We Hate Movies
Since 2010, the We Hate Movies podcast has been loudly celebrating and tearing apart movies from across the spectrum: from forgotten '80s actioners and insane romantic comedies of the '90s, to the early CGI blockbusters of the aughts and the hyper-nostalgic franchises of the 2010s and today. Every week, comedians Andrew Jupin, Stephen Sajdak, Eric Szyszka, and Chris Cabin pick a movie from the near-past to discuss and joke around about in all its positive and negative glory.

On this special patrons-only WHM, we’re chatting about the outrageous JCVD Die Hard knock-off, Sudden Death!
Where does this movie fall quality-wise in the JCVD filmography? In what world would the Vice President of the United States attend a professional hockey final? Was that whole opening scene actually supposed to be a monol...

Touch of Evil (1958, W❤️M)
“This whole tracking shot is brilliant, it’s a super-flex” - Eric
On this episode, we’re kicking off We ❤️ Movies month with a chat about the total banger that is Orson Welles’s Touch of Evil!
How absolutely off-putting is Captain Hank Quinlan in this movie? Is the opening tracking shot one of the most impressive feats in all of Old Hollywood? Wow, talk about bad luck with Janet Leigh and scuzzy, roadside motels, huh? And what on Earth was Quinlan thinking with that gross chili analogy? PLUS: Charlton Heston’s Mike Vargas purchases one product too m...
Leprechaun: Back 2 Tha' Hood (2003)
“We’re going back to the Hood with a significantly smaller budget!” - Andrew

Why does the movie wait a full 30 minutes to really get the Leprechaun action going? Why are they bothering with this storybook device at the start? Is the cold open actually the end of a better Leprechaun movie? Is Laz Alonso the...

“This is an ‘I Got It By the Way’ situation” - Steve
The 2026 Halloween Spooktacular continues this week as we’re chatting about the better-than-the-original sequel, Child’s Play 2!
How hilarious is it that this toy company insists on rebuilding the cursed doll to calm their shareholders? Why do these foster parents have so much terrifying clown stuff and breakable antiques in their home? Does Chucky have the strength of a man or the strength of a cursed doll? How much funnier is this one than the first? And has our society hidden a bygone era from us, w...

On this week’s episode, the 2026 Halloween Spooktacular is just getting warmed up as we break down one of our all-time slasher faves, Friday the 13th Part VI: Jason Lives!
How hilarious is this cold open with Tommy Jarvis and Horshack from Welcome Back Kotter? Is there another stunt in this franchise that comes close to the awesome RV flip in this movie? Is this the funniest Friday the 13th script? Has there been a better pop song used in these movies than Alice Cooper’s “He’s Back (The...

On the fall premiere of On-Screen Live, we're breaking down a great number of films we caught at this year's New York Film Festival!
The NYFF64 lineup is a great place to turn when clocking what good-to-great films are coming down the pike toward the end of this year, or into early next. On this episode, we're giving our thoughts on films like James Gray's masterful, '80s-set, New Yawk crime drama, Paper Tiger; the documentary that's rocking the film world and beyond, a jarring non-fiction title that is meeting the moment, NAZA; Werner Herzog's funny, sweet, o...
The Frighteners (1996)
“I’ve seen this movie dozens of times” - Andrew
On this week’s episode, we’re kicking off the 2026 Halloween Spooktacular in grand fashion as we go long on Peter Jackson’s super-fun, paranormal comedy, The Frighteners!
Should they have tried to nail down a set of ghost rules for our spooky characters? Couldn’t Universal have waited and released this banger in October, instead of the summer, especially when Peter Jackson & Co. hadn’t finished the special effects?! How fantastic is Michael J. Fox leading this movie? Should the studio have let Jackson go even wilder w...
Street Fighter: The Legend of Chun-Li (2009)
“Unfortunately, they forgot to make this a movie…” - Eric
On this week’s show, we’re chatting about the total misfire that is Street Fighter: The Legend of Chun-Li!
Holy smokes, what were they thinking here? What in the world with this narration? Why was the late, great Michael Clarke Duncan the only actor who understood the assignment here? Was the Chris Klein performance one of the inspirations for Tim Heidecker’s classic ‘Decker’ character? And why the heck did they make M. Bison an Irish guy? PLUS: Do you have to take Pokémons to the vet?<...

“They’re making sure you got every dumb detail of that first movie” - Andrew on the opening flashback
On this week’s show, we’re chatting about the second entry in the massively successful sci-fi horror franchise, Resident Evil: Apocalypse!
How janky is the CGI on those Licker monsters in the church? How hard is it to say ‘Raccoon City’ with a straight face? Shouldn’t the Raccoon City News be hosted by cute, little raccoons? How many people remembered the story from the first game? And could Nemesis have pulled it off working for MI6? PLUS: Th...

