Argylle asks the audience an insane question: what if your books about spies could predict the future, so you got kidnapped to write more books about spies before anyone else read them? Argylle, starring Henry Cavill and Bryce Dallas Howard, is a movie about a spy fiction writer who strangely predicts actual events happening in the spy world through her books. Alright, we've had it too good with movies. It's time to watch Snake on a Plane. The infamous 2006 movie starring Samuel L. Jackson and featuring a lot of CGI snakes. It was one of the first movies edited after the fact to appease what audiences wanted out of the movie. In reality, it may have made the film a lot better! But is it a good movie, or did it deserve the middling response it received at the box office?

Ages ago, we were suggested to watch Head, the movie about the hit 60s band The Monkees. What a trippy little movie this is. We learned a lot about what it must have been like to try to become a respectable adult band after being in a band for children. It's a cheeky movie with Jack Nicholson helping make it. Is this trippy movie, for 60s standards, any good?

Who is Robbie Williams, besides a monkey (chimp) who does drugs, drinks and sings? Well he made one of the biggest financial flops of 2024 and we decided to watch it. Maybe it's because no one on this pond knows who Robbie Williams is, but this movie is the biopic snubbed for an Oscar. We follow a musician who left a boy band, Take That (5), and tried to be successful on his own. But it wasn't easy getting there. Plus his relationship with his father and grandma went through the ringer.

Women's History Month continues (?!) with Sophie's Choice. A (totally) real person who escaped the horror of the holocaust and now has to deal with one toxic man and one dopey man, while simultaneously navigating the English language. Meryl Streep won an Oscar for this portrayal, but how does the rest of this classic movie stand up? We all know the phrase "Sophie's Choice", but is the movie it came from any good?

Well it has guns, Graceland, mom issues, control issues, boundary issues, drug issues. Huh, it seems like this relationship may be doomed. This quiet, meditative film on such a big personality speaks volumes of what it would be like to be in a romantic relationship with Elvis.

Women's History Month continues with Spencer and a special guest, Lindsay! Lindsay is an expert on all things related to the royal monarchy and teaches these two knuckleheads (mostly Ethan) a thing or two about what Princess Diana was going through when she lived with the royal family. The royal family is different from British aristocrats, if you didn't know! This is from the same director as Jackie, Pablo Larraín and follows a similar dream-like quality.

Happy Women's History Month! We watched Jackie in honor of it and will be watching other movies with powerful women with one-name titles throughout the month. But this movie stars Natalie Portman as Jackie Kennedy during the worst moments of her life, the JFK assassination. It shines a light on how absolutely awful it is to lose your husband and how it's even more horrific if he's the president of the United States.

Now that we've seen (basically) all of the Oscar-nominated best picture movies, it's time to talk about our predictions and rank our favorites! It was a weird year. Maybe one of the most controversial Oscars in years.
