Borderlands 4, Hollow Knight: Silksong, Kirby and the Forgotten Lands
#26

Borderlands 4 is here, and so is Mick to explain to Adam, Steve, and Lyle how great it is on this week's episode of the Loot Level Chill podcast.

Adam is a huge fan and can't wait to get stuck in to Borderlands 4, but Mick has played it for his review and the podcast is largely about that for a good chunk. How's the story; the mechanics; the performance? And also, why was review access PC only?

For those of you sick of hearing about Hollow Knight: Silksong, well, we're sorry, but this week's podcast contains...

Hell is Us, Hollow Knight: Silksong, Lost Soul Aside
#25
09/08/2025

This week we have a very, very special guest joining us to make the first 4-person pod in a while.

We'll let you listen to find out exactly who it is, but he, along with Mick and Adam, has been playing Hell is Us. We know we talked about the game in a preview/demo sense a few weeks ago, but a few of the gang have finished it now and are enamoured with how special it is when it comes to a few ideas. There's NO SPOILERS here, but it's a very hefty chat...

Shinobi, Skate, The Knightling
#24
09/01/2025

For some reason, this episode of the podcast ends up in tangent city, but we do try to talk about video games too.

Starting with a lengthy chat about Shinobi: Art of Vengeance, Adam and Lyle are in love with this one, from the art style to the cool combat, it's an actually brilliant comeback for the series.

Then things go a bit peculiar, and while we start to talk about lovely 2D action platform game The Knightling, somehow we get side-tracked and end up talking about Mr Blobby. Why not, I guess?

...

Battlefield 6, Drag x Drive, Hell is Us
#23
08/18/2025

Steve is back, but Adam and Lyle are also here to talk games with him for this new episode of the podcast.

As you might expect, a healthy amount of Battlefield 6 is talked about, with Steve having rushed excitedly back from holiday to play it, even squadding up with Adam to not revive one another. How are the maps? How's the gunplay? What about the classes? Let's find out in this deep(ish) dive.

Drag x Drive is out now, but Lyle and Adam have been playing that, and have lots of thoughts about accessibility...

Wuchang: Fallen Feathers, Dead Take, Dying Light 2
08/11/2025

Mick, Chris, and Adam are back and they've got chat!

Mick has been playing Wuchang: Fallen Feathers, while Chris and Adam have tried a little bit of it too. Is it the next great Soulslike? Find out.

Chris however, has been playing Dead Take and has everyone intrigued. Adam... has been playing Dying Light 2: Stay Human, because why not?

Listener question of the week is about under-rated games, so why not send yours, and be read out on the next episode!

Fretless, No Sleep for Kaname Date, Shadow Labyrinth
#21
07/28/2025

On this episode of the podcast it's just Adam and Lyle to chat about their RPGs, strange Japanese games, and Metroidvanias.

What that means in real terms, then, is that the chat starts about Fretless: The Wrath of Riffson, where we get two very different perspectives. Lyle isn't into music or music YouTubers, but Adam knows a fair bit about both. Moving on, Lyle recently reviewed the third game in the Somnium Files series: No Sleep For Kaname Date – From AI: THE SOMNIUM FILES, and Adam has also had a bit of a play of that, so it...

Tony Hawk's Pro Skater 3+4, Donkey Kong Bananza, Eriksholm
#20
07/21/2025

On this episode of the podcast, the team start by reminiscing about the old days thanks to Tony Hawk's Pro Skater 3 + 4.

What's new, what's old, and yes... what's missing? How does the soundtrack being so different affect things? And what if Steve actually started playing the wrong version of the game at first. Find out on this very podcast.

Mick had previously previewed Eriksholm: The Stolen Dream, but now he's finished it and reviewed it, and is still rather in love with it. Adam, however, is smashing the world to pieces thanks to Donkey Kong...

Hidden Gems of 2025 (So Far)
#19
07/07/2025

It's a quiet week, for a change, so on the podcast this episode it's time to shine a light on some hidden gems (so far) we've played in 2025.

We're not talking exclusively about indies, though most are smaller games, as we also want to remind people Capcom's Kunitsu-Gami: Path of the Goddess just came out on Switch 2 this year. But there's plenty of games to chat about, with the likes of Into the Restless Ruins one we want to sing the praises of.

Of course, Xbox is in the news, with lots of job losses...

Death Stranding 2: On the Beach
#18
06/30/2025

As you can imagine, on this episode of the podcast all anyone can talk about is Death Stranding 2: On the Beach.

We've assembled our reviewer (Chris White) along with Adam and Steve who have played the game, and Lyle who, curiously, has not. The gang have complicated relationships with both Kojima and the Strand-genre itself, but it seems so far everyone is pretty enamoured with Death Stranding 2.

