To fish or to hunt? THAT is the question, and your answer’s going to switch, depending on which day you wanna get outdoors. The guys went off on this next round of CRAZY weather before settling down and talking about what’s been going on in the woods and water.

In other news, Ed Malin, long-time part of the OS Family, was celebrating a birthday today, so the guys told some Malin Tales and had a lot of fun at his expense.

Capt. Kevin was back from his various OSR exploits, sitting pretty in the studio for this episode, talking about what USED TO BE the best month of the year. Unfortunately for First Coast anglers, April has become one of the worst.  Will that hold true this year?  Capt. Kevin and the Unusual Suspects talk about what’s happening and what they hope to have happen during all those April showers…

The guys were live from Hagan Ace in Mandarin for this episode, and they were having all kinds of fun! If you’re looking for a fun listen, this is the episode for you – Jeff Foxworthy joined the guys and had everyone in stitches! Between the laughter, he talked about all kinds of hunting and land management stuff…and even managed to nail the GemLux Trivia Question!

If that wasn’t enough, legendary outdoor artist Guy Harvey called in as well! He talked about the history of the Guy Harvey brand, and revealed several things people probably don’t kn...

You read it right: First Coast waters are warming up just like every angler was counting on, but that wind just refuses to let up.  So how did that affect the fishing? Capt. Kevin and Capt. Chip talked about it from the front porch of GA HQ (Faver Farms), and the rest of the Unusual Suspects checked in with reports of their own.

With March being what March usually is weather-wise, Capt. Kevin called in the Unusual Suspects to  talk about the wild wahoo season and how the weather affected things everywhere. Get the scoop and find out what Mother Nature has in store for us coming up.

Jeff was out of pocket once again to do some OSR, so Capt. Kirk and Capt. Kevin welcomed Capt. Chip Wingo back into the studio for this episode.  As you know, when you get three charter captains together, there’s gonna be A LOT of fishing talk…and this episode didn’t disappoint!

Capt. Kevin was back in the chair for this week’s episode, and there was a lot to talk about. After a cast of thousands (maybe…not sure on the math) took on the El Cheapo, Capt. Kevin and the Unusual Suspects talked about the tournament and the weather that went along with it. They also talked about what’s happening now all over the First Coast, and what you can expect from Mother Nature in the coming week.

Capt. Kirk and Jeff resumed their annual El Cheapo Showdown this week, so Capt. Kevin called on a couple of the Unusual Suspects – Capt. Chip Wingo and Capt. Leon Dana – to climb aboard for this episode.

As you would guess, the talk was all about fishing…but boy, was it fun!

Capt. Kevin was off to celebrate his 60th birthday, so it was up to Capt. Chip Wingo to wrangle the Unusual Suspects and get reports from all over the First Coast and the last info dump heading into the El Cheapo. Lots of good reports and stories, of course…but what about the weather? Well, you’ll have to listen in to find out.

This episode quickly proved to be a crazy one. The guys were coming off a troubling week: Jeff checked in from home – he was sick, and his wife Tera was getting over a serious fight with a bad oyster. Kevin was battling pump issues, Kirk was dealing with a downed freezer.  But there was silver lining in it all: with Jeff out, he asked Rick Hall to come in and swap stories, which is always fun. Whenever Rick comes in, you can bet there’s going to be hunting talk, and he did not disappoint.

Jeff headed north to South Carolina for some OSR, which opened up a chair for a special guest – shark angler Alberto Vanegas! Capt. Kevin and Capt. Kirk grilled Alberto about his latest exploits, including catch great white sharks on the shores of the Atlantic and the Gulf of America!  The stories you’ll hear are simply amazing.

The conversation inevitably led to sheepshead fishing stories, including Kirk’s infamous “Dixie Cup” tale…this one alone is worth the listen!

Alexis Kidd from Community Hospice and Palliative Care also checked in to talk about their connection to the upcoming Walter “Chuck” Foster Sporting Clay Shoot. It’s a great organization doing great things and getting help from a great event!

Yep, the First Coast Winter Bluster-palooza continued this week, but for those brave enough to get out there, the fishing wasn’t bad at all! Capt. Kevin talked about it with the Unusual Suspects, and introduced the newest member of the crew, Capt. Rob Robbins! He’s THE pro between the Buckman and Green Cove Springs, so get ready for great insight into part of the best fishery on the East Coast!