Is the public opinion on this movie one of the biggest 180s in horror history? How incredible is Tom Atkins, and his mustache, in this? Why would you bring sexy lingerie on a trip to uncover why your father was murdered? How about that...

Recorded Live at the Den Theatre in Chicago, IL, 22 March, 2026
“Way too much oral stuff in this movie!” - Eric
On this week’s WHM Live episode, it’s our raucous show from Chicago where we were talking a blue streak about the beloved Tom Hanks comedy, Big!
How eerie is the third act of this movie? Shouldn’t Susan have been a bit more creeped out by Josh’s apartment? Is there a more terrifying sight than Robert Loggia being nice to people? How great would it be to have a 1980’s Jon Lovitz as a...

On this Summer Live episode, it’s our 15th Anniversary Show from the Bell House where we were in rare form chatting about the Arnold sci-fi classic, Total Recall!
How hilarious is Arnold as this vague construction guy? Was this movie the Ground Zero for that Arnold Soundboard craze? Why does the Recall office only have the single chair if they’re the latest craze in techno-tainment? Why did they let Arnold get the proc...

Spider-Man: Far From Home (2019)
“This felt like a season of a television show” - Steve
On the season sixteen finale of WHM, we’re bringing the Summer Blockbuster Extravaganza to a close with a talk about the kinda-good/kinda-not Homecoming follow-up, Spider-Man: Far From Home!
How boring are these Elemental villains? Did they really need to do the European Vacation trope? Should they have instead taken the story to Hollywood to have Spider-Man tangle with the actual Quentin Beck special F/X whiz guy from the comics? How great is Gyllenhaal here? Did the MCU ever really grapple with The Bli...
American Wedding (2003)
“Somebody pressed the More Stifler button too many times” - Steve
On the penultimate episode of the 2026 Summer Blockbuster Extravaganza, we’re going back for another serving of defiled dessert as we attempt to break down the sex-crazed sequel, American Wedding!
Why couldn’t the script bother to tell us what happened to the missing friends in the cast? And if folks are missing, why not give the MILF Guys some more to do? Would this movie have started stronger if we had a scroll or old man narrator to kick things off? Did Eugene Levy and...

Want your weird story read on the air? Have a hot f...

“Two hours and twelve minutes? You sunk my afternoon!” - Andrew
On this week’s episode, the Summer Blockbuster Extravaganza is on a one-way train to Stupid City as we welcome in Junkfood Cinema’s Brian Salisbury to help us try to make sense of the abhorrent board game adaptation, Battleship!
Why is it a full thirty minutes before you’re showing us aliens? Did the Halo creators have a suit with these mercenary outfits? Did the production have a dialect coach on set at all? Why did they decide to literally box Liam Neeson out of the...

On this special WHM Vault Unlock, we’re adding some Star Trek to the 2026 Summer Blockbuster Extravaganza with a lengthy discussion about the better-than-we-remembered 2009 reboot, Star Trek.

Is this outrageous geological event possible? Should DJ’s character take that helicopter for personal use? On this week’s show, we welcome back our buds and Animation Experts, Talking Simpsons’ Bob Mackey and Henry Gilbert to help us chat about our little yellow guys’ first solo outing, Minions!
How did these little guys come to exist before humanity? What were the Minions up to between 1933 and 1945? Why did we need to hear all these insufferable needle drops? Why couldn’t we have stayed longer on the Minions working for Dracula? Should they have done a Take Two on some of these Big Celebrity Voice Castings? And...

How is this dog still alive with all the doughnuts this old man is feeding him? Has there ever been a less-convincing hangover performance than what we see at the start of this movie? Wait, this dog was shot five times in the line of duty? How hilarious is that guy’s freakout during the scene at the Mexican border? And how in the world is there this much w...

This week on the program, we’re kicking off the 2026 Summer Blockbuster Extravaganza by talking about the toy/cartoon adaptation that was anything but a blockbuster, 1987’s Masters of the Universe!
Could this Billy Barty character have been designed to look any more disgusting? Why did they insist on dragging James Tolkan through almost every scene of the movie? Is the Courteney Cox character actually trying to live out a Bruce Springsteen song? And why in the world is He-Man barely in this...

Why didn’t they think to have any classroom scenes in this film school-set movie? How hilarious is the kidney-bathtub sequence that’s completely on an island from the rest of the film? What kind of funding does this film school have, what with all these soundstages? Why exactly does Hart Bochner’s character think this scheme will lead to his Hollywood breakthrough? And what would an Urban Legend sequel loo...