All except Lyle, that is, who again, hasn't played it and is pretty confused as to what the hell is going on in this game.

If...

FBC: Firebreak, Rematch, Mina the Hollower
#17
06/23/2025

On this week’s episode of the podcast, the gang has all suddenly gotten heavily into multiplayer gaming, and it’s all on Game Pass.

Rematch is out, and Adam and Steve have been playing it during the early access release period. It’s captured them both in a big way, but both are rather worried about the way the updates and patches are being handled. FBC: Firebreak is also out, and like Rematch, does something quite different. It’s the Remedy Universe, and Control-specifically, but the entire team has been playing it, with Mick on review duties...

The Alters, Date Everything, Mindseye
#16
06/16/2025

We're back again for another podcast, this time to chat about the Mindseye debacle, but also some games we've actually played.

The Alters has captured Mick and Adam completely, with its mix of genres that adds a story you can't look away from. Elsewhere, Date Everything is a superb, fun, and witty experience. Lost in Random: The Eternal Die turned out well too, with "exemplary" gameplay, though like a few games at the moment, the team are worried about timing.

Question of the week is all about the rest of the year, and we try...

Summer Games Fest, The Nintendo Switch 2
#15
06/09/2025

We're a little later than usual to record a podcast for this episode as the world of gaming has been busy, thanks to a new console launch and a huge Summer event.

Rather than have a rundown of every "showcase" and conference we've seen, the team has decided to hand-pick some of its favourite reveals and trailers, and talk about them. Of course we'll mention the Xbox and Sony shows, as well as the main Summer Games Fest event.

Elsewhere, though, the same week all this news and these announcements was happening, Nintendo decided to...

Elden Ring Nightreign, Pipistrello and the Cursed Yoyo, Eriksholm: The Stolen Dream
#14
06/02/2025

On Loot Level Chat Podcast Episode 14 it's time to discuss a biggie in the form of Elden Ring Nightreign, but also to shine a line on two smaller games.

Both Lyle and Adam have been eagerly awaiting Pipistrello and the Cursed Yoyo, having played preview builds and demos over the years. In fact, Lyle has spoken to the developer as well. But now they've both finished the game, and Lyle adored it. Did having to guide some of the collectibles destroy Adam's love for it? Nah, of course not.

Elsewhere, if you have heard of...

The Metaquiz
#13
05/26/2025

The pod gang are having a week off this week, so instead of talking about new titles, news, or even looking ahead, this is sort of "one from the archives". Originally it was released as an exclusive for Patreon backers, we thought since it was so much fun, we'd release it for everyone, if nothing else than to show what people are missing.

We're an independent site, so we strive to produce exclusive content weekly for our Patreon supporters. We do a listener questions pod, and also game show/quiz fun-things like this episode. We'll be doing...

Most Anticipated of 2025 (Part Two)
#12
05/19/2025

Once again the team finds itself fully embargoed up, so it's time for part two of the most anticipated list.

Adam, Steve, and Mick are here with a few picks each, ranging from Metroid Prime 4: Beyond, to FBC: Firebreak, Little Nightmares 3, and of course, Death Stranding 2: On the Beach. Wuchang: Fallen Feathers has been mentioned twice now on the LLC Podcast, so no pressure on publisher 505 Games to deliver on that one, then. Same for Nintendo with Pokemon Legends: Z-A. Professor Layton, however, well it's the first time we've mentioned it, or thought about that series for...

GTA VI, Doom: The Dark Ages, Revenge of the Savage Planet
#11
05/12/2025

You all knew it was coming, right? But on this week’s podcast it’s time to talk about that Grand Theft Auto VI delay, and what that trailer tells us about the game.

There’s more, though, because Xbox Game Studios has actually confirmed that not only is Gears of War: Reloaded coming to PC and Xbox consoles, but it’s also going to be on PlayStation 5. What’s left, then, aside Halo to bring over to Sony’s console?

We’ve been busy playing games the past few weeks, of course, and that means we can h...

Anticipated Games of 2025
#10
05/05/2025

It's time for something a bit different on this week's podcast, as we've got no games we can talk about this week, as it's that time of year.

So instead, Adam, Steve, Lyle, and Mick discuss eight games they're really looking forward to for the upcoming months (although not all have dates). The obvious might be present like Mario Kart World, but have you heard of Spine? Not the back thing, the game? No? Well you have now, and crikey it looks very good.

Clair Obscur: Expedition 33, Bionic Bay, The Hundred Line, Oblivion
#9
04/28/2025

It's finally time to talk about some of the games we've been playing for the last few weeks on the podcast, and there's a full crew here to do it.

