The Lads pre-season schedule is done, and it's on to the real stuff this time next week. A positive victory over Rennes ended the summer campaign, and we got the news that the club had agreed a fee for Toulouse left-back Dayann Methalie at half-time. Brilliant!

Sunderland's pre-season rolled on with a comfortable 2-0 win over RC Lens in France, and the season is now just two weeks away from getting underway.

Sunderland's USA tour ended with a positive 1-0 win over Wrexham in Philadelphia on Sunday, and now all eyes are on the start of the new season as we enter the month of August.

Ultimately, a point does little for our European hopes, but there was plenty to be positive about as the Lads got back to the form that saw us do so well in the first half of the season.
