Thoroughbred trainer Kenny McPeek has well over 2,000 victories at racetracks around world. His greatest weekend came on the first Friday and Saturday in May 2024, winning both the Kentucky Oaks (Thorpedo Anna) and the Kentucky Derby (Mystic Dan).

McPeek's Derby champ is set to retire to stud this weekend. Terry Meiners and Kenny McPeek discussed the horse's less-than-stellar ride in Arkansas that ultimately earned him access to the Derby. History was in the making.


Flags4Vets needs volunteers to place flags on the graves U.S. Military heroes

On Sunday, November 9 at 2 PM, volunteers are needed to place flags on military graves at Cave Hill Cemetery. The meeting spot is Breckenridge Elementary on Payne Street where a gate leads directly into Cave Hill.

Enough information has been released by the NTSB to confirm that the left wing engine detached on airport property and that the jet had been in a prolonged maintenance hold in San Antonio from early September into mid-October.

After a stellar career in Major League Baseball, umpire Tom Hallion still calls Louisville home. The native New Yorker moved to Kentucky during the Louisville Redbirds Triple A era, working games until he was called to the bigs.

He kept his Kentucky home and stopped by WHAS to talk about last night's 18 inning World Series instant classic game. He discussed the pressure encountered by umps working extra long games.Ā

Louisville businessman Denis Frankenberger brings receipts to illustrate why the city is needlessly sending $10.8 million annually to help fund the KFC Yum Center.

On its 15th birthday, we are told that only 5.3% of the principle of the Yum Center has been paid. Frankenberger says that under the current lease agreement with the University of Louisville, taxpayers will ultimately cough up a BILLION DOLLARS to pay off the arena.

The original construction costs were estimated to be approximately $275 million, with various bonding strategies sending the cost north of $400 million.