Mick and Adam have played through Clair Obscur: Expedition 33 and rather love it, but what's this we hear about a way it could have even been a 10/10 scoring game? Lyle meanwhile has been playing what we're feeling is the spiritual successor to the Danganronpa series in The Hundred Line: Last Defense Academy. Oh and a platformer that's also published by Kepler Interactive (same publisher as Clair Obscur...

Mario Kart World, Marathon, Mandragora
04/21/2025

It doesn't rain but it pours Nintendo news, because just before the podcast recording the Mario Kart World Direct aired, so that's a hot topic alright.

And speaking of Nintendo Switch 2, Adam recently got to go and preview the console, launch line-up, and some games that are coming a bit later like Donkey Kong Bananza. It's unlikely he didn't enjoy himself, but what of the mouse controls; what of the Mario-less-ness, what of everything?

Thankfully Mick is here to talk about Mandragora: Whispers of the Witch Tree, which he's been waiting for, for what seems...

Blue Prince, Promise Mascot Agency, Date Everything
04/14/2025

The Switch 2 news keeps coming, but on this week's podcast we clear up some misinformation. Also, we have a date for Date Everything, and the puns are strong in this one. Lastly in the news segment, breaking news: The Alters has a date!

Chris Hyde has been playing Blue Prince and has an awful lot to say about it, going so far as to call it one of the best puzzle games ever made. Lyle is back this week, saved from puppy duty, to talk about Promise Mascot Agency, which you can see Chris' face getting more...

Nintendo Switch 2, South of Midnight
#6
04/07/2025

As you can imagine, this week's episode of the podcast is very much about the biggest news in the industry: we know loads about the Nintendo Switch 2 now.

From the hardware etc to the price points, pre-orders, and the software prices, everything is covered in this podcast episode. We chat about Mario Kart World, Donkey Kong Bananza, Metroid Prime 4: Beyond, and so much more. There's the small matter of a FromSoftware exclusive title, the upgrades to old Switch games, the cost of peripherals (and how you can use the old ones if you prefer), and a whole...

The First Berserker: Khazan, Monster Hunter Wilds, Indiana Jones
#5
03/31/2025

In the fifth episode of our Loot Level Chat podcast, we're down to three people, but we've got lots to say still, as there's plenty to play, and loads happening.

We lean heavily on the news this week, with Mick and Steve talking Adam through the upcoming title update for Monster Hunter Wilds. There's loads coming, with new monsters, armours, and the meeting/gathering hub arriving imminently. It seems like the formula is repeating, but are the three happy with it?

Elsewhere in the news, Clair Obscur: Expedition 33 has gone gold, meaning it's coming on...

Assassin's Creed Shadows, Atomfall, The Alters
#4
03/24/2025

The podcast returns this week, but with less games to discuss since most of us have been heavily exploring one of the big titles that'd just been released.

The crew have been exploring Assassin's Creed Shadows, and most of them seem to think it's the best one in ages, though there is one dissenter in the group. Atomfall is out soon, and that's another game that the friends have been roaming around, pixel-hunting in. Various opinions on this one, too, given that some love it, some find bits of it great and other bits less great, but...

Atelier Yumia, Death Stranding 2, Split Fiction
#3
03/17/2025

This week we're talking about that Death Stranding 2 trailer. Of course we are.

But there's more: Lyle is here to chat about Atelier Yumia now the review embargo has lifted, while Mick, Steve, and Adam have all been playing Wanderstop and think it's a lovely time. Adam and Chris Hyde have been playing Split Fiction, as has Lyle, and Mick wants to: but can it deliver the fire that the first did, or was it lightning in a bottle?

Question of the week comes from Thomas, who wants to know what our favourite fizzy pop...

Atomfall, Blades of Fire, Tony Hawk is back
#2
03/10/2025

It's been a very busy few weeks, as Adam has been playing lots of upcoming games for the podcast. However, before we get to the first of them, we need to have a chat about Tony Hawk's Pro Skater 3 + 4 being announced, finally.

On top of that, Monster Hunter Wilds has been a massive success for Capcom, already, and the Metacritic "Top Publishers" of 2024 has been announced, so that deserves a (Loot Level) chat.

In terms of what we've been playing, Adam talks some Atomfall after his hands on with that one, before Lyle explains Everhood 2...

Monster Hunter Wilds, Nintendo Switch 2, Avowed
#1
03/03/2025

The very first episode of our podcast, Loot Level Chat is here. Adam, Chris Hyde, Steve, Mick, And Lyle are here to (first up) chat about the news that's taken their fancy.

From Wuchang: Fallen Feathers to Pokemon Z-A, and then the Switch 2, there's a lot to be looking forward to this year, and some things we don't even have dates for. Onto what the team has been playing, and there's a hefty chat about Monster Hunter Wilds, before we chat about Avowed.

There's even time for a little bit on Two Point Museum, and a...
