
09/09/2025

I've got to talk about Us. I know that's not something that anyone wants to hear but I want you to know that it's not your fault. Things just have a way of not going the way you'd hope... and well as of now... Us isn't a thing. At least our episode on Us isn't. Unfortunately our episode on Jordan Peele's film Us that we announced last week wasn't able to get recorded. But luckily we had a backup episode recorded a little while back.

This week instead of Us we're giving you our Top Ten Rotten...

Toxic Work Environment (Citizen Toxie: The Toxic Avenger Part IV and The Toxic Avenger remake)
#245
09/02/2025

We last checked on Toxie all the way back on episode 8 of the podcast. This month we're finally gonna wrap up the saga of Toxie. We're starting the month with Citizen Toxie. We know it's part 4 but the movie explicitly stated that by this movie 2 and 3 never happened. Then we're following it up with very spoiler filled discussion on the Toxic Avenger remake.

We'll talk the inside and outs of both these films and let you know if Citizen Toxie and The Toxic Avenger remake are ... BLOODY GOOD FILMS!

We encourage everyone to watch along...

Wrestling With My Demons (The Mummies of Guanajuato)
#244
08/26/2025

It's the final week of the 4th annual WrestleMonthia. So far on our weekly WrestleMonthia Wrestling Game Josh has done better than anyone has in all four years that WrestleMonthia has existed. Trust me when I tell you that that is an accomplishment to which even Olympic athletes would feel envious of. Not to mention all the free beers that Josh has earned on top of that. This week we'll see if the expected happens and Josh wins again.

After that we decided to check out the trailer for Good Boy, a horror film starring a very...

Sows of Jericho (Albino Farm and Dark Match)
#243
08/19/2025

Wrestlemonthia has really put us in a submission hold all month long with some difficult watches. This week was no different as we were put in the Walls of Jericho with a double feature starring wrestling legend and terrible metal singer, Chris Jericho. We talk the low budget horror that is Albino Farm, and the film made with Wrestlemonthia in mind, Dark Match.

After his epic failure in last week's wrestling trivia, Josh has called in his tag partner Kelly to try and avenge his defeat. Join us as we discuss everything from inbred J...

Temu Fog (River of Darkness)
#242
08/12/2025

Woof. We're onto week 2 of the 4th Annual WrestleMonthia and today's flick is starting Kurt Angle. The movie for everyone while watched The Fog and wondered what if John Carpenter didn't direct it and it started Kurt Angle, Kevin Nash among other wrestlers.

Before that there are a few trailers that caught our attention. Sweet Revenge (the Friday the 13th short), Shelby Oaks, and HIM.

After those it's onto the main event of WrestleMonthia, River of Darkness. We'll let you know whether or not this movie you've definitely heard of is... BLOODY...

Hogan's Heroes (Assault on Devil's Island and the Ultimate Weapon)
#241
08/05/2025

Well a hulk died and it wasn't in the MCU. So we decided to see the kind of legacy Hulk Hogan left behind... And well besides the racism and union back stabbing we found these two films, Assault on Devil's Island and The Ultimate Weapon. What a... Interesting start to WrestleMonthia.

By the end of this episode we'll let you know if these two films directed by Jon Cassar of 24 fame are in fact... BLOODY GOOD FILMS!

We encourage everyone to watch along while you listen and make sure to comment and let us know...

Just Call Me Angel in the MORNINGstar (Constantine)
#240
07/29/2025

Finishing off this comic book month with a movie that fits both the genres that matter, Constantine. Jesse had previously had a negative opinion about this one but we're gonna find out if his tastes have matoored or not.

Before that we have to talk a trailer for a new Christmas horror, The Silent Night Deadly Night remake. After that we're making up for Jesse missing last week's Punisher episode so we decided to check out the Dirty Laundry, Punisher short starting Thomas Jane.

Then it's onto Constantine where we'll finally let you know if...

Accent of Evil (The Punisher 1989 and Punisher: Warzone)
#239
07/22/2025

Frank Castle family are notorious for how dead they are, but Frank Castle is notorious for how he punishes. Well we have two dead families and two Punishing Castles in this episode as we talk the 1989 Dolph Lundgren lead Punisher and 2008's Ray Stevenson lead Punisher Warzone (what a title!). Jesse couldn't be bothered to show for this episode so it's just Josh and Kelly with VERY different opinions on both films.

Before they can Castle Talk the new Mortal Kombat trailer just dropped so they had to get a little Cagey here and break that down.<...

Torture Pick 1: La La Land
07/17/2025

Well this certainly isn't one of the only two genres of film that matter. This is the very first bonus episode under our format, Torture Picks. Torture Picks will be episodes where we talk ONLY films outside action or horror that at least one of the co hosts hates, or assume will hate. This episodes torture pick was chosen by Jesse with the intended victim of the pick, Josh. This torture pick we're watching La La Land.