The guys were back in studio (and they brought Capt. Leon Dana along, too), and the top thing on their mind was the bottom number on that temp chart – YIKES!

They took a break from the chilly chatter to listen to Capt. Kirk’s fantastic deer hunting story…you don’t want to miss the interesting turn it took. In fact, the show was LOADED with all kinds of great stories – perfect when you’re curled up to keep warm on during a winter cold snap.

Well, in case you didn’t notice…it’s officially January. Although everybody’s teeth are chattering, Capt. Kevin and the Unusual Suspects are actually feeling pretty good about fishing over the next few days.  So bundle up, get tough, and get ready to catch some nice ones!

Jeff was out on OSR this week, so Capt. Kevin and Capt. Kirk got things going themselves this episode.  But they didn’t end it that way – Capt. Paul Dozier joined them to talk a whole lot of fishing, including kingfishing (what else would the mastermind of the Old School talk about?) and naturally progressing into some really cool trolling talk.

They were talking offshore, and of course, when anybody talks about going offshore, the conversation shifts to sharks. Quite the interesting discussion ensued about how many are out there…and how much protection they really need.

Capt. Kevin and the Unusual Suspects were back after a two-week, holiday-induced hiatus. So, as you can imagine, they had a lot of catching up to do about…catching fish!  Get the latest updates, along with the latest forecast, in this welcome back episode.

Capt. Kevin was off on some New Year’s OSR, but he checked in via the wonders of modern technology…to find Tru Luvin Fishing’s Domenic Paniccia sitting in his chair at the studio!  As you can imagine, lots of fun and fishing talk ensued.

Capt. Kirk shared the audio of a pack of yotes going BONKERS on his property…and why? Because something was in there with them, and one of those seems to have met an untimely end thanks to the beast that growls at the end of the clip. What was it – a bear? panth...

The boys were back after some yuletide cheer to talk about the fun of the holidays and what was next up on the outdoors agenda. They got Capt. Kirk to talk about the INSANE haul he brought in the day before – lots of sheepshead and some of the biggest trout any of them had ever seen!

The conversation bounced around all over the place between fishing, hunting, sting ray barbs, Christmas gift ideas, Christmas movies and TV specials, lines from Star Wars (?!?)…no joke – this episode BOUNCED.

It’s the most wonderful time of the year for everyone, and thanks to the great weather, even the fish were getting into it! Capt. Kevin and the Unusual Suspects talked about it for the whole show…and talked about how good it may be.  Tune in to find out just how good it’s going to be!

The boys were broadcasting live from Standard Feed & Seed for the Holiday Ho-Ho-Hoedown to spread some Christmas cheer, collect toys for Operation Santa’s Heroes, and take part in all the festivities. The talk went all kinds of sideways pretty much from the start, as is the case anytime the boys are on location. Lots of great stories and fun stuff…100% must-listen!!

Sometimes, you just gotta sit back and revel in what Mother Nature drops in your lap.  Capt. Kevin and the Unusual Suspects couldn’t stop talking about how great the weather was…and how great it’s going to continue to be in the coming week.  Listen in to find out just how good it’s gonna get!

Doug, one of our callers, asked a question about fishing frustrations…and boy, did the fur fly after that one! You’ll have to listen in and take some notes to keep track of all things that can get under an angler’s skin! What’s your biggest pet peeve?

What do you think of when you think November? Deer hunting. Football. Thanksgiving, of course. But what about TEMPS IN THE 80s???? Amazing how the unseasonably high temperatures change the conversation about everything outdoors.

All kinds of chatter and stories about deer, the good stuff happening in the water, and the talk even went a little sideways about Shahid Khan’s 400-ft, $360M super-yacht Kismet.

With Capt. Kevin in No-Man’s-Land Georgia this week, Capt. Chip Wingo swung by the studio for this episode. Didn’t take but a minute to get into some chatter with the Unusual Suspects – Capt. Ricky Poupore, Capt. Leon Dana and Capt. Cory Sparks, specifically – about how things were going with the warm weather trend.

It was a huge morning with all kinds of guests, gear experts, vendors and of course…lots of great outdoors stories.
