# 477 Simple Obedience

Simple Obedience
This week’s word, Simple Obedience, was sent in by Robyn. Obedience is one of those words that can sound harsh and demanding, depending on your upbringing and life experiences. Yet, with God, simple obedience is much more than merely obeying.

# 476 Walk

Walk
This week’s word, walk, was sent in by Rebekah. Walking by faith means trusting God beyond what we see from our perspective, obeying without fully understanding, and moving forward with confidence because His desires for us always exceed our own desires for ourselves. It is surrendering control, persevering through uncertainty, and relying on His strength, not our own.

# 475 Exchange

Exchange
This week’s word, exchange, was sent in by Jennie. Normally, when we think of an exchange, it is the version described in most dictionaries; “an act of giving one thing and receiving another (especially of the same type or value) in return.” But it should come as no surprise, that in God’s kingdom, everything is turned upside down. What Jesus offers us in this great exchange is not something of equal value. He is taking our filthy rags, and giving us royal robes. Even better, he is taking our death sentence, and giving us freedom...
#474 Ready

Ready
The word ready was sent in by Paige. Readiness isn’t passive—it’s an active, faith-filled response to God’s call. As faith filled believers, we are supposed to live our lives in a perpetual state of readiness. Ready for what God has in the present moment; what he is speaking and how he wants to release his kingdom on Earth through you. Lastly, we are to be like the five wise virgins who kept their lamps trimmed and filled with oil, ready for when the bridegroom returns.

# 472 Generosity

Generosity
I tend to pay attention when things repeat themselves. Perhaps it is coincidence, or perhaps it is God trying to get my attention. This week’s word was sent in by two different people, Tamika and Becky, and the word is generosity. Let’s explore together the refreshing that can come from generosity this week.

#471 Be Still

Be Still
This word is from a dear friend who I have the privilege of personal training. It is a joy to be able to work together with her on her physical body, talking about spiritual things at the same time. She had mentioned her word for this year is "be still"; allowing her heart to be still, especially in the areas we cannot control. Trusting God with our hearts, and our lives.Â

#470 Joy

Joy
This is not manufactured happiness, instead this is the joy that comes from abiding in Christ. It is only in the presence of God we find fulness of joy. Not only are we filled with His joy, He himself is filled with joy over us! When Jesus endured the cross for the joy set before him, within that joy was your face. He loves you and rejoices over you with gladness!

#469 Gentleness

Gentleness
Gentleness or meekness is the opposite of self-assertiveness and self-interest. It stems from trust in God's goodness and control over the situation. The gentle person is not occupied with self at all. This is a work of the Holy Spirit, not of the human will. Not just towards others but also towards myself.

#468 Hâlal

Hâlal
The word halal is probably one of my favourite words for praise. It means to boast, celebrate, rave, shine, or be clamorously foolish! God has created us to live fully alive and to have his abundant life flowing through us. The meaning of the word halal reflects this. As we have seen through each of the words for praise, this one too points to praise having a physical expression.Â

#467 Zâmar

Zâmar
Welcome to week 8 of our series on Worship.
There is a song within you that no one else can sing as an offering of praise to the Lord. Zâmar means to make music, to celebrate in song, to pluck the strings of a musical instrument. We are called to praise with song and with music. This is a powerful expression of praise, and it is mentioned often in scripture.

#466 Bârak

Bârak
Bârak means to kneel, salute, or thank. To Bârak is to come and bless God with an act of adoration; the idea being to bow down before Him. This physical position is a very powerful one. To bow before God reminds me that He is God and I am not. He is the one who created me, originally from the dirt. It is an honor and a privilege to Bârak in the presence of my creator.

#465 Tehillâh

Tehillâh
Tehillâh means to sing a song of praise, a new song, or a spontaneous song. A biblical way to worship God is through song. Not a song someone else has written for you to sing; an original song that comes from your heart. Psalm 22:3 tells us this is the only kind of praise that God inhabits! When we sing to him our song, He is present to us.

#464 Tôwdâh

Tôwdâh
TĂ´wdâh means to make a sacrifice of praise, or a sacrifice of thanksgiving. Similar to Yadah, it also means to extend your hands. In the Psalms it appears in a way of thanking God for things you have not yet received, as well as things you have. It is a confession of God’s goodness, offering Him thanks.Â

#463 Shâbach

Â
Shâbach
This is our second week exploring the seven Hebrew words for paise in the Old Testament. Last week we looked at the idea of raising our hands in praise to God. This week we're meditating on the word Shâbach, which means to raise our voices; to shout praises to God.
There is something to be said about allowing ourselves to enter into the physical expression of praise that God is inviting us into. It is powerful. If we are to worship God with all of our heart, mind, soul and str...
#462 Yâdâh

Â
Yâdâh
In the Hebrew there are seven different words that are translated to the word “praise” in English. We are taking the next 7 weeks to meditate on each one of these different words. Understanding each of these will help expand our ability to praise God, entering into His presence; the place where we worship Him.
The first word we are looking at is Yâdâh. It means to extend your hands, throw a stone, or shoot an arrow. The shooting out, or lifting of the hands, especially in worship. It also mean...
#461 A Life of Worship

Â
A Life of Worship
Worship is so much more than singing songs on Sunday. Worship is our response to being in the presence of God, seeing Him for who He truly is, receiving His love and giving our love ion return.
This episode starts our new series on Worship; coming in to the awe of how great God is. What does it look like to worship the Lord with gladness? To enter His gates with thanksgiving, and His courts with praise.

Bible Verses and Notes
So hide all your beloved ones
in the sheltered, secret place before your face.
Overshadow them with your glory-presence.
Keep them from these accusations, the brutal insults of evil men.
Tuck them safely away in the tabernacle where you dwell.