We're not just going to limit Torture Picks to the two hosts. This is a format that we thought we'd...

Walk Among Us (The Phantom)
#238
07/15/2025

If you want to strike fear into the heart of the jungle's criminal underbelly, you wear Purple. The Phantom is a superhero movie based on a property that predates even Superman. So with all those years of material to pull from surely Billy Zane and company could pull out something special here.

But before we talk about that there are a few trailers that have caught our attention. This week we're talking, Red Sonja, Trouble Man, and Bambi the Reckoning.

Then it's onto the main event where we'll let you know if The Phantom is...

As The World Turns... Backwards (Superman and Superman II)
#237
07/08/2025

Wait. You mean to tell me that the same week that this episode is getting released a brand new Superman film is coming to theaters? We're completely surprised. We definitely weren't banking on people searching for Superman more and stumbling upon this podcast. Well if you're new welcome to the podcast where we will only talk action and horror, and determine FOR YOU whether or not each movie is... A BLOODY GOOD FILM.

Before we can determine whether the first two Superman films are Bloody Good or not we had to breakdown our thoughts on the new...

Ever Loving Blue Chewed Thing ( Roger Corman's Fantastic Four)
#236
07/01/2025

We said we'd never do an MCU film but that doesn't mean we're gonna avoid the Marvel films before the big Marvel machine started pumping them out like clockwork. In fact this Fantastic Four wasn't even fully pumped out. Movie blue balls.

Before we can even talk Corman's Fantastic Four we have a few trailers that have caught our attention including The Strangers Chapter Two, The Witchboard remake, and Gun's Up

Then it's onto the main event as we talk Roger Corman's Fantastic Four. We'll answer the question... IS... Fantastic Four... A BLOODY GOOD FILM?

We encourage everyone to watch along while you listen and make sure to comment and let us know what you think. If you haven't already please follow us on Facebook, TikTok, "X" and...

Smiling Like A Killer (Top 10 Action and Horror Killers)
#234
06/17/2025

You wanted our King Kong episode didn't you? This is the second week in a row where we promised our Son of Kong and Kong Skull Island episode and didn't deliver. I get it. You're mad. Promises broken is never a good thing. Well... Too bad. The world is going to hell and we didn't have a chance to record that episode... Maybe next week. You'll have to tune back in and find out.

This week instead we are releasing a back up episode we recorded at the end of October of last year. So long ago...

Ghidorah Slayer's Doom (Invasion of Astro-Monster featuring Sarah Kitteringham of the band Smoulder)
#233
06/10/2025

You thought we were supposed to post about Son of Kong and Kong: Skull Island... Well that's your bad for assuming that we mean the things that we say. That's the episode that you can expect next week. This week we're going bigger than that. We're talking Invasion of Astro-Monster and we have a very special guest. Joining us this week, the singer of the Epic Doom Metal band Smoulder; we have Sarah Kitteringham!

Before we can talk the likes of Godzilla, Rodan, and Ghidorah there are a few trailers that caught our attenion. We'll break down...

That Wagon You're Dragon (Reign of Fire)
#232
06/03/2025

It's the first episode of KAIJune! this is the month where we talk all things Kaiju and Kaiju adjacent. This movie is Kaiju adjacent since we're talking giant fire breathing dragons with Reign of Fire!

Drop This Like a Bad Hobbit (The Lord of the Rings: The Two Towers and The Return of the King)
#231
05/27/2025

Finally we meet at the end of all of this. We have finally finished the Lord of the Rings trilogy. Some were lost along the way. We're unsure if Josh has survived the trauma inflicted upon him for this episode. After the recording there were reports that he ran away into the woods to get as far away from any copies of these movies as he could.

So yeah... We invited Richard back to talk Lord of the Rings and by the end of this episode we'll answer the easiest question ever asked... Are the Lord of...

Leatherface Jr (The Texas Chainsaw Massacre)
#230
05/20/2025

Over two hundred episodes and we haven't talked the original Texas Chainsaw Massacre? Well of course. You've heard the show. We're unqualified dummies. We couldn't cover something as complex as The Texas Chainsaw Massacre on our own. Luckily a friend of ours has a 10 year old that's smarter than the two of us combined and she's gonna school us AND the audience on everything Texas Chainsaw Massacre! We welcome Chloe to the show!

Before that we have a few trailers to talk, The Conjure Last Rites, and The Long Walk

After that it's onto the m...

Bored of the Rings (The Hobbit 1977 and The Lord of the Rings: The Fellowship of the Rings)
#229
05/13/2025

It finally happened. Josh put it off for as many years as he could but time caught up to him and held at gunpoint he finally put Lord of the Rings up on the schedule. Of course him and Jesse are too dumb to take on a series of this magnitude alone, so they brought in someone who sounds scholarly, Richard Gilliver to come on and talk about them with them.

