After a few weeks away, Capt. Kevin made his triumphant return to the Fishing Forecast show, and what do you think he did? You know what he did: he had the Unusual Suspects check in with their reports, of course!  Couple that with talk about the weather on the way, and you get some fun chatter and a great glimpse into what lies ahead for you on the water.

With Kevin doing OSR in Georgia (and checking in with his fancy new technology), Domenic Paniccia sat in with Capt. Kirk and Jeff for this post-Thanksgiving episode.

Doug, one of our callers, asked a question about fishing frustrations…and boy, did the fur fly after that one! You’ll have to listen in and take some notes to keep track of all things that can get under an angler’s skin! What’s your biggest pet peeve?

What do you think of when you think November? Deer hunting. Football. Thanksgiving, of course. But what about TEMPS IN THE 80s???? Amazing how the unseasonably high temperatures change the conversation about everything outdoors.

All kinds of chatter and stories about deer, the good stuff happening in the water, and the talk even went a little sideways about Shahid Khan’s 400-ft, $360M super-yacht Kismet.

With Capt. Kevin in No-Man’s-Land Georgia this week, Capt. Chip Wingo swung by the studio for this episode. Didn’t take but a minute to get into some chatter with the Unusual Suspects – Capt. Ricky Poupore, Capt. Leon Dana and Capt. Cory Sparks, specifically – about how things were going with the warm weather trend.

The guys were LIVE from Hagan Ace/Hagan Coastal Outfitters in Callahan to officially kick off the holiday season! It was a huge morning with all kinds of guests, gear experts, vendors and of course…lots of great outdoors stories. Great to be there live, of course, for all the big giveaways and sales, but the episode is also a great listen!

Capt. Kevin was out on an OSR assignment, so he turned things over Capt. Chip Wingo and Capt. Leon Dana to talk about everything happening in First Coast waters…and to get us ready for the coming week’s weather. As Capt. Leon says, “it’s November – you’d better take what you can get!”

Jeff made his triumphant return to the studio this week, and Tru Luvin Fishing’s Domenic Paniccia stopped by to sit in as well! Yep, it was a full house, and everybody was talking about the amazing week that was.

They paused, however, to pass along a BIG warning about the change coming – a nasty cold front is on the way, and it’s set to make things very dangerous late Sunday.

Capt. Kevin hit the mic on this episode, and you don’t have to listen too close to tell that he was smilin’. If you’ve been out lately, you know why: not counting the pesky time change or the no-see-ums, it’s been a great week of fishing. He said it and the Unusual Suspects echoed it. Now, you just have to listen in to find out HOW good it was…and if the weather’s gonna give us another good week.

Jeff had to hit the road first thing to cover his Jaguar duties (thank you, Florida/Georgia) so he asked Tru Luvin’ Fishing’s Domenic Paniccia to join Capt. Kevin and Capt. Kirk for this episode.

As it probably has been the case for you, the guys couldn’t help talking about the weather and how water temps have dropped off. Same goes for the air temps…and what about that wind?

There’s nothing quite like fall on the First Coast, and finally…HERE WE ARE! The best part for the guys? DEER SEASON!!!!

Since Jeff was out doing some big-time OSR in Georgia (just wait for the story…), Capt. Kevin and Capt. Kirk had the chance to fill the empty chair with a good friend and a local legend: Capt. Larry Miniard! Capt. Larry sparked a conversation about how great the fishing has been locally for the past several days, and the boys chimed in with stories of their own.

You read the title correctly – Capt. Kevin, along with Capt. Chip, handled the episode from Middle-of-Nowhere Georgia. In case you don’t do the hunting thing, it’s deer season.  But that doesn’t mean they couldn’t talk fishing!

They talked about the great week everyone’s been having, and they were joined by Capt. Leon and Capt. Ricky, too. LOTS of good stuff to talk about.  As for the forecast, you’ll need to listen in to find out just how good that’s gonna be.

Capt. Kevin and Capt. Kirk saddled up in the new studio this morning, and Jeff checked in…from London! Yes, the Jags are doing their European thing, and Jeff was with them, but he didn’t neglect his OS duties!

It’s been a better week for fishing, and there was plenty to talk about with the Full of Bull Tournament happening. But the guys couldn’t help but be focused in on the woods – it was the first day of gun in Georgia!  Yep, the bullets were flying while the guys were chatting.

THAT’S RIGHT!!!! Finally, we got ourselves a great week of weather to go fishing! Capt. Kevin was fired up about it, and so were a couple of the Unusual Suspects. Get the story on what Capt. The guys rolled into the brand new studios for this episode, but instead of digging the new digs, they were focused on the HORRIBLE weather. Not much to talk about on the fishing front, but still plenty to chatter about in the great outdoors.

No, the guys aren’t picketing outside the studio. On this episode they shared some shocking stories about near misses with lightning coming out of the tragic story about the two men killed by lightning in Colorado recently.  Forget Halloween…this is some really scary stuff.

Speaking of scary, nothing will put the fear in you like a run-in with a bear. The guys talked quite about bears, how many there are, and how some groups are trying to stop hunters from managing the population.  That’s probably the scariest part!

According to the calendar, it’s late September. So why is it feeling like July?!?!?!? Yeah, the weather’s been crazy, and Capt. Kevin talks about it quite a bit this episode with the Unusual Suspects. But how has affected fishing around the First Coast, and what’s in store for us this coming week?

The guys welcomed in author Monte Burke to talk about his latest book, Rivers Always Reach The Sea. It’s a collection of thirty-one essays, stories and profiles about Lefty Kreh, Andy Mills, and the pursuit of tarpon, bass, trout and everything in between when it comes to fly fishing.

Capt. Kevin was pleased as punch to report that the thermocline/upwelling – whatever you call it – is past, along with it’s ice cold grip on the water all over the First Coast. So the temps went up, clarity improved dramatically, and the fishing…well, the fishing didn’t change a bit.

Finally, it wouldn’t...

As you know, Capt. Kevin’s made it pretty clear over the past several weeks that we went from an incredible May to an amazing June…and then it got bad.  Well, now it seems like it may be going from bad to worse. Mother Nature is just not a very friendly lady these days, and the Unusual Suspects were picking up what Capt. Kevin was putting down.

But, is there light at the end of the tunnel? Is there hope?  Listen in to find out.
