San Diego County's Health and Human Services agency said it detected elevated levels of hydrogen sulfide in the Nestor community. The average price of a gallon of regular gas in San Diego County is now $5.80, it's highest price since October 2023. Home sales rose significantly last month in San Diego County and statewide as slightly more favorable mortgage rates encouraged buyers to enter the market.

The Sheriff's Department worked through the night investigating a possible homicide in the Fallbrook area.