For this episode they're talking 1977's The Hobbit animated movie, and the first movie in the Lord of the Rings Trilogy, The Fellowship of the Ring.<...

James Bond: A New Hope (Moonraker)
#228
05/06/2025

We've covered all the Star Wars films... Well all the theatrical ones and for some reason the Star Wars Holiday Special but we haven't covered all the movies that Star Wars inspired. In the 70s when fans had last seen James Bond it was said that he would return in "Four Your Eyes Only." Well viewers eyes didn't get to see that one for a while, because after the success of Star Wars the franchise pivoted into Moonraker! A movie that is 75% James Bond but with an exciting Star Wars finale!

Before we can get into that...

Bark At The Moon (The Wolf Man and Wolf Man)
#227
04/29/2025

We talked vampires this month, we talked invisible dudes, but this week we're talking some hairier pictures. This week we talk the 1941 film The Wolf Man and the 2025 Wolf Man... Which is kinda a remake... or at least it's a reimagining of the concept.

Before that though there were a couple new trailers that we couldn't wait for a single episode to talk about. We're airing out all our thoughts on the new I Know What You Did Last Summer trailer, as well as the new Predator Badlands.

Then it's onto the main features where...

There Can Only Be Two As One (Sorceress)
#226
04/22/2025

We haven't done nearly enough Sword and Sorcery films on the Bloody Good Film Podcast... Actually thinking back on it, I don't think we've done a single one. Well that's changed since a very special guest chose Sorceress for this very special episode, an episode so special that we told our guest to take a hike and come back another day while us regular hosts talked about Sorceress ourselves.

Before we talk Sorceress though we had a few trailers that caught our attentions; a Breed Apart, Dangerous Animals, and Fantastic Four First Steps.

After those...

You Can't See Me! (The Invisible Man 1933 Original v 2020 Remake)
#225
04/15/2025

In honor of John Cena's upcoming Wrestlemania main event, the Bloody Good Film Podcast has decided to cover one of his favorite films... The Invisible Man. We are comparing the 1933 original with the 2020 Leigh Whannell remake.

Join us as we discuss the technical marvels of making someone be invisible in the 1930s, and one of the original scream queens. We also compare the light hearted pranks and mental breakdown of the original with the gaslighting and relationship from hell of the 2020 film.

Most importantly we give you the answer to...

Fight of the Bumblebee (The Beekeeper)
#224
04/08/2025

Josh spent all this time writing a beautifully crafted, eloquent synopsis for you all...

However Jesse accidentally deleted it so now you get this...

Join us this week as we are joined by our buddy Kenneth Leonard to talk Jason Statham as The Beekeper.

Bee there and find out if The Beekeeper is a bloody good film!

We encourage everyone to watch along while you listen and make sure to comment and let us know what you think. If y...

Nosfera 2: The Suckling (Nosferatu Original vs Remake)
#223
04/01/2025

You wouldn't think that a silent film would give a podcast a lot to talk about. In fact we tried a run of this episode where we were just gesticulating in front of our nice for over an hour. You know? Really capture the essence that is 1922's Nosferatu.

Upon the edit though Jesse thought it wasn't dynamic enough. So instead we're bringing you our "talkey" episode comparing the silent original vs Robert Eggers' recent remake.

By the end of this episode we'll have answered the question... ARE... Nosferatu and it's 2024 remake... BLOODY GOOD FILMS!?

...

Everyone Remembers Their First Purge (The First Purge)
#222
03/25/2025

It had to happen sooner or later... we Purged Jesse. So this week it's just Josh and Kelly talking The First Purge, and they're definitely unleashing the beast!

Before that they have a few trailers that caught their attention. They talk Big Freaking Rat, The Toxic Avenger, and together.

After that they talk The First Purge and answer whether or not it's... A BLOODY GOOD FILM!

We encourage everyone to watch along while you listen and make sure to comment and let us know what you think. If you haven't a...

03/18/2025

We're the only podcast with the balls to return to the ballsiest franchise in horror history in only a few weeks. We already covered the first two that are considered to be horror classics... but what about 3 and 4? How do those compare? We'll you're about to find out.

By the end of this episode you will have the question answered that you've always wanted to know... are Phantasm III: Lord of the Dead and Phantasm IV: Oblivion... BLOODY GOOD FILMS!?

We encourage everyone to watch along while you listen and make sure to comment and...

Once You Pop The Fun WILL Stop (The Seventh Curse)
#220
03/11/2025

Well we teased some awesome guests on this episode, well it turns out they teased us harder. But luckily we were able to overcome our disappointment with the wild movie The Seventh Curse. Most movies might settle for the first or second curse but this is a movie that takes it all the way up to seven.

Before we talk The Seventh Curse there are a few trailers that have caught our attention, as we talk The Surfer, Bullet Trail Explosion, and Locked.

From then on we talk The Seventh Curse and answer the question... I...
